Katie Boles finds her life turned upside when she finds a dead body on her driveway. The mysterious death is reminiscent of the work of a serial killer who terrorized Katie’s hometown five years ago. The police arrested Katie’s brother for the murders, but the trial and her brother’s behavior left her with plenty of questions.
After a second killing nearby, Katie is afraid that the Shock Killer, the man who had forced her into hiding, was back to involve her in a second round of murders. Even more frightening is the fact that Katie might have to come face-to-face with her brother and learn the truth of the murders.

I was really getting into this when it just abruptly ended! I know it was a short story but it didn't feel it, written the way it was. I originally thought it was a fluffer with only 3 chapters provided - but nup, it was entire. I'm disappointed because I would have loved to read more.

Surprise Never Saw Coming Ending!

Great short story about a serial murder’s sister. She goes out of her way to hide and move to where she can’t be found after her brother’s trial, but bodies start showing up at her house after 5 yrs, two in less than 24 hrs! But her brother is in prison! Lots of intriguing questions still need to be addressed. Has an ending I never saw coming! I’ll be reading the next in the series.

Katie Boles lives alone and doesn’t really want to interact with anyone. One night she hears a strange noise and goes out to check it. There is a dead man at the end of her driveway where she couldn’t drive out. She calls the Sheriff’s office. They are immediately on their way. First on scene was Sheriff Adam Baker. He then calls for backup. Dr. Henry Jackson an immunologist and Dr. Patten the medical examiner show up. Katie has already asked the sheriff if the man died from anaphylactic shock. Seven years ago there had been a serial killer in Bluffton that only killed men but he did it by anaphylactic shock. When he was caught it was Katie’s brother Clayton. But once they were grown they rarely interacted. The Sheriff asked Katie to come to his office the following morning to answer some questions. Her Gardner Kevin was there working when she left. When she got back she didn’t see him, and she knew it normally took him longer to finish his work than the time she had been gone. She decided to call him but she could hear his phone ringing in her back yard. When she got there he was dead and it looked like anaphylactic shock. She called the Sheriff and thee same team came out. Did they now have a copy cat serial killer in Moss Creek? This is a good book that anyone who likes this genre would love. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it was too short and ended abruptly. I will have to check out the next book in the series.

3.5 rounded up. This is the first of a new series. It is a quick read and what seems like a good Murder mystery. I plan to read the entire series.

Katie is faced with two mysterious deaths - right in her driveway and backyard. The MO of the deaths are similar to the work of a serial killer who terrorized Katie's hometown a few years ago. Katie's brother was arrested for the murders and she severed all ties with him, but she is plagued with questions about the reasons behind the murders. She tried to hide, but looks like it's time for her to come face to face with her brother.
The story sounds interesting enough but the book is very poorly written. There are repetitive sentences and the book could use some serious proof reading. The ending is very abrupt. I realize there are four more books pending but there is no information about the next publication date or excerpt from the next book. Overall, the story is not put together well. The premise is not established well, there's no details about Katie's past and explanation about her relationship with her brother. It seems very hastily written. Not waiting eagerly for the next book in the series.

This was a fantastic read. I highly recommend the series, however, it is best to read the 5 books one after the other. This series could have been written in one book since each book is about 4 or 5 chapters. This was a wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well-defined characters and found them believable. I hope there are more books in this series.

Katie's brother was convicted of being a serial killer who ended up in prison. While in prison, a copycat killer started killing people who knew her and her brother. As Katie tries to call up her memories of her brother and his friends to help locate the identity of the next victim, killings continue to occur. It seems the copycat killer was always one step ahead of everyone. There were twists and turns; uncertainty who to believe, and a relationship starting to build between Katie and the sheriff.

Not So Secret Serial Killer

The first book certainly captured my attention. The plot is interesting and very fast moving; however, I do feel as if Timms (author) easily gave away the killer which only left the reader to find out whether or not Katie's brother was actually innocent or not. Overall, a good series. I'm giving this 3 stars due to the grammar and editing throughout the book. Although I realize this series is self-published, someone who professes to love creative writing and proceeds to write multiple series, should take pride in their work. To use words incorrectly, and basically not proofread your "baby" prior to publishing is lazy. Spellcheck is right at your fingertips and I'm quite sure there was someone who would have volunteered to proofread the final copy before print. I cut zero slack for sloppy writing because HE IS IN FACT A WRITER!

This short novel will have you shivering right along with the main character. Katie Boles left her hometown after her brother was convicted of being a serial killer. She was mortified and scared. So off to a cabin in the woods which was near a small town. She kept mostly to herself.

The came the night when she heard something outside. She went to investigate thinking it was probably an animal--what she found was a body--stretched out in her driveway! She immediately called the police.

Then she found another body on her property-the body of her groundskeeper-now she was petrified and who could blame her!

It was determined what killed the men--but not who did it. Maybe in the next in this series we will find out!

This series of books had me gripped from the get go.

SUSPENSE, THRILLER AND A BIG TWIST TOWARDS THE END.

The sister of a serial killer, trying to live off the grid and away from the shape of her brother, all is well until bodies start to turn up dead in and around her property!

Is she killing people and following in her brothers footsteps or is there a copy cat killer?

When her brother is killed on his way to talk about the case, no one can believe it, why would someone kill the man who was tried for the previous murders.

Who has more access to the files and evidence then anyone else? Are the police all they seem?

I saw this book advertised on my Kindle and it said that I could download a sample and if I liked it I could then go ahead and buy the book. I received 2 or 3 chapters to read and then it came to an end. I was enjoying this book and decided to get it so I could finish the story. However when I went to download it to my kindle they said I had the book already and although I tried every which way to have it go to my Kindle, nothing happened. I tried to get help but really that is a frustrating road to go on. So I think whoever gets the "complete" book I think it sounded really quite interesting.
There are other "SHOCK" books to read but honestly I would like to start with book #1.

A serial mystery to ponder.

An interesting mystery. Obviously the beginning of a serial read. Lots of questions that need to be answered. Is Katie's brother really a serial killer? Who's killing people now while he's still in prison? How does he know these men have fatal allergies? Why is he dumping them at Katie's house? And then......a twist.
I'm not sure how many episodes are planned, but here we go!

Katie Boles lives a quiet life away from her old hometown and from anyone who might identify her as the sister of a serial killer. Her peace of mind is eroded when a body is dumped at the end of her driveway.

This short story abruptly ends without resolution. While I was beginning to immerse myself in the book's world, there was not enough for me to want to pursue the plot into the next "book" in the series.

Shocked by "Shock"

I'm very shocked actually, lol. How could a book that is so tiny & quick to read, catch my attention & make me want to read more but also feel like I've invested into the story line. I'm weirdly satisfied & could stop with the 1st book, but I need to figure out what's really going on. Who's next? Why? Love books that make me have to think!!

Fast moving

I enjoyed the story. I felt a little more information on the back story would have been helpful. A killer from five years before is back. Katie's brother was arrested for it . Now men are dying again. I usually wouldn't read a series with 45 pages
average per book, but it is a compelling read.

very short read

Thought it was me re like a short story. Good story line and interesting characters. Great mystery line that was just getting going when the book was over. Definitely left me wanting more but don't think I'd want to pay for another beautiful ok of its that short with an abrupt ending.

Are you kidding me? ???

Well, I never saw that coming. ..went to turn (scroll thru ) the page and the book was finished. Can only say that he probably won't be getting many good reviews as hadn't even got into the meat of the story let alone dessert . Gave 2 stars only because was just starting to like Katie. Certainly not enough to pay for more but then what do I know? ??

Katie is the sister of the convicted serial killer known as The Shock Killer.

After being persecuted by the townsfolk and police because they did not believe she knew nothing about the murders, Katie left town and became a virtual recluse.

Now it appears that somehow, even though still in jail, her brother has found her and there is a copycat killer on the prowl.

Very Good

There's no question that this book is full of suspense and twists and turns even though it's only 34 pages long. It definitely has to be one in a series in order to cover all the information that is involved.

I virtually anything would be a spoiler for this particular book and is definitely worth the quick read. Enjoy and follow the series!

Shock is well-written and engaging. It made me want to keep reading to find out what happened. It does end on a cliff-hanger, which is not my personal preference; however, the rest of the story is a captivating short novella.

This was a wonderful story. I could not put it down. I had to know what happens next. Very fast moving story. It was way to short. I started reading and it was over way to fast. I would highly recommend reading it.

This is a great short story. It gets right into the action. There is just enough character description of Katie to make the reader like her. I wish there was a little more description of the other characters. I look forward to reading the next story to see what happens next.

The story line and character work were good. The book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was a great series starter and I was entertained by this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A different kind of serial murderer who targeted only men and kills them in such an unusual way. Kate helped to put her brother behind bars, but is he back with the help of someone else?

Different for sure and a quick read of 25 mins. Flows well with good background story.

A puzzler

Grabbed your attention and thoughts immediately. Kept you guessing and intrigued. Ended too abruptly and too quickly. Want to read more to determine the culprit and reason.

A Gripping Mystery Suspense

Really great short read. Sister moved to get away from her brother, who was a murderer. A few years later the murders starts again, just like before. A definite must read

Disappointed!

I have never read a book that was like this one.
Don’t even know how to describe it.
It just left you hanging.
Nothing was solved.
I won’t read any more in the series!
