Three complete thrillersOminous ER deaths. Looming evil. When her patients die for no good reason, can their doctor stop the slaughter?Abandoned by her loved ones, Dr. Emma Steele settled to live for her patients and her wine, but her mentor’s gruesome murder prompts her to look for the killer, risking her life.
When her patients start dying, Emma would do anything to stop the carnage, even if confronting the sociopath may take her to her grave. But can she outwit him to save those she swore to protect, or are they all doomed?Overdose is the first thriller in the ER Crimes series. If you like unexpected twists, medical minutia, and a headstrong protagonist who won’t quit, you will love Rada Jones’s page-turner.
Rada was born in Transylvania, ten miles away from Dracula's Castle. Growing up between communists and vampires taught her that humans are fickle, but one can always rely on dogs and books. After she immigrated to join her husband, she went to medical school, then worked in the ER for years, but she still speaks like Dracula's cousin. Her thrillers feature Dr. Emma Steele, a not-so-young ER doc with a moody teenage daughter and a fondness for wine. If blood, gore and serial killers turn you on, check out OVERDOSE, MERCY, and POISON. If you're into dark medical humor, check her STAY AWAY FROM MY ER. But if you're into dogs, the K-9 Heroes series is for you. To celebrate Gypsy, Rada's beloved German Shepherd, Emma adopted a quirky, bacon-loving K-9 named Guinness who runs her life through Mercy and Poison.
The family dynamics were addictive, the very relatable circumstances of the characters, as well as the interesting information on wines. I can see how a crazy life, at home and work including exes, would drive anyone to drink! I read all 3 books in one evening, unfortunately with a less cheaper wine, but still good company with the book.
Emma was very hard to like as the lead character. Also the constant talk about wine was very detrimental to the story lines. I would have a hard time recommending.
