A hedge witch and her psychotic vampire partner enter the Unity Games. Four supernatural academies. A thousand ways to die. I don’t think I want to be Alessia Hastings anymore.
My life plan is pretty simple: Learn to fight. Survive a war with the Hell dimension. Don’t die. It does not, I repeat, it does not involve a mating bond with Malachi Pendragon and spitting out Nephilim babies.
The only problem is that there are a million girls waiting to stab me in the back for that privilege. And one of them just became Kai’s Unity Games partner.
I don’t have time for a love life. I’m too busy trying to stay alive in general. By now all the supernaturals have heard of the prophecy. They’re all waiting for me to betray them. How long before they decide to do something about it?
If the Fae, the shifters, the mages and the para-humans don’t get off my back, so help me Lucifer, I might just give it to them.

This far, book 4 is the best in the series. The moment Andrei appeared, he became my favorite. He's so silly, idiot and funny, haha. He's an asshole, for sure, but has a bit more of personality than some of the side characters. I was in a bit of shock when Chanelle was alive at the end of the book, lmao.
But otherwise, this was the best book this far. I'm in love. There's a lot going on in every chapter. I'd definitely re read it over and over.
💌 ⊹ ۪ ࣪ ꒰ pre-read: I need answers, this series is sooooo good!
Giving this book anything less than 5 stars, after the perfection that was the unity trials, would be disrespectful 💀.
This by far had to be the best book in the series. I'm still coming to terms with some things that happened in the end, but I'm just obsessed overall 😭.
You have seriously GOT to read Bloodline Legacy. I am a 44 year old adult woman who has now reverted to a squeeing, overly giddy 13 year old. The TORTURE poor Alessia goes through is UNREAL, but through everything she stays true to who she is: Human. The romantic tension in this YA Academy is EVERYTHING and more, but we're still not at the end yet. I'm going to lose my mind waiting for the next installment!
4.8 **** I really enjoyed reading Bloodline Legacy! It is the best one in the series! There was lots of action in this book, clean romance and on a couple of occasions there were scenes that perhaps could have been left out as they did not contribute much to the story, but nothing that spoiled the overall story. By the end of the book I felt completely emotionally exhausted (in a good way)!
This was pretty intense. I still hate Kai. But dammm, the tensionnnnn. I feel like it took a page out of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I say this because there was a tournament between different schools. Deja Vu? Thought so.
Well, the good news is that book 3 is still an exciting read. Lex is staring down the approaching apocalypse with her usual snark. She still has awesome friends, scary enemies, & an intriguing new frenemy. The magic dresses sound even more awesome. Many new aspects of the magic world & demon-kind are revealed to keep it interesting. And of course, lots of people are trying to kill her.
Buuut, fair warning, the beginning wasn't that appealing - a lot of yelling & stomping & wanting to throw things & people around. It was like one long, giant temper tantrum. Tiresome. About a third of the way in, the story finally started to engage me more fully & about halfway, I was finally starting to get into it. The 2nd half of the book is what makes it worthwhile.
This story feels almost like it was what books 2 & 3 were meant to be. Perhaps even an opportunity to redo the Shadow Trial into something bigger & more dramatic - that creates a war before the war.
A few of the scenes seem a little random & not well connected to the whole. Also, I couldn't see Lex as being so naive as to think that the Council would ever choose her, so that was weird. The romance is mainly physically inspired & not all that romantic.
Still, by the time it gets to the Unity Games, it's totally absorbing, and the resolution is reasonably satisfying but also leaves you eager for the final book, so I'm glad I hung in there
*Language: moderate with use of common swear words, no f-bombs (still, you'd think a story with angels & pseudo angels, demons & hell wouldn't throw around the word "d--n" as if it had no significance)
*Religion: no resemblance to actual theology which makes most of its distinctions between good & evil pretty fuzzy, but at the same time, it also keeps it obvious that it's total fiction
About a half dozen uses of God's Name in vain, sadly & unnecessarily (& ironically), including once as a curse
(Higher than average editing errors & incorrect word choices, though it remains easily readable. Few ex's gargled instead of garbled complicit instead of compliant diverts vs divots (Quieten is ok - it's British form)
hadn't written the review first time around because I had been eager for next book but on reread number #lost-count-way-back here I am. This review might contain mild spoilers although I will make attempts to hide most parts in the spoiler tag.
Bloodline Academy series will always be THAT series for me. The world building and character development is to die for. I didn't realise it on first read how important this part was to the series. Like some of my favourite characters, those who will be there for lex till very end, part of her found family are introduced here! Andrei, Elite guards, Ravenhall sisters-this author really infuses such life even in the supporting characters This book had some of the sweetest and bitterest moments whose impact was felt for almost entire series- the confession , the bond ,and the stabbing-no child thing , because that is one loss that would haunt lex for long, long time and i am glad that the epilogue novella finally gave us the hint of hope.
Lex is the perfect badass heroine that many novels fail to construct. Her grit, humour, snark, sheer stubbornness, courage and her heart - like I could go on at length. Those little, subtle moments of kai and lex in their fake breakup era had me snorting. Lex and Kai are such a good match who have died for each other, fought for each other, went to hell and places worse that that for each other, took on curses , brought each other back to life, healed each other and being each other's greatest strengths loving so fiercely! Lex is my ult bias in the series but Kai comes close second.
On first read it is satisfying, yes, but that pure gratification one feels at the purging of nephilium council on a reread knowing next time these pests will continue to be an irritation for the rest of the series and this is only time one gets the beheadings they wish would fall on the future councils' heads will happen is incomparable. to put it simply, I love everything about this book , it has everything and I would definitely recommend it to everyone. I will continue on this rereading spree right upto book 13 and the epilogue novella, if college doesn't rear its head like the demon whose butt lex literally unmade!
Woah, a monster of a book for sure but I read 70% of it in a day, it was THAT good! Another incredible page turner by Lan. I am actually so sad that the next book will be the end. As I was reading this I kept imagining how cool it would be if this was a show on Netflix. Lan's writing is so immersive, those little details she weaves in makes it so clear to picture what is happening. Too many times I found myself holding my breath, I can't believe she even went there with Lex and the dominion prison but trust there to always be a plot twist when you least expect it. Nothing is easy for Lex!
Strap in, you are in for a hell of a ride!
As always, I can't wait to see what happens and I can't wait until I can hold this complete book box set in my hands.
Man does this book continue to take you on a wild ride. Holy cows. I was not prepared for half of that. So so good!! I will never tire of this book world. Great characters, hella twisty plot that keeps you gasping and emotional fists that like to keep pummelling you. I cannot wait to see what’s next in store for us, whilst being rightfully terrified lol.
Thanks lLan for your amazing words that have brought this incredible story to life.
Oh.My.God This is amazing!! 100% Recommend this book! And I don't even use exclamation marks this much, so me using it shows how much I loved it. ugh, I know.
Okay that's just not fair, I get all wrapped up in this series and it ends like this... I am so in love 💘💘 with this series and this wonderful cast of characters, I don't know how I am going to fill up the time until the next book comes out. I just hope that it's as long as this one was. This is my kind of book, It was long and filled with passion, excitement, teenage angst and enough parental eye rolling to keep the teenage hormones in check. This series has everything to keep us readers glued to the pages and screens of our tablets until we can't keep our eyes open another minute. I love it when a series has this much hold over me. I can hardly wait to finish one book and then dive right into the next one. I just hope that it doesn't stop at just 5 books, There is so much more that I have to learn about the other students and what is happening with them. Much Thanks to Lan Chan for creating such a enchanting place to entertain us with, It never gets dull and keeps me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next...
Bloodline Legacy (Bloodline Academy Book 4) ~~ This is where Lex finally starts to understand what she is capable of — and why the world is terrified of her. She starts training harder than ever, pushing herself past breaking, determined to control her power before it controls her.
The shifting alliances in this book were insane. People I trusted suddenly felt suspicious and characters I disliked became indispensable. Kia is trying to protect her, but the distance between them hurts. You can feel how badly they both want to trust each other but can’t.
The ending battle scene was breathtaking — Lex unleashing something new and terrifying and impossible not to admire. The moment she realizes she is becoming the weapon everyone fears? Chills.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it.
I like and dislike this series. It's written well as I am irritated and moved by the characters and can imagine the world. The story flows along nicely. What I don't like is the toxic masculinity and female abusers. Just because someone (Lex) is physically small does not give her the right to punch, kick, or commit other physical violence towards their love interest/partner/friend. Nor is it right for their partner to control them physically/emotionally or treat a partner as less than. The amount of "throwing elbows," stepping on toes, and kicking shins is jarring and annoying. Typically people grow out of that by the time they reach their teens yet even the adults act like this - it's ridiculous even in a fantasy world. If these elements were not persistent throughout the series I would give the series a higher rating.
At this point the series has become a celebration of gaslighting, emotional manipulation, abuse, and child endangerment. The protagonist is in a number of blatantly abusive relationships and any time that fact is questioned or brought up she is made to believe she is misunderstanding things and it is her fault. Even after several physical and sexual assaults. And most of the excuses center around the fact that the protagonist is not the same race as the people around her.
I see no sign this is leading to some sort of comeuppance or retribution; all of the people doing this are the "good guys." I sincerely hope no kids reading this think anything that happens in it is a good idea or admirable.
If it's not the new there of Chanelle, the Council's, her new vampire partner, or surviving the Games then it's Lucifer. Her life has always been a struggle and it's not different in this book.
Her relationship with Kai is always a rollercoaster. They have their bright spots but they always have to fight threw obstacles. It will will be interesting to see if they can overcome the many obstacles added to them in this book.
So many surprising things happen. The blow from Lucifer being the biggest surprise of them all. He most definitely doesn't play fair.
I'm excited to see how she handles her new struggles in the next book.
Amazing ride, thrilling and so I completely engaging
Lan Chan is a gifted storyteller, and this book was so gripping, it had me reading furiously into the night. Alessia is an amazing character, overcoming huge hurdles to continue plodding toward her goals while being loyal to her friends. The games, the development of her connection with Kai and Andrei, the competition with Chantelle, and Lucifer haunting her moves, were all key plot points that kept me glued. I stumbled onto this series by happenstance, but I am now a loyal fan of both this series and the author.
Having read & thoroughly loved every book in this magical adventure series, book 4 was equally amazing! The author has weaved a magical world to get happily lost in, so much happens in each book, you are kept on the edge of your seat throughout! I love all the characters & their relationships especially our heroine , would definitely recommend this series to any fan of supernatural, can't wait for the next book!
Alessia never gives up, she keeps coming back for more. Her ability to self sacrifice and self sabotage yet give everything for the people she loves is what makes her endearing she fights for them but she won't fight for her relationship with Kai because she thinks she is protecting him yet she is the only one hurting him. A mass of contradictions, Alessia is so relatable and human as she makes mistakes and tries to save them all
I am stunned, awed and intrigued! So much happened in this book . I cried, I laughed, I got angry and I was devastated for Alessia more than once..... I don’t know where (apart from a big battle) this is going, but I can’t wait! The final trial in the arena had me holding my breath.
I keep reading the books in the series because I do want to know what happens. I wish I had never started it. The writing is excellent, the plot is unique, and the characters are well drawn. The problem is that each book is really just a chapter. I prefer to read books that are hole. My recommendation is to wait for the series to be finished before starting it.

There's nothing noteworthy or amazing until you get to the last fifth of the book and it's just twists and turns and you jnow in books like these they would stop at the first revelation nope it continues to the next a d the next honestly the last bit of the book makes it worth reading through the first three books.
My days this was brilliant! There was not a dull moment in this book even from the very first few lines I knew it was going to be fantastic and it's safe to say I wasn't disappointed! I was hooked and I can't wait for the next one!!!!!
So far the best book of the series! Book 3 had me a little concerned and almost lost me just because it was losing steam and a bit boring until the end. But this book definitely has me ready for book 5. Loved it!
For a fast packed action book of demons, heavenly beings, witches and humans this is the one to read. Lex and Kai are pushed from earth to hell in this exciting story . You will cry and laugh at the things that touch your heart.
I have binged this whole series in about 3 days and all I can say is I want more! Lex and Kai have become my favorite odd couple the love and over protectiveness is what I thrive on
What a tear jerker of an ending. I could not put this book down. Alessia and Kai characters are so evolved and growing up threw this series. Can’t wait to see what happens next. Good writer
Lex is a yoyo of strength and debilitating weakness. Kia is a raging bull running in circles. They are going to either kill each other or get the other killed. Someone is going to loose their head.
I have a problem with this book. the time see to go on but te main character stays 17. Also I don't like it to let a 17 year old have stabbed in her womb. Sorry but the first 2 books ok. but know it is to much drama for me.
