Alexandra Flynn of present-day Boston, Massachusetts has inherited a seaside property in Ireland. But this land with its ruined castle, ancient stone tower, Georgian house, and small quaint cottage is strangely dead and bare. The locals, who call it “White Horse,” say it is haunted and most likely cursed.
Alex and the land’s Scottish caretaker, Morgan Anderson, soon encounter ghosts who reveal a great mystery extending far into Irish myth and legend.
Alex and Morgan are drawn together in their own romance as they try to heal the land which is now their home. But they will have to face the ancient and powerful Irish gods and goddesses; right a great wrong from long ago; and help the trapped spirits of White Horse find peace at last.
My writing career began in 1984 when I sold the first of over 100 non-fiction articles written for the national and regional horse magazines. A few years later, a friend and I decided to try our hand at novels. We wrote three and sold the third one, APRIL'S CHRISTMAS, to Avalon Books in 1994. My own first novel was LADY OF FIRE, a time-travel romance published by Leisure Books in 1996. I've always had a great interest in Ireland, history, horses and fantasy, and truly enjoy combining all these things in my novels. I am now working on SEVEN CASTLES IN IRELAND. "
Engaging vivid writing allows the reader to immerse oneself into the novel’s world born of the Emerald Isle’s fantastical legends. The modern frame allows for magnificent tales interspersed throughout Ireland’s history and Alex’s ancestry’s herstory. She captures period variations of the setting on Capall Ban or Equa Alba ensconced in regressing times with historical accuracy.
I heard recently on a “In the Writer’s Studio” podcast with Charlie Lovett that the moderator valued books that sent her to Google like his and this one. I googled many aspects of Janeen O’Kerry’s Seven Castles in Ireland, especially the Beltaine Fires and the gods. This book is an enjoyable, worthwhile experience.
I've had this on my KU TBR for quite some time and decided to finally read as Celtic stories sometimes appeal to my imagination. Seven Castles in Ireland is such a story. Although some parts leaves you to wonder...thus it being fantasy, I found the story nicely written, intriguing, and well worth the read. Not sure why I've spurned away from Celtic novels, but this one leaves me wanting to read more. Nice piece of fiction and fantasy.
A fascinating story that carried me back through time as Alex and Morgan seek to untangle a mysterious curse. Janeen O'Kerry deftly braids myth and legend with Irish history and delivered a story that kept me swept up till the last page. Eager to read more in this series!

The author’s style is engaging and her historical settings are filled with detail. The modern world fades into settings that feel real, and the plot keeps the reader entranced. Highly recommended.
Oh, what a story! It's a ghost story, a mystery, a lost love story, and almost a time travel romance. I live how this story is presented. The "ages" are woven so well into the story that the reader forgets they are reading a modern ghost tale. I'm not doing it justice. Trust me, it's fantastic!
A gracious journey through the history of Ireland. Each era endowed with its own personality. Then drawn together for a pleasant happy ending and an enduring future.
I loved how the story told of times long gone. Seeing how people lived in those earlier times and that we are the continuation of the people who came before us.
