I walk back out to pick up another load and smack into a brick wall. I look up, and the wall is actually a chest that belongs to one of the most handsome men I have ever seen. Tall with dark hair and startling green eyes, muscles for days, I almost swallow my tongue.
My dirty blonde hair is in a messy bun on top of my head, I am wearing an old sweatshirt and jeans, no make-up, bags under my grey eyes and I am sure men that look like this don’t go for short, curvy girls.
“I am so sorry I need to be careful and watch where I am going.” I smile up at him as soon as I find my voice. He really does look like the man chest covers on romance novels.
The more time I spend with Kevin, the more I can see myself falling for him. I know that it could be dangerous; he might not be looking for anything but an easy friendship. Putting those thoughts out of my mind, I am determined to just enjoy the evening.
Kevin
My date with Jenna was one of the best nights of my life. Jenna and I ate and laughed, talking about everything from our jobs to past relationships, favorite colors, and everything in between. I was attracted to her, of course, she is a beautiful woman, but it was more than that. Jenna gives me this sense of coming home that I never had with anyone else. I love Jenna’s laid-back way of approaching life. It feels as if we just fit together. I know now that whatever magic Silver Springs has over the Shaw brothers, it has taken me with it. I am in love with Jenna.
“Kevin” is a steamy, sweet, and SHORT, curvy girl, and alpha male insta love romance. This is the fifth story in the Shaw Brothers Series, but it can also be read as a standalone with a sweet HEA. NO cheating. NO cliffhangers. If you love short romances with insta love, hot love scenes, and a cute story, then this one is for you.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Jenna has moved back to her hometown and left her career behind suddenly realising how empty her life was and how her relationship was going nowhere especially after she found him cheating on her. She home and decides to reopen the bookshop she used to visit when she was a child. She wasn’t looking for love it romance but when she meets one of the famous Shaw brothers she starts to see something she had thought was gone from her life. Is Kevin Shaw the one to show her love still exists or the one to shatter her heart for good?
Kevin has moved to be closer to his brothers and their new families not to find out if Silver Springs really does hold the magic of love for anyone that has the last name of Shaw, he’s trying to recover from finding the woman he was about to propose to cheating on him. He is enjoying the pace of life he’s found and when he meets Jenna he wonders if he’s found the one he really is meant to be with. But just when things are going right his ex Natasha appears, is this the end of his relationship with Jenna and will he return to New York?
Short, and sweet I am sad this is the end of the Shaw Brothers, here is to hoping that their could be a second generation of books :) 4.2* read.
This is the fifth and final book in the Shaw brother series and Kevin the paramedic is the final brother to be dealt the love of his life by the magic of Silver Springs
Kevin no longer trusts women after his girlfriend in New York cheated on him so he has come to where his brothers are hoping to start a new life but that doesn't include a wife for him unlike his brother That is until he meets Jenna and she has him rethinking the magic. Jenna doesn't believe a man as gorgeous as Kevin would ever look at a curvy girl like her and when she meets his SIL's the idea is just compounded because they are all gorgeous but she sure would like them as friends When his ex tries to get him back he will state just where his future is.
An okay read but nothing stand out or special about it. I've given some thought to why I didn't enjoy this more and a significant part of it is the author's writing style. It's quite dry and matter-of-fact to the point that I was "hearing" it in my head as a deadpan monotone. As a result I didn't feel any real chemistry or heat between the characters.
This was especially problematic in the dialogue, which did not come off as realistic. I think a more informal way of speaking and the use of more contractions would have gone a long way to correct this. All in all I think it could use a good edit and would be a much more engaging story.
Note: Available on KU at time of posting. Technically a standalone although has frequent mentions of characters from the other books in the series.
Another great book of the series this is the last of the shaw brothers Kevin to come to Silver Springs and leave the busy life of New York behind him and a cheating ex girlfriend . Jenna is opening the book store back up after the owner died she is also leaving the busy of New York behind her and a cheating ex boyfriend. Neither where looking for love again so soon after their break ups but Silver Springs and it’s magic strikes again.
(Warning: part of a series, but each have different sets of main characters within their world, each book has its own HEA)
I cannot get enough of this author and this series!
Intensely sensuous, wrought with emotion, and so well written that I absolutely could not put it down! Each book has been cohesive and enlightening to the overall theme between these characters. This review has been voluntarily submitted for your consideration.
An entertaining book five in the Shaw Brothers series. It is quick, engaging, well written, funny, steamy, and emotionally deep. The characters are likeable with undeniable chemistry between them. Definitely recommended!
