I am a quirky writer from the US who dabbles in dark, paranormal and contemporary romance. My stories aren't always typical, but contain a little something for everyone.
A spectacular grand finale of Vadim's story, although I hope we will see him again. The women in his life, Tiffany and Magda, instill emotions in Vadim that he can't comprehend or deal with. These feelings are new and foreign to him and he doesn't know whether to believe that Tiffany does not want to "take" from him as everyone else in his life. I loved Maxim's appearance and role in these books. I highly recommend you dive into this series!
Similar to Maxim's storyline that make up the first 3 novels of Club XXX series by Lana Sky, I loved the first two books of Vadim's romance, but although book 3 was solid, it lacked the flavour of the first 2 books. Still ruminating on why that is. RTC.
*Some more thoughts*
So I binge-read Lana Sky for the past few weeks, starting with The Ellie Grey Chronicles and now zipping through the excellent Club XXX series. The Ellie Grey Chronicles contain 2 stories for one couple while Club XXX has done 3 stories.
I think that Vadim and Maxim had incredible stories with amazing cliffhangers for both book 1 and book 2, but by book 3 - it feels a little... long? Like book 3 could have been squished into a longer book 2? Or that if there was a book 3, either throw some more stuff in there to spice it up or make it shorter.
Conquer just seems to run out of steam. The big dilemma of being married or not being married was interesting, particularly how Tiffany is skittish because she has been burned in a marriage before, while Vadim feels like she is taking everything from him with a laugh and wink.
While I enjoyed it, I didn't enjoy it as much as the first 2 books in Tiffany and Vadim's love story.
Lana Sky does hope better than the majority of authors. This ending of Vadim and Tiffany 's story highlights hope in such a beautiful way. Vadim is vulnerable and lacking in confidence even as he rules the business world. His journey with Tiffany has been devastating and ruthlessly dazzling. Ultimately it's about dissecting that age old question: how does one get along with our family? How do you create a family when we don't know what one really looks like?
When someone unexpected comes along, Vadim turns desperate and determined to keep what he has. He expects it all to go away, like he's not worthy.
"“Vadim…” I can’t look at him anymore. I break, forfeiting the round to stare down at my hands. They’re shaking. “What do you want from me?”“I want everything.” He sounds so hollow. So cold. A man denied warmth for so damn long he doesn’t even remember what it feels like. Just that he craves it above all else. Jealously, he craves it. “Your body.” But his tone implies something else. Something that makes me stiffen, desperate to head him off. “Don’t—”“Your touch.”“Stop it—”“Your taste. Your love—”“Vadim!” I lurch to my feet, scrambling for the terrace door. My eyes are burning, vision blurring. Putting distance between us now is my only hope for escape. “I’m going for a walk.”“So you run,” he snarls. “As is the case with everyone else, I am never enough to keep you.”"
He acts as if his life has a time limit, overwhelming Tiffany and endangering the trust they have. He has become even more intense, while keeping more secrets. But Magda has gotten under Tiffany's skin so far that she realizes she will do anything to stay in her life...no matter how much Vadim pushes her away. Author Sky writes Vadim as an insecure man who holds his hurt in his chest, bursting perhaps for the first time ever as he fights for family.
"The pure intensity of my emotions seems to take him back. His posture sprawls out without an ounce of poise to guide it, his fingers raking through his hair— in this moment, comfort takes precedence over putting on a show. He’s fully unguarded, his wall in shambles, and my heart sinks. I’m not sure if I’m well equipped enough to face him like this. Gritting my teeth, I’m willing to try, though. "
"“You only aim to get inside my head. Because, your love? I want it,” he admits in a growl so resonating I sway. “But I am not stupid enough to think I could ever have it. Ever have you. Not without a price."
I loved how Tiffany knew how important it was for Vadim and his brother Maxim to find common ground. I loved how Magda and Ainsley were allowed to cultivate a friendship. I loved how Tiffany saw through all the walls Vadim put up.
This series was an emotional rollercoaster, with every phrase and dialogue written to be meaningful. Even the sex scenes were lyrical magic.
"“Beautiful.” He sounds like a repentant sinner, more than ready to prostrate himself before an altar in a quest for redemption. And damn, does he endeavor to earn every ounce of mercy… I gasp as his lips nudge my inner thigh, swiftly inching downward, forcing me to cling to the counter. As a result, I wind up opening myself to him further— a vulnerability that he eagerly takes advantage of. Soft, his tongue feathers over my piercing first in teasing, slight swipes. Followed by his lips. His teeth. Everything."
I feel blessed to read the transformation of Vadim and his family in this dark and destructive tale. Hope reigns supreme in a story that will stay with you long after you move on to the next book.
Tiffany and Vadim's conclusion was great. It all came full circle in this trilogy and the way these two overcame the many obstacles that were constantly thrown at them only made the connection they had stronger. Great read
I'm not going to lie. I questioned whether to read this book because. . . Well, Tiffany's character made me want to smother her with pillow after reading the last book. Her gold-digger ways and "me me me" attitude was almost enough to turn me off, but I really was invested in the change I saw in Vadim.
So here I am and I'm glad I read their story to the end. Ms. Sky was able to not only bring both these two broken and damaged people together and show the growth in their characters, but she introduces Vadim's daughter in this story. All three of them are going through things individually that keeps them from trusting others, from letting people get too close. The author does an amazing job of showing the different defense mechanisms each character uses and they each use it to the fullest, aiming to hurt. It's a subtle thing what the author does, it is only now that I'm thinking on it that I realize this story was about the three of them learning to trust and love, to move beyond the damage and wrongs of the past. All the while, I am liking Tiffany more because she is growing more strong within herself; I'm liking Magda because she is learning to trust. I will always like Vadim, but my compassion for him grows as he continues to learn what love is. As always what Ms. Sky does is masterful because she is able to elicit such a wide range of feelings from readers.
“I’ve plied you,” he adds through gritted teeth. “Tempted you. Bought you. Fucked you. Tasted you. And yet it feels as if it’s never enough. Like I’m always a heartbeat from losing you. You are still playing your game—”
Book three is angsty as fuck!! Both Vadim and Tiffany are and totally different mindsets.
Vadim doesn’t understand why Tiffany can’t just sign documents to adopt his daughter and marry him out of convenience.
Tiffany is upset because she has ended up falling in love for both Vadim and his disaggregated but she’s scared because she’s already had one failed marriage. And she wants more. She wants love. And she wants Vadim to love her the way she feels she deserves.
With Maga’s mother lurking around and playing her mind games, The tension is high in the last book of this trilogy.
The book definitely has a bitter sweet HEA. I have noticed with Lana Sky’s writing, she never gives us a full swoony HEA with any of her characters that I’ve read so far. It’s more of a contentment for now.
I really hope that we see a more settled HEA for both brothers one day!
Wow! What a steamy action-packed end to this amazing series, I do recommend reading them in order. Irena is back and causing trouble, meanwhile Tiffany is scared of the family she may lose and is in danger from Irena. Vadim know what he wants but can he convince Tiffany and keep his new family safe? Irena has some sinister plans brewing can she be stopped? This is a steamy, intense and emotional read with loads of twists and turns, drama and intrigue. The characters have lots of depth and really draw you into the story. I loved it!
I loved this book until the end. The ending made me angry at how it ended. I felt let down as so many things were still left unsaid or handled. I expected more of a resolution between Vadim, Tiffany, and Max. Especially, with those unknowns out there.
I'm going in search of another book that I must have missed because this series is just too good to end this way.
Conquer (XXX Vadim Book 3): Club XXX Book 6 by Lana Sky
Tiffany Conners has played many roles in her life as a wife and a Sunday school teacher, but none have been as important as the one that she has now. Can she let herself love again and have the family she told herself she never wanted again?
Vadim (Dima) Gorgoshev has been through literal hell his entire life and has barely made it through the other side. He has learned to control everything but when he is fighting for the family that he never thought he deserved can he ask for help?
With a tentative agreement made between Tiffany and Vadim, can Tiffany allow herself to not only love Dima but Magda as her own to? Can she let the past be the past and unlock her heart for more? She has always told herself that she never wanted a family after her marriage imploded but is it still true? Dima can see his dream coming true and having the family that he desperately wants. Can he keep them, or will they be taken away like everything else in his life? Each are learning their new roles in their new family dynamic but what happens when someone from Dimas past that should have stayed buried comes back and threatens everything that he has worked so hard for? How can he keep them safe when he isn’t even sure they are safe with him?
GAWD!!!! This whole series makes me feel as if I have run a marathon and barely made it through the finish line. Dima has grown so much through this series. He may still look to Tiffany for some guidance with Magda, but he seems to be more comfortable in his new role as a father. He is also able to show Tiffany his newly emotional side and is also learning to trust that Tiffany won’t leave or hurt him. Tiffany has come a long way to through the series as well. She also had a hard time trusting Dima because she had been lied to most of her marriage and treated as if she wasn’t good enough. Dima shows her that she is truly worthy. Not only has she taught Dima to give compliments, but she has learned to take them when he gives them.
This is the third book in Vadim’s and Tiffany’s story.
This book picks up from the cliffhanger from book two (Vadim: Corrupt) with a surprise visit from a dangerous person from Vadim’s past. With this unexpected visit Vadim’s dreams could be slipping through his hands in a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
Tiffany on the other hand is being pressured by Vadim to become his wife and mother to his daughter Magda. Tiffany is torn between wanting to stay and run! She is just coming off a divorce and still has many insecurities and is hoping Vadim will give her more time to decide.
Vadim, well what can I say about him. I love, love, love him. This book shows him so vulnerable, warm and will resort to anything to make Tiffany and Magda a family!
While Vadim and Tiffany navigate their lives, there are threats emerging and Tiffany gets put in danger. Will Vadim ask for help that he needs from his estranged brother or handle everything on his own like he has done his whole life? You will so love his choice.
I’m so in love with all three of these characters in this book and talk about a family in the making against all odds, the ending leaves me smiling and oh so satisfied.
I also loved that Maxim, Francesca and Ainsley (from Submit, Obey and Surrender Series) and they make some appearances in this book, which makes me very happy!
Lana Sky weaves such wonderful storytelling from book to book and I’m so hooked on her style of writing that I most heartedly recommend this series and those yet to come.
I absolutely loved Tiffany in this story! She really found herself and found her strength as the pages continued to turn. I also loved seeing her relationship with Magda develop and grow. Her ability to see beyond Magda's acting out for what it really was and to love that little girl unconditionally was heartwarming to read. I really enjoyed the times her protective mama bear came out. Vadim still had his big time jerk moments, but it was apparent more than ever his true feelings for Tiffany and the family he wanted to have with her and Magda.
This book picks up where book two finished off. With Irena in the picture, we get to learn more about both Vadim's and Magda's pasts. With what that b**** did to both of them, you'll spend a lot of time hoping she gets her due.
I really enjoyed the trilogy and this book. However, I was disappointed in the ending. After I finished, I went back and forth through the last few pages making sure that I really was at the end. I'm used to having a cliffhanger ending when reading Ms. Sky's work, but I always know that questions will be answered in upcoming books. With this being the third and final book in the trilogy, I was left with some questions I fear won't get answered. I would have loved to see an epilogue. With that said, I would still re-read the series and also recommend the books to others. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy. This is my honest review.*
I didn't start out liking this trilogy but am so glad I hung in there because it was so worth it. Initially Tiffany's character was not one I either embraced or liked. It took half of book two for me to soften to her and realize how damaged she was. Vadim is supposed to be the damaged character and yet Tiffany's character is as damaged as he is; just in different ways. She comes off as nothing but a gold digger who is shallow, thoughtless only looking for someone to f.....k. By the end of book two you start to see the cracks in her façade, how vulnerable and deeply scarred she is. Once Tiffany character starts to become human I really connected with these two characters as they struggle through Vadim's heinous past and Tiffany's baggage.
I loved Magda's character, Vadim's daughter. She was such a important component in the story. Vadim's and Tiffany's love story is a slow burn page turner filled with lots of angst and walls, but is mostly filled with hope. It has many knee-jerk moments with ups and downs, wins and losses for each character. The author did a good job bringing the story line and characters full circle to a stunning ending; one the reader could not have predicted. This trilogy was one that could have gone so many ways. Love and trust won out in the end for all three characters.
What can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment and stayed up all night listening to this book and I'm proud of it. Love, love, love Vadim & Tiffany's story. It's always something with these two that'll keep you guessing every time you get to the next page.
Spice 1/5 Song: LET THE WORLD BURN by Chris Grey Lyric: I shouldn’t have fallen in love look what it made me become I let you get too close just to wake up alone and I know you think you can run you’re scared to believe I’m the one but I just can’t you let you go I’d let the world burn let the world burn for you, this is how it always had to end. I can’t have you then no one can. That was... Beautiful *cries*. I was iffy about Tiffy in the beginning, hell i was iffy about these books. But i started to love her persistence's, whether that be to get Vadim to open up, gain Magda's trust, and be the glue the brings Maxim and Vadim together. "Mistrust is always his first instinct- especially where maxim is concerned- but in this case, i can sense the effort he exerts to stay still. To watch. To let his brother enjoy the simple gift they've both been denied for so long-family."I need more of them, I feel like there's so much we still need to see, more of the hussie, more of Maxim with the girls, more of the brothers together. Idk how much will get with Milton's books next. I have a feeling they'll all have to come together to end their Grandpa once and for all. Vadim really put Tiff through it this book. When a man offers you the world, and you not only spit in his hand. You demand his thoughts. His secrets. You always ask for more". They're both overthinkers, and it almost ruined them. "Every time you look at me, i can see you plotting your escape" He really made her leave, kicked her ass out of the hospital, blamed her, insulted her, all because she wanted time to think about marriage. I was like oml what tf is going on. When she came back with the adoption papers i was like GET HIS ASS GIRL lmao. That man needs this women in his life. She puts his ass in his place, when he's gone off the rails, when he thinks the worst, she's always there. She brings everyone together, and stays through the worst of everything. I'm very excited for this double wedding, hell it'll probably be a triple wedding.
Side note, i love Lucius, he's so kind to everyone. Also, I've learned through-out this series, is that ALL the security is unless. and the men are dumb and don't give their women their numbers, or weapons to protect themselves FROM THEIR MAFIA LIFE.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "CONQUER" (XXX VADIM) This was a great finale to this amazing Trilogy full of intense drama, intrigue, suspense, secrets, lies, betrayal, mystery, angst, danger, hot steamy scenes twists that make for addicting read. Vadim for all his power and dominance is very vulnerable underneath walls he let down very often he had major trust issues and sibling rivalry with Maxim from childhood all he truly wants is a family and someone who truly loves him. Tiffany gets a look at Magdalene's mother Irina when she shows up unexpectedly she's a real piece of work and her daughter is terrified of her she doesn't have a maternal bone in her body. I loved the chemistry between Tiffany, Vadim and Magda was a delightful part of the story so much is revealed in this story more of Vadim and Maxim's background as to why they are the way are with each other. I definitely recommend to get this Trilogy so well written with very well developed characters that pull you in so you felt their emotions and the turmoil they were going through I hope there'll more of Maxim & Vadim in the future I'd also like an extended epilogue to see a bit of their future. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!!
Tiffany and Vadim were such incredible characters and I am so glad I got to be on this journey with them. I was already impressed by the increased depth of character we saw from Tiffany in Corrupt, but in Conquer, we see more than who she is--we see who she's becoming. Undoubtedly, being with Vadim and Magda is changing the way she's living and acting, which creates a flourishing character who is realistically affected by the world around her. Even so, she doesn't lose her past, and Conquer dives a bit more into her personal history and how it still lingers with her. There's looking forward while also looking back.
Although they're not the focus, Maxim sucker that I am, Maxim and Francesca's relationship was also so well portrayed and developed from the first trilogy.
Of course, we get more insight into Vadim's mind and his motivations, but Tiffany's presence and their association change him in subtle ways that slowly build up to make him into the kind of guy I don't think he ever thought he could be.
Excellent Conclusion to Vadim, Tiff & Magda's Story
Ms. Sky has an absolutely beautiful way of writing about broken people the reader aches to see healed. Unlike most, Ms. Sky has the ability to tear the reader's heart & wrest their emotions up, down & around, sometimes with violent intensity while other times in a completely satisfying & heartwarming way with her deft but sure style. She's taken three broken damaged people: Vadim, Tiffany & Magda & made the reader care about them. WANT them to be healed. Happy. Loved. Together. But there are those & forces who want to destroy &/or use them for their own vile purposes. And the only way for our beloved characters to survive & prevail, means joining forces with a lifelong loathed rival . . . . . Excellent writing, superb characters, engrossing & thrilling plot make this a deliciously & most satisfying read that I loved.
An amazing end to this trilogy! I loved how different Vadim is from Maxim, but still a strong and virile man, even though he seemed a bit insecure. I also really liked seeing how Tiffany's character progressed from the Control and how she grew as a person, I was not really a fan in the beginning, but I have made respect for her now!
The story progressed right where the 2nd one ended and continues to give you twists and turns that will give you ALL of the feels! The characters are real, even though the circumstances and situations are definitely not the norm, but you can put yourself in their shoes! All in all this was a great ending to Vadim's trilogy that will have you emotionally invested in the story and characters. I give it a HUGE 5 stars and totally recommend that you read it!
PS: Thank you to Lana Sky for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!
😭 A high voltage mix This final episode was a potent blend of suspense, heartache, family, betrayal, and love
Tiff still set me off a time or two - but watching her finally get it together Being able to witness her bury the past and grab what she truly desired?
And Vadim- I have had a soft spot for him since the beginning but watching him drops his emotional walls for little Magda? Be still my biological clock - I would give that man the world Yeah he still sorely lacks in the social skills department. There were a couple times I questioned his actions But he's trying
Sky didn't disappoint with this closing episode for Vad and Tiff. All the twists and on the edge drama I expected Expertly tainted with just the right dose of hurt and betrayal Assuaged with a soothing balm of hope and family. Yeah this one may have played a bit on my heartstrings
This is third and final book in Vadim series and what a grand finale this was. Book starts where the last one left off and we get to see Vadim's past trying to threaten everything he was trying to build for his future. This leads to a series events some beautiful some ugly.
I loved interaction between tiffany and Magda and so far tiffany is my all time favourite female protagonist. She found her strength in this journey and what I enjoyed most about her is that she is no pushover whether it is Magda in starting trying to scare her away or Vadim manipulating her into marrying and adopting his kid. What she did to Vadim after Magda's sickness earned huge respect from me. Also I loved the guest entry of Maxim and Ainsley and their interaction with Magda was cute.
Overall I really enjoyed the the whole series and really want to see Vadim and tiffany in book or epilogue .
Conquer is the third and final installment of the XXX Vadim trilogy.
I have read and enjoyed the first 2 parts of this series, and I was very excited when i finally got my hands on the final part of it and to find out what happens next with both Tiffany and Vadim. As per usual Lana’s writing is amazing, throughout this whole series she manages to create this dark and tempting world with great characters and dynamics that just hooks you in immediately and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I think that Part was such a great ending to this series, I absolutely loved it and I loved the character development that got here, and all the plots and twists along the way.
I highly recommend this series for anyone who enjoys this genre of dark romance.
Wow. What a amazing ending to the trilogy. Tiff and Vadim continue to struggle with their relationship now that Irena is back. I love how Tiff has embraced and fallen in love with Magda. I think that is exactly what Vadim wanted and her to fall in love with him. My favorite part of the book is when Magda got sick and Tiff refused to give up on seeing her even tho Vadim has his jerk moments you know that he loves Tiff. I have fallen hopelessly in love with Lana Sky writing. Vadim and Tiffs story is one of my all time favorites. I love how this story interconnects with Maxims world. 1 click this series you will love every word. Thank you Lana for another phenomenal story and ending this trilogy.
This is an amazing read and a lighter read than some of the other dark romances you may be expecting from Lana Sky. Vadim is a mysterious character that starts off as guarded until he meets the lively and loud Tiffany. In their last book together, they have their individual demons to face while also trying to balance their relationship and caring for Magda. Tiffany struggles with her self worth and fear of abandonment while Vadim wants what's best for his daughter. Follow these two complex characters as they come together and learn to become a family. P.S. There is a little Maxim crossover so who wouldn’t want to read this :)
RODE The EDGE! INTENSE! A fantastic twisted ending that kept me on edge with jaw-dropping twists that made it Impossible to put down as well as head turning double takes that sent me in to a frenzy with excitement and fear. I loved the abundance of emotions that radiated through the incredible writing. The steamy chemistry was YUMMY laced with angst and a sweet side. I fully enjoyed Vadim's story and am happy yet sad that I got my HEA. Its dark, steamy, fierce, filled with angst and intense twists and turns that evoke a myriad of emotions.
Lana Sky is a truly gifted author. The stories she writes are so unexpected; and, this is by far one of my favorite series. A strong, extremely intelligent sensual man is learning what love is while striving to change the course of his life. A beautiful mesmerizing woman seeks adventure and is determined to avoid making a connection and find love. Problems and ghosts from the past abound at every turn and threaten to destroy this budding relationship. Find out if Vadim and Tiffany can work together to overcome these desperate situations.
I'm going to try to keep this review concise and to the point.
Okay... so, wow. This was what I think to be a perfectly imperfect conclusion to Tiffany, Vadim, (and Magda's) story. There were plenty of really sweet moments, sexy ones (*waggles eyebrows*), and of course plenty of stakes. And if you have been following this series thus far, it is an incredibly satisfying and worthwhile read.
Hopefully, this will not be the last we see of Tiffany and Vadim, as well as other characters in this universe created by LS.
What a fantastic series this is! Each book kept getting better and better. And Book 3 tops it off as the ultimate story. We learn a lot of back story about the people who were involved in Vadim's life and even Magda's. It is so sad at times, so volatile, sinful sex, fun days and happiness. Tiffany is once again incomparable in this story. There's even Maxim and what a surprise with him! I can't say enough about this series. This will always be one of my favorite series of all times.
This was perfection every single word as Vadim, Tiffany, and sweet Magda oh how I loved that little girl find their place in life with each other through whirlwinds of deceipt, danger and very scary situations that will have your heart racing.
The twists and turns you don't see coming is so exciting and keeps you on the edge as these beautiful strong characters try to redeem themselves and be accepted the way the are I loved how they bonded with Magna she will steel your heart.
I am absolutely in love with Vadim! And Tiffany is strong and has such a big heart. I see such growth in the characters and I can only hope and wish for more as it seems Vadim and Maxim may have turned a corner in their relationship. Little Magda and Ainsley did their best to steal the show.
I read a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.
