Mirrors and mischief might not be the best combination in this delightful tale of the Paramour Bay Mysteries by USA Today Bestselling Author Kennedy Layne…
The quaint coastal town of Paramour Bay is once again hosting their annual garage sale, and Raven Marigold is happily participating for the first time with two tables of gently used items and select pieces of clothing. She’s taken special care to ensure that no magical auras remain on the items that she’s included for sale, and she is quite confident that her first time joining in on the sale will go off without a hitch.
Raven hadn’t counted on her familiar taking his annual battle with the local squirrel population to a new level, resulting in a collapsed table, a broken mirror, and a trapped phantom who leads Raven and the gang onto their next murder mystery that might not reveal the fairest of them all.
You’ll want to put down your trusty dustpan and broom for this enchanting whodunit that might or might not result in seven years of bad luck for the residents of Paramour Bay!
Kennedy Layne is a USA Today bestselling author. She draws inspiration for her romantic thrillers in part from her not-so-secret second life as a wife of a retired Marine Master Sergeant. He doubles as her critique partner, beta reader, and military consultant. Kennedy also has a deep love for cozy mysteries, thrillers, and basically any book that can keep her guessing until the very end. They live in the Midwest with their menagerie of pets. The loyal dogs and mischievous cats appreciate her writing days as much as she does, usually curled up in front of the fireplace.
Phantom Blend (Paramour Bay Book #12) The Paramour Bay Series by Kennedy Layne proved to be full of fun cozy mysteries full of paranormal intrigue, and heartwarming charm. Set in the enchanting seaside town of Paramour Bay, the series follows Raven Marigold, who is a relatable and endearing character who discovers she’s a witch. From the very first book, I was drawn into a world filled with magical mishaps, quirky townsfolk, and a touch of humor that kept the tone light and engaging. Paramour Bay came alive with its quaint shops, mysterious coves, and a community that’s as eccentric as it is lovable. Ms. Layne’s writing style is approachable and immersive, making it so easy for me to lose myself in the pages (in a great way – NOT in a ‘I have no idea of what’s going on’ way 😊). Each book introduces a new mystery, often tied to the supernatural, and the twists are clever without being overly complex - perfect for fans of cozy mysteries. So, whether you’re a fan of paranormal tales, cozy mysteries, or simply looking for a feel-good series to curl up with, Paramour Bay is a magical escape that will leave you smiling. It’s a perfect brew of mystery, magic, and heart. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy a touch of whimsy with their whodunits. Let the Binge Begin. Happy Reading…
Back in Paramour Bay with witches, wizards, a golem, a werewolf and the grim reaper, now we have a man in a mirror, a druid and rumours of a vampire! By far, the best character though is Leo, or, to give him his full title, Mr Leo, Raven's familiar.
This is book 12 in the series and so much has happened in the short time Raven came back to the small town at age 30, to claim her inheritance, a tea shop and cottage owned by her recently deceased Grandmother. What she didn't know, was her family are witches, something her Mother had kept from her. Before her passing, Rosemary, her Grandmother, cast a spell to keep Leo in the living so he could help Raven learn her craft; however, as the spell was black magic, it resulted in a few issues, one being his looks, two being his memory lapses. However, none of this detracts from the fantastic dialogue he has with Raven, who, apart from her Mother (Rowena), are the only ones who can hear him.
In this book, a hand mirror, which Raven was selling at a table sale was nearly broken after Leo scattered the table contents during a chase with his nemesis, the local squirrel population! Bernard appeared and the book centres around Raven trying to find out who killed him over a century ago, so he can pass through the veil into the afterlife.
Great books which I'm finding hard to put down, best read in order to preserve the continuity of the storyline and characters. I'm sure book 13 won't disappoint either!

A broken mirror and a phantom in that mirror makes the story a great one. The ghost that couldn't cross over due to unforseen reasons. This is the best book so far in this series. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
This series is one of my favorites for a light-heated paranormal mystery that makes me laugh-out-loud. Leo, the cat, has the absolutely best dialogue of any talking animal I've read. Raven and friends solves a cold case in this story. The mystery plots are good with lots of witty dialogue.
This is a great book in a fun series that anyone will enjoy. It has the paranormal, a murder mystery, humorous characters and a little bit of romance. What more can you ask for?
I won't lie. I took a loooooong break from this book. I finally finished it. There's not much else to say except I'm taking a break from this series. Maybe I'll come back to it some day.
Another winner and your mysteries are fascinating to read your characters, humor and the story line is very entertaining and I am really looking forward to your next book.
I can't wait for the next book to be released. I love this series. I look forward to reading it every night before bed. This would be an awesome Netflix series.
I like the new characters being introduced. The story line was interesting and not the normal bad guy did the deed. The cat needs to shape up, he is getting a bit annoying
Overall, I enjoyed the book very much. Besides the usual cast of supernatural beings we now have an addition of a druid, a werewolf, and a possible blood-sucker. All the ingredients for a cozy mystery are in place. All you need is a hot cup of whatever you prefer to drink and a warm fluffy blanket to settle in.
What I didn't enjoy was Leo's constant whining. His quest to prevent a squirrel-pocalipse is more of a side quest than a main plot line, yet it keeps getting mentioned far too often (every 2 sentences or so), which makes it utterly irritating.
