Ages have come and gone, and for the inhabitants of Paro, magic has outlived its usefulness. Magic is no more than legend, and those who seek it are hated, persecuted, sent into exile, or even murdered. To be a Majeea magic seekeris to live in secret. It is to live in fear. Nevosi, a young noble turned magic seeker, and Lord Jorry, a disinherited Druid, must set aside their pasts to seek out the truth, only to learn that finding it may cost them their lives. B.K. FULLER was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. By the time she was six her family had moved from Idaho to Texas, and finally, to Moberly, Missouri. Mrs. Fuller spent her growing-up years in Missouri. She graduated from Moberly Senior High, attended Moberly Area Community College, and finished her education, a Bachelors degree in business administration, from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. Currently, Mrs. Fuller works as a corporate trainer in the financial services industry and resides in Arizona. Her passions are art, music, reading, family and sports. The World of Paro series, her first, was written to provide an escape from this worldinto a better one. The authors desire to write came after a short succession of events in life that helped her realize her zeal for fiction/fantasy writing. During her first year of college, she worked at Scholastic Books, Inc. taking book orders over the phone from teachers. While there, she was immersed in the world of fiction and found that reading was more than just a pastime; it was the breath of life. From then on, she read everything she could get her hands on, loving fiction and fantasy most especially. She was never more devastated than when a story ended. She wanted the worlds to goon. It was then that she decided that if a fantasy story were to live on, to never end, she would have to create her own. She wanted to provide the same escape from life to others who read for the same reason. It was then that Majee Legends was born.
I really liked this book. I didn't consider myself a reader until about 2 months ago and I certainly didn't consider myself to be interested in fantasy books, this book has proven me wrong! I was afraid I would have a hard time following the storyline but it was easy to follow. Fuller put a lot of thought into this book. I really like her take on magic and power, it is a fresh new outlook on a world full of good and evil. I didn't want this book to end, I can't wait for the next book in the saga to come out!
The authoress let me read this book a while ago. I'm not the fantasy type, per se, but I did enjoy this story. The plot was complex and the setting thought out completely. I can't give a run down on the story line since it has been a while, but she took a troubled family and added a dash of magic to it and voila, a great story. I look forward to seeing the other books in print.
One of my dearest friends from MO wrote this book and it's still pretty hot off the press. I haven't read it yet, but my husband's been saying good things about it. We're trying to be impartial even though she's a good friend. We love her, so naturally we're going to love the book. It's classified as fantasy, but it's not hardcore, just a good story.
I just finished reading this book. While it took me a bit to get into this book, once I got about halfway through, I was hooked. I was a little bothered by nit-picky stuff (like inconsistency in spelling & pronunciation for new words/made up names), but I think this was a great first book and I think Ms. Fuller shows great promise. I look forward to the next book!
This is a really fun book. Both Jordan and I read it and liked it except that there is a "drop off" (as Jordan calls it) at the end---we'll have to wait for the next one to see what happens and Jordan is too impatient to like that:) -ha too much like his mother in that area I'm afraid. We can't wait to read more of the story.
