Dr. Joseph Mercola is a natural health expert based in Illinois. He believes that people are capable of taking control of their health – they can harness their body’s ability to stay optimally healthy. He shares his recommendations through his website, Mercola.com. It is one of the leading natural health websites today, with over one million subscribers worldwide.
Dr. Mercola has authored three New York Times best sellers, "The Great Bird Flu Hoax", "The No Grain Diet", and his latest book, “Effortless Healing”, which he has written as an easy-to-read guide that can help you avoid the many pitfalls of the conventional approach to health through nine simple steps or healing principles.
A lot of good information on a wide range of health topics, focusing on a nutritious healthy eating plan. Not your conventional Western medicine dogma- he presents solid research and evidence that there has to be a better way to control our health than through prescription drugs. I also subscribe to his website www.mercola.com and appreciate the informative articles.
If you are new to natural health or nutrition as medicine, this is the book for you - it is a great overview - giving you a lot of principles you can build on.
I've had a desire to become healthier and decided on doing some research to figure out how to go about doing so. I only read about 3/4 of the chapters within the book because they were all that I needed. However, Dr. Mercola was rather confusing when talking about Melanoma, I often had to go to my mom (who has recently suffered from it) to clear some things up. She agrees the what he does say about contradicts just about everything else he's said about it, but did agree with him on the chapter about vaccines. I'm takin what I HAVE read from this book and hopefully use it in the near future. However, when it comes to melanoma topics, I would really just contact a dermatologist, most of what he said was so contradictory that it sounded like crud.
