If you love Potter, you know there are literally hundreds of characters. The major ones, of course, are easy to remember, but the myriad of other magical folk are sometimes forgotten until you re-read or watch the movies over and over. This book puts them all together and gives you a short synopsis on each to trigger those beloved Potter memories.
I liked the idea of how this book provided almost every name ever mentioned in the Wizarding world! I learnt many things from some characters and I discovered characters that I had no idea existed. Nice little collectable book that will be added to my Wizarding World of Harry Potter collection! I gave this book 3.5 stars!
I'm not sure what you are intended to use this book for since the main characters are all familiar and the others are one time mentions. Still, it was fun reading through and checking out brothers and offspring with whom we weren't familiar. There's a bit of misspelling and misplaced modifiers but the articles are good, including the professional quidditch teams. There is a definite temptation to venture onto the Mugglenet and into other realms, but so far I have resisted. I had hoped for information about the frog card characters but that information is located elsewhere and belongs to Rowling herself.
I am pleased that I bought this book to add to my Harry Potter collection however I felt this book's purpose cold have been used better. I really liked the way the book was laid out in the a-z format of characters but the problem with the book for me was that a large number of the characters in this book could have been left out to make use of the pages for a better purpose because some of the characters were 'one time mentions' in the books and to find them in the Harry Potter books you would have to trawl through to find them. They could have been left out and made space for pictures and more information about the characters that are recurring, main characters and characters of relevance. On the whole though a nice addition to anyone Harry Potter fan's collection.
This book is a very comprehensive collection of characters, not only from Harry Potter, but also Fantastic Beasts and Cursed Child. From the characters who are not even seen, just briefly mentioned to central characters, all have entries.
I loved how much material was covered. It was really broad and comprehensive, with interesting magical facts about major characters. In addition, quotes appeared in the entries for major characters as well.
The book also had other entries, such as lists of Ministers of Magic, Quidditch Teams and a short history of Ilvermorny. If you wanted a way to learn about characters in this magical world, this is it.
I love this book. It has helped me a lot in writing my fanfiction. I am able to find characters that I can use and also not worry about having to stick to a certain personality. I love utilizing the more obscure characters because, you don't often get to see them. Personally, I think this book is a huge win for any Harry Potter fan, regardless of if you write fanfiction or not. I also love using this book to just say random facts about Harry Potter to confuse my family. While I personally have the whole collection, I think that this one and the guide to the magical (and non-magical) creatures one are the best.
From A to Z comprising of characters not only from the Harry Potter books but also wizardingworld.com, Fantastic beasts & so on, this is an absolute joy to read for all Potterheads. It also makes a wonderful gift for fans of Harry Potter if you don't mind a slight blip as below.
The only error that I found was for one of the Weasleys' offspring which stated that the child's father was Fred Weasley instead of George; had reached out to the publisher but no response yet.
It’s a pretty good book. It was clearly well-researched, and I found most of it very interesting. There were a few inconsistencies, such as Hermione not being listed on the Ministers of Magic page and Ron not being mentioned as a wizard who appears on a chocolate frog card. I also wish they would have used better quotes for some of the characters. The quotes seemed so random and irrelevant.
Interesting potted biographies of characters in the Harry Potter universe. As I have only read the first main books and watched the movies, a goodly number of the characters are unfamiliar but I enjoyed the book.
These are so silly to read but I love them idc idc idc.
They also forgot some important information such as adding babygirl to the bio of everyone who was a babygirl. But on a real note they also didn't tag Fred as #dead oops.
As a Harry Potter fanatic I absolutely loved this book. I found it very interesting to learn about the different people in the wizarding world and what they did. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to know more about the wizarding world and it's inhabitants.
Quite an extensive collection of every name ever mentioned throughout the entire HP universe - books, movies (including the Fantastic Beasts ones), video games, plays, etc... Complete with noteworthy details and where they were sourced.
If you ever read or watched something related to the Harry Potter universe and wondered, "Huh, I wonder who that person they mentioned is/was." Well, wonder no more! This is an excellent encyclopedia-type book. Five stars!
Information overload here! So. Much. Information. It's great knowledge to have and a great reference to refer back to when needed. Now to read the last four in this series!

There’s a lot of characters I forgot existed. The main character descriptions were just 3 pages each of recapping the Harry Potter series. Fun info? Yes. Redundant? Also yes.
The major characters have more info about them, including a synopsis of their parts played during the books, movies and plays. The minor characters are named, where they were mentioned and if possible a brief history of them.
