After a night of drunken debauchery following the defeat of the academy's headmistress, Lucas awakens to trouble on all fronts. The steady balance of power within the Imperium has been shaken by his's presence, and the resulting aftermath is a town full of heavily armed and well-staffed enemies that seek Lucas's death. Lucas must not only survive their assault but also manage his own slowly crumbling internal affairs when his party begins to fracture. Angered by Lucas's increasingly selfish actions, some of his closest allies are tempted to turn against him.
Follow our protagonist while he tries to grow his influence within the empire, survive the daggers in his back from Imperium traitors, and restore the relationship he truly wants with the woman he has slowly fallen in love with in this epic litrpg adventure from Charles Dean.
I was left with a personal story from the author that resonated with me. I feel fortunate that Charles made himself vulnerable and shared something personal. Truth is that writing is a very personal pursuit. Books give you a glimpse of the person who wrote them.
This third installment wasn't what I had expected, but it was still a great read. Charles Dean has the ability to craft stories that glue you to your book (or device) when reading his works. I'm grateful for The Heroic Villain series and will patiently wait for the author's next adventure.
This is a great continuation of the series. Although I can't help but think about all the references to other books in this one. Especially when Katie referenced her Great great great great grandpa Lee who said that Lucas was a good guy.
Another well written book thats better than it should be. Lots a emotional progress and exploration in this one, and it works. Cant wait for them to start rampaging across the world!
Everything was really great about this book it was one of my favorite stories. The only issue was i didn't expect it to end so suddenly. There is still a lot about the story I want to know.
Feels like it lost it's way early on and never got back on topic. The characters did not feel like they developed but more like they flopped. Overall it is still a fun read but a disappointment in the overall series.
I absolutely love this. Just a good conclusion all around, character growth. Realistic emotions. The ending was a little bit rushed, but honestly I think it was better rush than drug out. Which really seems like the only other option. I'm really happy with this
As always the pacing was on point. The characters were likeable and felt fleshed out. I didn't even really feel like reading today but I still managed to inhale this book and feel confused about where all the time had gone.
That pretty much sums up my view if the book. I liked the characters and the story and am sad there will be no more. The ending was not what i expected but... It was still good and it fit.
This next chapter of Lucas’s story I have thoroughly enjoyed. I care not how long the wait is but how good the story is. And it does not get better than this.
A great book didnt realise this was the end though so am rather sad but hope there will be more wonderful stories written by Charles in the near future
A good conclusion to the story, but I can't help but want more. It was so entertaining that I want to read what happens later and follow the stories of everyone afterwards.
Decent ending to a series, but I wouldn't mind seeing more. The villain main character approach is often a fun read. Always a fan of this author's work.
One of my favorite series to date. As always I desperately look forward to future works by this author and enjoy every moment I spend emersed in the worlds he creates.
This book was an enjoyable continuation of the series. The MC continues to see growth in the series as do many of the side characters and the story progression holds interest and adventure. The storyline with the Queen is intriguing and definitely requires a delicate balance. to see his own use of charisma turned on him in when he is dealing with the rat king was an ironic twist.
Overall, I recommend reading this series. It is fun, adventurous with lots of action and fantasy elements.

Good conclusion to the series. It kind of surprised me that things got wrapped up in this books but I appreciated that Dean finishes his projects and doesn’t endless leave us hanging. Really fun series!
