UCL ScratchMaths is a set of sequenced materials designed to engage 9-11 year old children with mathematical concepts through their exploration using pre-built progams in Scratch. Children not only develop key mathematical skills but also crucial computational concepts. Module 1 Introduces the key computational concepts of sequencing, repetition, algorithm, debugging and definition as well as linking to symmetry, angles and negative numbers through building circular patterns. This product supports Module 1: Tiling Scratch Maths uses the free of charge Scratch programming language. It is recommended to use a device with a physical keyboard and to use the Free Kindle Reading App for Mac or the Free Kindle reading App for PC. Scratch is currently available on desktops and mobile devices with Scratch 3.0. However, mobile devices cannot use keyboard controls, which are essential for many projects. Scratch is currently not available as a mobile app, though the Scratch Team is developing an app for larger mobile devices.
