UCL ScratchMaths is a set of sequenced materials designed to engage 9-11 year old children with mathematical concepts through their exploration using pre-built progams in Scratch. Children not only develop key mathematical skills but also crucial computational concepts. Module 3 focuses on parallelism and building behaviours for multiple sprites, firstly isolated reactions to an event (when this sprite clicked), using conditions and expressions linked to coordinates, and then implementing interactions between multiple sprites using broadcasting. This product supports Module 3: Interacting Scratch Maths uses the free of charge Scratch programming language. It is recommended to use a device with a physical keyboard and to use the Free Kindle Reading App for Mac or the Free Kindle reading App for PC. Scratch is currently available on desktops and mobile devices with Scratch 3.0. However, mobile devices cannot use keyboard controls, which are essential for many projects. Scratch is currently not available as a mobile app, though the Scratch Team is developing an app for larger mobile devices.
