After surviving Mistress Nava’s wrath, Elorion is banished from Sanctuary and everything he holds dear. He finds himself on an impossible quest to retrieve something from Lord Darius’s vault for the Head Mistress in hopes of bringing everyone back together.
Thorne never disappoints! Another fantastic book in his Underworld series. I can’t wait for the book 6.
You better stick to your estimate for releasing book 6 in the last quarter of 2020 Mr. Thorne. I need more books in this series!!!
If you haven’t read this series yet, you are missing out. Underworld is one of my favorite LitRPG series.
Overall, Vampire Gate was a really nice addition to the series and offered a great change of page. Where the other books where flee, then fight, then fight the next powerful thing, this book has more World Building and centered on Elorion and gaining a new magic and getting strong enough to reunite Sanctuary and take on the Vampires.
Apollos Thorne has in this series everything that makes this genre great. Kudos on the best installment yet. Only sad it had to end. Easily rivaling for the top spot with Aldrin Kong and his Land series. Waiting impatiently for the next installment to this and the Codename series that is equally well done. PLEASE HURRY lol. Thank you for the in depth plot and explaining the mana/core points on the magic system. Makes everything so much easier to understand. While i like the stats and leveling included some don't do the story isn't watered down with to much to understand. Very well done all around!
Unsurprisingly another fantastic read. So much information about magic world building, so much actual progress in character skills and levels, but also actual development. True dilemmas forcing decisions, new options for our crew. I cannot wait to see how the story continues yet again.
The story continues as our human friends are exposed to more and more of the underworld.
I'm glad that we are starting to see the "world" at large and that we are experiencing more of the uniqueness of the main character and the other protagonists. Having a pseudo-main character in Travis was really good this time around.
Apparently I have read this book before and never reviewed it. Must have been really busy at that time. I can't give you my normal review because I don't remember much about this book. I could re-read and post but honestly I'm going straight to book six. I do know that I enjoy the series and recommend it for OP characters.
This book was everything I love about the series, and finally the mc was away from most of the group and could do his own thing. I only have the whole teenage love sick drama plot but it still works. Keep the good times rolling.
This series continues to be one of my favourites, the MC is focused and the world building is complex yet believable! The introduction of the new fractions in this book has made me want more, which sighs a Q4 book 6 I know I'm going to have to wait!
Apollos never disappoints! And yet again he has brought another amazing book! Elorion is yet again on a journey to grow. Except this time at a way faster pace. Get sucked in to the underworld as Apollos draws you into a litrpg world that feels alive.
Sets up a whole new arc, ties up a few things and introduces more story lines to explore in the future. One of my favorite fun series is getting serious and I love it.
This book is the best one yet. It's great to see some real character skill grinding and development. Thorne always seems to step things up a notch in each sequel.
Another fun entry in the series. Was worried they were powering up too quick but they get brought back to earth in this one. Looking forward to the next installment.
First, my review: “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
Over the past year it has become apparent that my reviews are somewhat antagonistic and I apologize to those of you that have taken offense. I think I had hoped to change peoples’ minds about reviewing works of art and that seems to have backfired spectacularly. However, I am still going to be true to myself and write what I believe.
To the author: Thank you for this chance to escape reality and enjoy the world you created! Keep up the good work.
To my fellow reviewers: Messaging me and reviewing my reviews is as productive as trying to shovel water out of the ocean. Stop. I get it. Let’s just all live peacefully.
To potential readers: Art needs to be experienced at an individual level. You are the only one that can determine what you like and don’t like. Don’t let others make that decision for you. You should definitely read the book and completely ignore all of the reviews. You are a much better judge of what you will like than anyone here.
Solid book - it has all of the elements that make the series what it is while advancing the plot. This book introduced enough new elements to keep things interesting while staying inline with the overall series. I really appreciate that the book and series is refrwshingly clean. The relationships are real - not the imagined 'ideal' of a hormone charged male teenager with a X rated fantasy fetish. There is real sacrifice involved. This is very refreshing Apollos - thank you. Looking forward to more!
This was enjoyable but seemed to just be going through the paces.
Nothing really important seemed to happen and the MC didn’t seem to struggle through any of the milestones. He started the story under 1000 and when it ends he has gone MUCH further but it really doesn’t seem like anything happened in the meantime. Even the climax seemed to have come and gone fast.
There was a lot of world that was discovered that was revealing but I was expecting more plot.
Pretty great to see the series go back to the grinding and leveling side of things in this book. Was also nice to see the MC in a smaller group of people and without his constant literal hanger-on.
I just hope that the MC keeps his hate for the succubus for the remainder of the story. Can't say why, but have the feeling he might spare them by the end for some kind of twist and that would suck major ass.
Not a lot of forward progress in the story but a lot of growth in power. Not sure if the growth is narrative based or if there is an actual system developed by the author serving as a guide. I love the book and the series but this is LitRPG light. More fantasy with a RPG glaze. Look forward to the rest of the series!
I'm enjoying the way the author takes an overpowered hero and places him in a massively overpowered world so that he is always at risk. The romantic distance creates an interesting plot driver and I found it difficult to put the book down as a result. Can hardly wait until the next book as I'm really enjoying this series!
A lot of books are better in the beginning. Everything is new, learning how to level and getting incredible power, it’s awesome! Somehow, somehow Apollos manages to keep this feeling up throughout the series. So far anyway, but this is the fourth book! That is unprecedented.
Captivating and stimulating storytelling at its best
Reading this was like coming across a remastered version of one of one's all time favorite games that is beautifully crafted. It is engrossing, makes me identify closely with the protagonist, and kept me enthralled from start to finish. Thanks to the author for another bunch of well spent hours reading a fantastic book!
The plot progressed, but nothing too groundbreaking happened. It actually felt a little slow for how short it was. I still enjoyed it though, and will continue with the series.
If you’ve read this far then why are you reading this? You already love this series. If you are checking out reviews on the series before buying book 1, then it is awesome so buy book one.
Wow, talk about a fantastic plot progression. There are a ton of litrpg series that are derailed for me a few books in as they just become repetitive leveling without any story progression. This is outstanding. So much happening. Bring on the next one, please!
This book is back to form. It's easier to follow when it just focuses on the main character. Once again, it's very creative with it's magic uses and ways of mixing magic. I would certainly recommend this book the whole series. Excellent Job!
Another great book in the Underworld series. It was just as enjoyed and fun to read as the rest of the series. And to top it all off it is clean! I can't wait for the next one!
Another great addition to the series even if it felt like some of our beloved characters were missing in this one the set up for the next part of the series was fantastic and really refreshing.
