Not sure what to make of this book so plan to read more about Wallis Simpson to see if I can find more information regarding this plot. The author calls this book a "work of faction" and bases the story on an unnamed and undated manuscript he found hidden inside of an antique desk bought by his wife some 50 years after the event supposedly happened. He tracked down the writer of this manuscript/journal & reveals the name at the end of the book. The book is 2 stories woven together .....the journal along with added information by the author.

Quotes from the book jacket ..... Was there indeed such a plot, or is the manuscript simply a record of it's writer's fantasy? Is the account of Fisher's discovery and the ensuring "detection" fiction altogether? Both stories have the ring of truth; the final decision must be up to the reader. But whatever the conclusion, this is a completely involving tale of puzzle and solution that adds an aura of suspense to the historic romance. Graham Fisher is an English author who has published numerous books about the Royal family in his native Britain.
