This is such a sweet story. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of the expected heat but Terry and Maggie are a great couple. They have flaws but they both do what they can for each other and Maggie's kids. This is a perfect example of how the best laid plans can be quickly destroyed. It's what you do with the remnants that count! ❤🎉 I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Fans Of The Dom's Submission Will Be Thrilled To Read About Terry And Maggie And Their New Life Together!

La Petite Mort Club is a private club catering to those with similar interests in kink and offering a safe place to meet up and indulge. This is the fourth book in La Petite Mort Club Intimate Encounters series. Each is a quick read.

His Imperfect Day is a stand-alone that follows Terry and Maggie's story from The Dom's Submission. It covers Terry and Maggie's first day of their family vacation to the beach. It comes after the couple spends a weekend at the club. Books one and three of the series, His Lesson and His Love, tell that story. Book two, Playing House, tells the story of Nick and Sarah’s weekend watching Maggie’s three young children.

From The Dom's Submission:

Terry, in his mid forties, fell for Maggie when she bumped into him at La Petite Mort Club, where he had been a member for years following his difficult divorce. It was obvious that she had never been there before and was desperately looking for someone. She reminded him of a scared little rabbit. Short, curvy, and innocent, she was definitely not his type, but he had to have her. He hadn't needed to chase a woman in years, and Maggie put his patience to the test. Even after her seduction she proved to be a challenge that he couldn't walk away from. He tried, but it hurt too much, and his friends from the club were no help. They thought she was good for him.

Maggie had only been divorced a year when her ex-sister-in-law and former friend lured her, unsuspecting, into a private club for a rowdy open night event. While she never found her friend inside, she did acquire an admirer. Unfortunately, the single mom of three, ages two to eight, didn't have the time for a relationship and wasn't into flings. But the arrogant, rude, brutally honest hunk of man pursued her until all her silly excuses melted away. The man wanted nothing to do with her children, so though she gave in to some adult fun, she knew it was only temporary.

Terry eventually comes to terms with his need to have Maggie in his life, children and all, and Maggie realizes that underneath his rudeness, the man she has grown to love is a kind and very good man.

From La Petite Mort Club Intimate Encounters:

This series opens several months after the couple works things out. Maggie and the children now live with Terry and his dog, Beast. Terry, who hasn't taken a vacation in years, has agreed to take his family away for a ten day vacation over spring break. He makes good use of their time away, hiring a contractor to soundproof the master bedroom in their absence. That way hearing Maggie scream as he pleasures her will no longer be confined to every other weekend when the children visit their father.

Maggie arranges a surprise for Terry's birthday. Immediately preceding their trip, their friends Nick and Sarah agree to watch the children so that she and Terry can spend a weekend at the club. This is a momentous occasion because Terry has never brought Maggie there. She is new to his world and is still learning how to be a sub; he cannot be as forgiving with her at the club. Additionally, she will be on display and doesn't want to embarrass Terry, who has a reputation for his control.

Terry doesn't believe she is ready, but Maggie wants so much to please him that she willingly takes the plunge. Nevertheless, she still harbors insecurities that could derail their weekend. She fears that Terry hasn't brought her there yet because he is embarrassed by her. And more importantly, despite Terry's constant reassurances about her beauty, Maggie has not recovered from the body shaming she received from her ex-husband who left her when she hadn't lost her baby weight, calling her fat. She isn't comfortable in her own skin, so displaying herself for others to see will take considerable courage.

In His Imperfect Day:

Terry and Maggie leave the club feeling refreshed, but once they pick up the kids from Nick and Sarah the reality of family life returns. Terry had made a mistake over their weekend at the club that he has every intention of rectifying. Toward that effort, he plans a perfect first day of vacation. It includes the beach and a picnic, followed by some alone time and a sincere admission of his love for Maggie. Terry had let it slip that he loves her over the weekend, but hadn’t meant for it to come out the way it had, nor for it to be under such circumstances. She has been open about her love for him, but he had sworn off love years ago. As difficult as it is, he needs open his heart to her.

When Terry’s perfect plans turn topsy-turvy, his patience is put to the test. Maggie’s ex-husband had a short fuse, so she is particularly sensitive to how others treat her children. She also has insecurities and is still adjusting to being a Sub, so making it through a perfect day with the kids was already going to be a challenge. But as one after another of Terry’s plans are a miss, he resigns himself to failure. Then it gets even worse. But at the end of their imperfect day together, Terry and Maggie find that the chaos has only served to bring them closer together.

Fans of The Dom's Submission will be thrilled to read about Terry and Maggie and their new life together. The story of their first day of family vacation at the beach is la light-hearted look into their family life and the challenges they face raising Maggie’s three young children. This is a very quick read, though the writing is sometimes tedious. The plot is very simple. The characters are well-defined in context (having the read The Dom's Submission). Terry pulls out all the stops here to show Maggie how much he loves her and her children. Maggie’s self-image is improved and she discovers how much she enjoys being a caretaker. It is written in the third person. The POV alternates between Terry and Maggie. I rate this book 3.5 stars.

Terry tries to create the perfect setting to let Maggie know how he really feels, but three young children are determined to spoil his plans. Well worth reading as a standalone, but if you haven't already, do read 'The Dom's Submission' and the other two stories first. Brilliant characters that I adore.

Who tries to have a Perfect Day – with kids? I love to read about Terry, Maggie and the kids! Okay – I went through this book so fast, that I didn’t find myself having enough. I love Maggie’s kids, they are a hoot. Izzy is too smart for her own good, Peter needs a hazard sign around him and Davy – well he is just too cute…. Okay so this story is not just about the kids, but of what Terry is trying to do for the family. He wants that perfect day with the kids and Maggie, but Izzy is not having fish pee on her and Peter and Davy messed up the lunch and well Maggie didn’t know she shouldn’t have shaved… I won’t say any more, but this is a keeper. I would love to see Terry and Maggie marry and have on of their own, but there are three already that Terry seems to love, so I guess extra kids aren’t needed, but maybe a marriage proposal of some sort. Their scenes are always hot and I know they will be more to come, but the family life that Terry never thought of having is perfect for them both.

This is a short, easy read with so many true to life scenarios I couldn't help but have empathy for both Terry and Maggie. It's the first day of their vacation together and Terry wants it to be perfect for not only him and Maggie but for Maggie's three children as well. A day at the beach. What could be more perfect, right? Have you ever heard the old adage, 'The best laid plans of mice and men'? Yeah, if it could go wrong, it did. Terry is frustrated, Maggie's insecurities from her ex's behavior towards the kids comes into play, the kids are kids. But take heart, they've somehow pulled it off with the help of Ellis O. Day. If you're like me, you'll even find yourself chuckling a few times. Oh, and don't let me forget to mention …. The chemistry in the scenes is still HOT as ever!!!

I really enjoyed this book. It told the story of the family vacation Terry took Maggie and her kids on after the couple's nights at the club and after he told her about his feelings of love for her. The kids caused chaos in the middle of his perfect planned day and it caused him a lot of irritation. Like all of the stories based on La Petite Mort Club, this story was dirty but the majority of the story focused on the family and what happened to them during their vacation, which I enjoyed just as much as the other stories in this series. I can't wait to read the next book!

Terry surprised me!

I have grown to like Terry while reading his story, but he finally won me over with his actions in this story. He has the perfect day planned and almost everything that could go wrong does. How he chooses to handle it was amazing. He made me melt and it wasn't even from the bedroom.
He just wants them all to be happy.

Some laugh out loud moments along with heart felt emotion. So good.

Maggie and Terry are going down the path.

Maggie and Terry spent the weekend in the Club. They've confessed their love. She's now moved in with Terry. Terry is learning how to live with Maggie's children. Everything is going so well, he plans a special day for them. You'll have to read the rest of the story to see the twists and turns.

Short and Sweet!

All of the books in Terry and Maggie’s lives are easy to read and shows their personality’s and why they are surely supposed to be together. I also liked his Dom who was a great guy and didn’t always punish Maggie.

How does one manage the perfect family vacation? Can it be done? Better yet, can it be sexy? Join Terry, Maggie, and her three children for a posh beach resort vacation. I love the values, respect realistic situations these characters get into.

This is such a short sweet story, I never thought I would say that about Terry's and Maggie's relationship. I loved reading how their story progressed. After confessing their love for each other now the children are included. This was a great ending, I wish it would go on and on.

I enjoyed the entire series about Maggie and Terry. The ups and the downs. The self growth that finely started to allow them to trust themselves and each other. I was proud to read a book series that showed a man with a strong honor towards children and respect towards a mother's feelings that those children must come first above all else and I don't even have children.

A witty, heartwarming story, befitting a well-known series. I read many books Ellis wrote of the characters connected to the La Petite Mort Club. Each of Maggie and Terry’s story is a great, well-written and edited read, with first-class character descriptions, good use of the language, with engaging, imaginative plots. This book fits well into their series and immerses the reader in a subject matter which is a topic many people would identify with. Children vs. second chances are not always a harmonious combination. The ones that work on establishing a good connection with the children are the ones that win the relationship. Terry puts tremendous efforts into organising a great day at the beach for Maggie and her 3 children. It is practically guaranteed that not everything will be a hit with the kids, but poor Terry gets a dose of parenthood to come. Practically nothing he planned turns out the way he had hoped and by the end of the day, he is in acute pain involving his entire body, along with a not insignificant degree of sunburn all over his back. However, it is only in adversity that we find out what cloth a person is made of, thus to his great surprise, Maggie couldn’t be more impressed with his efforts and approach to family life. The storyline is delivered not only with steam but with a great degree of honesty and tremendous amounts of wit and humour. This is a very entertaining, enjoyable book that I would happily recommend.

Terry is bound and determined to give his love, Maggie, the perfect day at the beach. The kids are coming too, and he also wants it to be a fun and relaxing family day. He does intend for some of that relaxation to be just for him and Maggie. And while they watch the kids play in the surf, he intends to shower Maggie with the perfect words of love. He works hard to make everything perfect and he doesn’t want her to lift a finger, so he’s got everything planned and pre-organized. But, knowing Terry, and with a title like ‘His Imperfect Day,’ we kind of know what hilarious direction this is heading in. The author includes lots of comical scenes, a ton of the kind of lovemaking we know Maggie and Terry indulge in and it ends in one of the hottest scenes I’ve ever read! This author’s characters are so realistic, so well fleshed-out, and so appealing, that you just come to love them. They’re the kind of folks you’d love to live next door to or be best friends with. It’s a quick read (too quick for me!), but I loved it—Five stars!

I could not wait to read this story. As soon as I received it, I started it. This was a great book and I loved seeing Terry with Maggie and her kids. Terry always wants things to be perfect, he wants to plan things and things to go how he plans, but once children are involved nothing goes as planned. This book made me fall in love with Terry more. Of course was the love sections hot, yes, but this is more than hot sex.

The story about Terry and Maggie continues and I still love this couple like I did in the previous stories. Terry is still dreamy, with everything he does and says. However I would have loved the story even more if it was told in the first person instead of third. 4.5 stars

This is a brilliant book. It’s a fun read, anyone who has ever planned anything but has kids can relate to this book. It didn’t quite go to plan, but they got there in the end. Don’t worry though as there is some steam in this story as well.

More hilarious adventures of Maggie and Terry. Terry plans the perfect day at the beach with Maggie and her kids to show her how much he loves her. But it turns into Murphy's Law when everything goes wrong. He tries so hard but it's one hilarious misadventure after the other. Lots of good chuckles and of course lots of fantastic love scenes. My only complaint is it's length. I want more!
