Despair can take you to the pits of hell. It’s your choice to rise or burn.
After a prominent judge is found murdered in his home with an odd sequence of numbers left at the scene, Detectives Daniels and Remalla begin to unravel the clues and hunt for a killer.
While they investigate, former detective Jill Jacobs returns, determined to find the mysterious man linked to three previous murders, and whose mystifying past, strange connections and dangerous abilities make him impossible to find and even harder to catch.
Jill’s persistence requires her to dive deeper into her psychic gifts and her search leads her to Madison and Jace. Their reconnection and revelations about their strange history will lure out the man they seek, but drawing his attention brings unintended consequences.
As Remalla and Daniels hunt a killer and Jill, Madison, and Jace pursue much-needed answers, long-held secrets are exposed that will threaten each of them. Secrets that will reveal how far they are willing to go to stop a madman, even if that madman may be one of their own.
Fourth Strike is the fourth book in the gripping "The Family or Foe Saga" suspense series featuring Detectives Daniels and Remalla. The series is best read in order.
Award-winning author, J.T. Bishop, is a writer of mystery thrillers with a supernatural edge. Growing up, she read books by Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, and Dean Koontz, devoured every episode of The X-files, and watched plenty of TV shows with great partnerships that left her wanting more. She loves tangled relationships, unexpected twists and turns, heart-stopping love stories and the complications that come with all the above. Throw in a little supernatural fun and she’s hooked. Her evil plan is to hook you, too.
She’s the author of The Red-Line Trilogy and its sister series, The Fletcher Family Saga, which features touches of urban fantasy, light sci-fi, and paranormal romance. She’s also happily writing mystery thrillers featuring two charismatic detectives who may occasionally encounter a supernatural villain or two, and a crossover series which follows the exploits of a gifted, but troubled, paranormal P.I. and his spunky sister.
All the above keeps her busy, but in her spare time, she loves a good movie, tasty food, an unfortunate sugar addiction, and traveling.

I just finished "Fourth Strike" by J.T. Bishop. This is the last book in the "A Family of Foe Thriller" series with Detectives Daniels and Remalla. As in the previous three books, what appears to be separate murders, separate investigations, has a surprise tie-in.
But oh, Ms. Bishop. You are a clever writer. You've created characters I want to know more about, that I've grown to care about, which means to learn more about Jill, Maddison and Jace, their backstory and how it all began, I must now turn to "The Red Line Trilogy" series to get those questions answered. To see what's ahead for the two detectives with their wit and well-written banter, I can turn to a new series simply named, "Detectives Daniels and Remalla."
You might think as a reader I would be perturbed, except that these characters are seared into my brain, and I do indeed want more. I truly like them. So, well done, Ms. Bishop. My only complaint is that I'm going to have to clear an entire shelf in my library (and yes, I still buy books) to hold them all! But this book, like the others, was a fun read, filled with action, emotions, friendships, a bit of the paranormal, and one I could simply not put down. You write that you hope your books will be an escape for the reader, and indeed they are. Indeed they are.
This is the 4th in the series about Detective Daniels and Rem. If you read the first 3, you know what a good relationship they have and will enjoy the back and forth between them while they solve cases.
This one wraps up and tells you the story that links them all together. Jill (who is Rem's girlfriend) is back and I really love her character. She is trying to find out what Rem might know some things behind the murder of Rick, her former fiance. She has flown back from Seattle to find out the secret behind her birth.
Daniels and Rem can't help her right now as they are on a serial murder case where someone is shooting a judge and DA. He know Jill is going to be risking her life as he know the person that might be involved and wants to keep her safe.
This was a blend of supernatural and a real thriller!! I plan to read more about Daniels and Rem!
I just finished reading all four books in this series. All of J.T. Bishop’s characters are so well developed, you can almost believe they truly exist. She takes you on a journey that makes you want to keep going. Detectives Daniels and Remalla encounter unusual circumstances in their cases. In this series, their are four siblings who were raised separately and knew nothing of each other except for one of them who was aware of the other three. Their discovery of each other and the intention of one of them is intriguing with some surprising turns.
It’s not often that I binge read a series of books, but the “Family or Foe” four titles was a must finish sooner than later. With just the right mix of thrilling mystery and paranormal elements, the four siblings separated after birth, each with different special abilities, all 4 books were page turners. Bishop does a great job in book’s 1,2 and 3 to tell the story of each sibling - Jill, Madison, and Jace with hints of who “Rutger” might be in relationship to the others. Book four unravels the link “Rutgers” has to the others and wraps up the series really well. Little do “Rutger’s” siblings know what he intends to do, even with assistance from Sonia who has powers of her own. Now onto the next series which involves some of the same characters. Happy Reading!
Fourth Strike: A Murder Mystery Paranormal Thriller (The Family or Foe Saga with Detectives Daniels and Remalla Book 4), my tenth read from author J.T. Bishop. This 324-page psychic suspense thriller was well-written & flowed smoothly & quickly “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author Of Mind and Madness: A Murder Mystery Suspense Thriller (Detectives Daniels and Remalla Book 4) is next on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Each book in this series keeps getting better than the one before it. With two different worlds coming together, the real and the paranormal, the story intensifies. Becomes more intriguing. The characters are so charismatic, so realistic, and so compatible you can almost see them in your minds eye. Anticipating book 5 to be no different.
This is a great paranormal read. I only put it down grudgingly and got right back to it asap. So well written that I felt like a character observing and involved. Terror, grief, joy and connection are just a few of the emotions and feelings elicited by J.T. Bishop in this riveting read.
A superb ending to a four book series. I really enjoy reading about Daniels and Remalla and everyone who passes through their lives. Love this author and everything she writes.
Wow, this one is probably the best yet. If you have read some of the others you’ll know all about Rutger. Well this this one carries that on in spades. I couldn’t put it down. Roll on book five. Highly recommended.
The final book in the Family or Foe saga ties up loads of loose ends from the other three stories and it’s not a surprise that I flew through the final one!
We find out that Jill (the victim of Book 1), Madison (Book 2) and Jace (Book 3) are actually all siblings, born on the same day and the same year and the killer is too. This made it really interesting and although this was obvious, it helped the story flow.
It also explained why they all seemed to have supernatural powers. When I started reading the books I found that fact really jarring but it fit right in here and it was great to see them working on their “powers.”
There’s another case for Detectives Daniels and Remalla, a shooting, with strange numbers being left. As police they deal with these sort of cases every day, but when it’s them that are the targets- it flips the scene slightly.
When it came out that everything leads them back to the same killer again it all felt like everything had come full circle.
I don’t want to give away too much but the finale of the book was so dramatic I had to keep reading to see what kept happening!
I really enjoyed this book and the entire series 4/5 stars!
