Wow what an epic conclusion to the series!!!! First of all, this is the hottest of all three books if you can believe that! And the story is so intense and exciting and wow! So much happens here! I love this series so much! There are so many new people in this book and the war is brewing and the relationships between and among the main characters are strengthening and growing and developing further. That last part is so beautiful and incredibly hot. The author did an amazing job with everything, the way she expanded the world, the way she developed the characters and their relationships further and the way she spun this amazing story. I seriously love her more and more with each book. Oh, let me not forget to mention that she still did not repeat a scene after so many books! Her hot and steamy factor is rising and her originality is unparalleled. And although I am sad to say goodbye to Maisie and her family, I have to say that they got the bestest most amazing story and the author did them justice. But the best part is that she left so many hints and avenues for expansion and spin offs that I can’t wait to see what happens next! I love this author so much and I am so happy I found her and I will love her work forever. Books need to be read in order: The Basilisk Princess (The Lasina Chronicles Book 1), The Basilisk Queen (The Lasina Chronicles Book 2), and The Basilisk Empress (The Lasina Chronicles Book 3).
I’ll admit I’m not a fan of snakes so I was worried that would completely turn me off of the story but it didn’t. There were plenty of snake references and lots of shifted scenes in their basilisk forms. Even though snakes in real life scare the living daylights out of me, this unique take on a RH romance was fun and refreshing to read.
Maisie had the most character growth out of all the characters I think. She annoyed me at times in the first book with her immature tantrums and selfishness but she has embraced her life in Lasina and has grown into a strong leader. I can appreciate when an author can create a character that goes through so much growth and development. It makes the characters seem less one dimensional and more of a multi-layered one. Zugo and Kai also had some significant growth, mostly in their sexuality and their preferences in the bedroom.
I would love to read more from this world with the other characters like Viper and Cobra. I highly recommend this series if you enjoy unique RH, super steamy steam, delicious MM, and a story full of drama and action.
More typos and sentences I had to re-read than the other books in the series. Story followed a pretty predictable path from the beginning, "woe is me for I am chosen" to growing a bit in to the role of empress with fun times interspersed, and the ending being the war and death and the circle of life being completed with the hatchings. Kinda more interested in viper and cobra as their story seems more interesting than maisie's....
This was a really cool read. Different take on shifters and the first book I'm reading about a female basilisk shifter. This is a medium burn and has a healthy balance of sex and plot, then the later books there is more and more sex. (Not that there is anything wrong with that). Once again Rozie introduces a different kink than I'm used to into this series, but it's interesting none the less. Enjoy!
What an epic conclusion, this book was filled with adventure hotness and many more. Loved it. Rozie is a queen of smut and she knows how to write the right way
