Rozie Marshall is an inspired writer from Colorado, where she lives with her husband, kids, and fur babies. She has a BA in European History and works in a bookstore, where else? Although she started writing over a decade and a half ago, it took some convincing for her to publish her first book, but once it happened, the floodgates of words burst and the books kept coming.

Often referred to by her fans as Goddess of Smut and All That is Sexy, she delights her fans with her special knack for kink and smut. When she is not busy arguing with her characters, she spends her time plotting new stories and doing research for her books. Oh, and coffee is her best friend.

What a fantastic continuation of the series and what a shocking ending! It is entirely possible that I loved this book even more than the first one. But isn't that the case with great series? Second book is the best because it continues the story and there is still more to come. Regardless, this is a fantastic series and the author just keeps surprising me with her ideas.
So much happens in this book, some good some bad, and there are some heartbreaking moments, but there is so much love between and among the characters that it kind of balances it out. There is also a lot of friendship, which some of the characters need desperately, under the circumstances.
I also love how the characters grow and develop, and how their relationships evolve. There are struggles and there are learning moments, but they are just adorable together. I love all the characters, such a great bunch. I must admit that Viper has stolen my heart from that first chapter she makes an appearance in the first book.
I love how the author expands and develops the world through dates, picnics and visits. Her descriptions are vivid and beautiful and I could easily imagine myself in Lasina while I'm reading. There are so many interesting creatures I would like to meet, especially all the nymphs.
I love this series hard and it's going to be tough to say goodbye to Maisie, Viper and all the other amazing characters and this beautiful world. But at the same time, I can't wait to see what happens next and what will characters do. So exciting!
Books need to be read in order: The Basilisk Princess (The Lasina Chronicles Book 1), The Basilisk Queen (The Lasina Chronicles Book 2), and The Basilisk Empress (The Lasina Chronicles Book 3).

Great 2nd book

I am absolutely loving this world the author has created with Basilisks, warring kingdoms, betrayal, and blossoming love. The drama is fast paced and is setting up for what will be an epic war between Maisie and her father.

I was not nearly as annoyed with Maisie in this book when compared to book 1. She finally seemed to accept her role in this world even if she didn’t get the choice to forget about it all. Her kindness and sincerity is apparent anytime she is dealing with emissaries while she maintains a calm regalness.

Her relationships with her 4 men are all progressing and some are a little slower than others. With the progression of her relationships, we are learning more about each man and their personal kink while in the bedroom. One character in particular has a rather unconventional kink that isn’t my cup of tea. While it does happen a few times in this book, it was written in a way that I could easily overlooked it or pretend it never happened.

While I’m on the subject of kinks, I’ve read this author’s other series, Claimed by the Goddess, and this series doesn’t have nearly as many different sexual kinks highlighted like that one. The few this one had was some bondage, pleasure torture, a blossoming Dom/sub relationship, and “watersports”.

There were quite a few typos in this book when compared to book 1. Mostly just missing letters (“though” instead of “thought”) or capitalization issues. Not enough to distract from the story but enough for it to catch my eye.

Definitely plan on continuing the series to find out how this war will pan out and the future for Maisie and all of Lasina.

This was a really cool read. Different take on shifters and the first book I'm reading about a female basilisk shifter. This is a medium burn and has a healthy balance of sex and plot, then the later books there is more and more sex. (Not that there is anything wrong with that). Once again Rozie introduces a different kink than I'm used to into this series, but it's interesting none the less. Enjoy!

More of the same

This was very similar to the first book. There were some twists and interesting developments but honestly by the end I was pretty much done with the series. There was lots and lots of steam and a pretty typical plot.

Overall it was decent but I don't think I will continue reading the series.

Steamy hot!!

Ok, I'm liking the story better, but I'm LOVING the steamy parts - especially with kai, as that's a favorite of mine! I was hoping for more viper/maisie/cobra action, but good with the zugo scenes.
