Sometimes One Isn't Enough

The playboy life is the life for me and nothing is going to change that.

That is until I got this wild idea that changed my entire life.

Now, most people wouldn’t go gunning for their best friend –

Or, their best friend’s ex.

I went for both.

Because, why settle for one when you can have two?

I’ve been known to push the envelope on the football field, that’s how I made it to the pros.

But this might not be my brightest idea.

And I’m prepared for everything to crash and burn.

Or, at least, I thought I was.

But things are getting heated and I’m getting attached.

I don’t want to lose these guys but things don’t always work out the way you want them to.

Hopefully the gamble pays off!

A delicious short erotic ride. Three young men. Two friends and an ex. When they collide as a threesome the world seems finally right.
Some little story around them made it more into a journey. It was a fast forwarded and very entertaining. Nicely and enjoyable writing style. The erotic scenes were delicious and the end.... was surprising sweet!

This is the first book by this author and the first MMM menage I've ever read.

In addition to being insanely HOT (it was like a peek into "It's Rick and Griff"s life as I imagine it.) It is a lovely romance.

The story is very quick and to the point in regards to relationship building and character development, yet it is a full bodied story in regards to it's depth and weight.

I will be reading more from this author in the future.

Going into this I knew I wasn't going to like it but I accidentally signed up to ARC it so the fault is mine for not seeing the bottom of the cover stating it was MMM. Beware of SPOILERS beyond this point!! PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!

So I'm going to take a step back and try to objectively view the story.

Starting off in the forward Axel states that he thinks his best friend since high school and his best friends ex are hot and he wants them both in his bed and he hopes it doesn't blow up in his face.

The story starts to break down from there. Axel immediately comes off as very confident and arrogant. He's a football player that hasn't exactly been stellar of late in football but has high hopes for the season. He's interviewed by this "bombshell babe" and gets her digits. Before he leaves the locker room he showers where his mind wanders to his best friend, Riley, who he wouldn't mind messing around with but immediately thinks better of it because, 'Hello!' That's his best friend and he doesn't want to ruin their friendship.'

I'm not saying Riley's innocent because a small part of him while still pining after his ex is lusting a tiny bit after Axel.

The chapters are alternating between three characters Axel (football player and ringleaders of getting in bed with his friend and said friend's ex), Riley, Axel's bestie, and Cain, Riley's maybe cheating/inattentive ex.

A night out clubbing has Axel and Cain running into each other with Riley witness to it all. Axel gets Cain's digit. It upsets Riley who isn't over a Cain though it's been a year since their breakup. Axel seizes the opportunity and plotting with Cain decides that they all should get into bed together. Axel also so graciously offers to step out of the pic if Riley just wants to go exclusive with Cain.

I think my main issue with this story was that Cain and Axel came off as guys who were playing the field and more than willing to follow a hot and willing body. They're both pretty much the same personality type and they come off as the type of people who say, "Hey, as long as the other person never finds out anything goes" type. In their case they didn't even care, considering they blatantly flirted with each other and was willing to hookup in front of Riley in the clubs knowing their connection to Riley. Axel and Cain's first encounter really put that in the forefront and their second meeting wasn't any better. Whereas Riley was the more serious type looking for commitment or being in a relationship. I couldn't help but think the relationship or dynamic wouldn't end well for all involved in the long run even if Riley made them promise to be exclusive. Which also seems to solidify after their first night together. It was just a fail on everyone's part for a second or so. But the author really turned it around in the second half of the book.

That being said the story turned out better than expected. There was good chemistry for all involved. Axel seemed to turn over a new leaf and was the glue that made them all stick. With Riley and Cain in his life his career took off. They managed to build a life together and for all appearances seemed like they were all in it for the long haul.

An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Axel, a professional football player, his best friend Riley and Riley's ex Cain. Axel and Riley were out one night at a club and Cain was there. Axel and Cain were dancing and Axel decided to go see Cain a few days later with an idea. Riley was still hurting from the breakup with Cain after Cain cheated. When Axel went to see Riley, he had Cain with him and told Riley he wanted to be with both of them. The three decided to give a relationship a try and they all wanted to be together. I liked this story. I like how Axel wanted to help his friend Riley move on and heal. I also like that they all realized they wanted to be together and they all brought something to the relationship. Good one.

Exploring For Love -
Axel was the resident playboy, who would sleep with anyone with two legs. Riley was Axel’s best friend, who was trying to recover from a broken heart. Cain was Riley’s ex-boyfriend, who seemed to still be in love with Riley, but didn’t know how to get Riley back. A chance meeting between Axel and Cain and an out of the box suggestion, have this trio in an entanglement, that brings joy and fulfilment to their lives.

This is a beautifully written book, about taking a chance on love and finding happiness in a unique situation. This is a gem of a quick read, that you won’t want to miss reading.

Going For Two is a friends to lovers menage romance by Van Cole.

Axel never thought of his best friend Riley in a sexual way, until now. Running into Riley's ex, Cain, Axel gets a crazy idea involving all three of them. It's enjoyable that these three men have a history before getting together.

This tale of apologies and forgiveness is a quick, short story that's quite easy going. It's hot at times, of course, but it definitely lacks depth.

Going For Two is an enjoyable light read when you're looking for something short and spicy.

Going For Two

I love MMM stories. They are, however, hard to pull off. When done right they're my absolute favorite. Three or more men all together in love and lust... perfection.
This story was a one off for me. I couldn't buy these guys together, in love; not even the lust felt hot.
I felt disconnected from everything and everyone involved. The story felt disconnected from itself, like pieced together in a hurry, with missing parts...
We're all different ppl and other ppl will see this story different. Lots already did. And so that'd be it ^^

Two best friends and an ex it sounds like some Rom com but it’s actually pretty hot and streamy.

Axel is a star football player and has a thing for his best friend he finds him kind of hot but what if he go’s there and risks everything.
Riley has a thing for his best friend but he is also still in love with his ex.
When faith or otherwise known as Axel intervenes things go from 0-69 in a matter of mins.
Nice little side story with great mc’s

Axel is used to getting what he wants. He wants his friend Riley to move on from his heartache but meeting Riley's ex Cain gives him a better idea. Riley and Cain have esteem issues that are briefly touched on but not fully resolved. Some grammar and wording issues, but an interesting read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I liked the concept of this but I just couldn’t get into it

The one was disappointing for me. I felt absolutely zero emotional connection between the main characters. I didn’t buy riley and axels friendship let alone relationship and the break up between Cain and Riley made zero sense to me. Even the sex scenes were just meh. Not a fan of this at all.

Actual Raiting 3.5
A hot concept where a player falls for his friend and his friend's ex when he pushes for a 3some relationship. And in turn the friend and ex reestablish the love between them and fall for the sexy football player as well. My problem was the story was too short. I think it needed to be longer to see how their lives meshed but I loved the ending as them as family unit.

Great Story....Easy to read in a few hours

.
Very good short story with interesting characters. It seemed a little rushed and could have been developed into a full length novel. That aside it was an entertaining short story with characters I'd be interested in meet up with again. Check it out ....you wont be disappointed

Ok

This was a sweet ok story. I think things were a little rushed and I feel like Axel didnt spend much time with Cain as he did with Riley.
