Tsugumi Ōba (Profile in Japanese: 大場 つぐみ), born in Tokyo, Japan, is a writer best known for the manga Death Note. His/her real identity is a closely guarded secret. As stated by the profile placed at the beginning of each Death Note manga, Ōba collects teacups and develops manga plots while holding his knees on a chair, similar to a habit of L, one of the main characters of the series.
There is speculation that Tsugumi Ōba is a pen name and that he is really Hiroshi Gamō. Pointing out that in Bakuman the main character's uncle was a one-hit wonder manga artist who worked on a gag super hero manga, very similar to Gamō and Tottemo! Luckyman in all aspects. Also that the storyboards drawn by Ōba greatly resemble Tottemo! Luckyman in style.
firstly; discrimination isn’t only bad when it occurs at an institutional level, i don’t know why yuri tried to act like her saying “this guy-on-guy stuff is hard to take” wasn’t homophobia just because gay marriage wasn’t legal ???? there’s a difference between interpersonal discrimination and systemic discrimination but they’re both bad.
secondly; the fact that she then decided to be like “i’m a minority for believing in god but even though people treat me horribly i will keep believing in him” AFTER LITERALLY SAYING THAT DISCRIMINATION WAS ONLY A THING IF IT WAS INSTITUTIONAL was so contradictory and unnecessary.
just because you are smart does not mean you are always right.
After one of the God Candidates was sniped and the final candidate shows himself as one of the smartest men in the world all in a public forum the world is now chiming in with their own thoughts about this contest for divinity. Professor Yoneda has a plan to end this contest and compassion has no place in his cold calculations as it seems the final showdowns are soon upon us. Will one of the candidates become the new god of this world and if they do how will their mortal views affect the world after they gain their new abilities? Sadly for the time being we are not quite there but we know know Yoneda's plan and his new partner is the perfect accomplice to pull the trigger for his plan to work.
In the mean time before the action builds up again here are some flawed humans doing their best for either themselves or the rest of humanity trying to wrap their heads around Professor Yoneda's reasoning in the last volume and pawns responsible for what is to come in the next volume are assembled as the fate for the future of humankind is decided.
In the aftermath of Susumu's death, the remaining five god candidates are once again split up with Nakaumi going with Dr. Yoneda and Mirai, Saki, and Yuri returning to their safe house. Now the plan is to figure out a way to convince Dr. Yoneda through logic that his theory on god are...flawed.
Meanwhile, we get to see how Dr. Yoneda ended up as a god candidate and his prep work to set up another discussion meeting with the others which will happen on October 10, 2018 to determine once and for all who (if anyone) will become god. Also, there are some important observations pointed out about Nasse.

I candidati li conosciamo.
I'm missing the action from volume 8 a bit. There haven't been any big plots for a while, but the end of this one promises quite some smart and action packed scenes for the next volume.
Platinum End, Vol. 12 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next six chapters (42–47) of the on-going manga series.
The remaining five God Candidates: Mirai Kakehashi, Saki Hanakago, Yuri Temari, Shūji Nakaumi, and Gaku Yoneda has retreated to their own bases with Mirai Kakehashi, Saki Hanakago, and Yuri Temari in one group and Gaku Yoneda and Shūji Nakaumi under the influence of a red arrow in another.
Gaku Yoneda is revealed to be a professor emeritus at Tokyo University and one of the youngest people to win a Nobel Prize in both physics and literature. He has a disdain interacting with humanity and prefers to work and be alone. His backstory of how he died was revealed as he wanted to know what was beyond the barrier of life when he was chosen as a God Candidate.
He also figured out a plan to make sure that no God Candidate becomes God – as he believes that God is a construct of the human mind and humanity doesn’t need a one anymore. Furthermore, the public around the world seems to agree with him and those that want a God, they don’t want one from Japan. The tankōbon closes with the five remaining God Candidates meeting again – in a safe space.
This tankōbon is written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It deals with the aftermath of the Yūrakuchō District as the remaining five God Candidates flee from the failed assassination attempts of them. Gaku Yoneda creates another meeting in a newly built stadium safe from any sniper attacks by including a safe zone where no one could enter. Apparently, Yoneda has a plan to kill Mirai Kakehashi, Saki Hanakago, and Yuri Temari and then have Shūji Nakaumi and him to mutually kill each other to prevent this so-called God to exist.
All in all, Platinum End, Vol. 12 is a wonderful continuation of the series and I can't wait to read more. I am intrigued to find out how the story continues.
