Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史 Kishimoto Masashi) is a Japanese manga artist, well known for creating the manga series Naruto. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Two of his former assistants, Osamu Kajisa (Tattoo Hearts) and Yuuichi Itakura (Hand's), have also gone on to moderate success following their work on Naruto.

Kishimoto's first work as a manga artist was Karakuri (カラクリ?), which he submitted to Shueisha in 1995. This earned him the Weekly Shōnen Jump's monthly "Hop Step Award" in 1996, granted to promising new manga artists. This was followed in 1997 by a pilot version of Naruto (NARUTO-ナルト-), published in Akamaru Jump Summer. In 1998, Kishimoto premiered as a Weekly Shōnen Jump artist with a serialized version of Karakuri in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but it proved unpopular and was canceled soon after. In 1999, a serialized version of Naruto began publication in Weekly Shōnen Jump and quickly became a hit.

I got this in the mail a few days ago and started reading it yesterday but manga go so quickly I never made an update for it. I really liked the fight between Naruto and Sasuke against Jigen. The karma is an interesting concept and I’m interested to see where it goes. I saw that Kishimoto took over Boruto so I wonder how that’ll affect the story whenever those volumes get translated.

This was even better than the previous one. The conversation between Kurama and Kawaki was so fricking sad and cool at the same time. We learn more about the Otsutsuki clan as well as Jigen's plan. However, everything changes when Jigen suddenly shows up and attacks Naruto. The fight we all have been waiting for already started! I'm super curious to see what happens next.

Chapter 36:

Chapter 36:

Chapter 36: Boruto, your right hand.
The karma! It's spread... Is that why I slipped off the tree?
You didn't cause it to spread?
Nope. I can't delberately use the karma yet. It just activates in the heat of battle or when I'm around Kawaki.
Could something have happened to him? Lord seventh is with him, so he should be okay, but...
I've got a bad feeling about this.

Chapter 36: Yeah right, what's fixed about a vase that leaks water?

Chapter 36: What's curious is that the mitotic regeneration mark looks similar to karma. So I was wondering if they might be related somehow?
Huh. According to master Tsunade-lord fifth, that is... It's a jutsu that's existed for a really long time. From the age of the sage of six paths.

Chapter 36:

Chapter 36: He showed up directly via Kawaki's karma?! No way! If this was possible all along... Then there was no need for a vessel retrieval mission! So why did he order one?

Chapter 36: From the looks of it, I'm in your living room, aren't I? I apologize, Uzumaki Naruto. I didn't mean to enter your residence without removing my shoes.

Chapter 36:

Chapter 36:

Chapter 36:

Chapter 37:

Chapter 37: I'd rather be his prisoner again than lose you!!

Chapter 37: I suspect that he can shrink objects.

Chapter 37: The one I should eliminate first is actually you, Uchiha Sasuke.

Chapter 37: You'll never again be as lucky as you were just now.

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38: Ohtsutsuki plus ten tails... Let me guess. You're planning to drain this entire planet dry of chakra, aren't you? Not just the two of us.

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38: The legendary Uchiha Susano'o. Its speed isn't all that impressive. What about its defense?

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38: Gah, I'm at my limit too? Jigen's body can't keep pace with the power. I realy do need Kawaki. This vessel's done for.

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38: Uzumaki Naruto. With that nine tails inside you, I suspect it'll take too much work to kill you and it. Instead, I'll just seal you two away.

Chapter 38: Your beast seems the smarter half. It's right. I have no interest in you. Though your son is a different story. Boruto, wasn't it? I was sad not to see him at your house, but is he coming along nicely?
Huh?! What's Boruto got to do with anything?!!
Don't play dumb. The karma. He's got one, doesn't he? Somewhere on his body?
You!!! Stay away from Boruto!!!
You must've been so busy up until now, lord seventh. Enjoy this little extension of your life in the pitch-dark I'll leave you in. It'll be your end when we next meet. If you're still alive, that is.
You better remember those words!!! Cuz I'm gonna feed'em right back to you!!!

Chapter 38: Does your body hurt, Jigen? To shed tears is pathetic. You're not worthy of being Ohtsutsuki Isshiki's vessel, you defective failure.

Chapter 38:

Chapter 38:

Chapter 39:

Chapter 39: I might actually be able to take Jigen down myself.

Chapter 39: They'll likely both become powerful Ohtsutsuki. A gigantic divine tree shall grow... Huge enough to devour all life on this planet. Don't worry, Amado. Everyone's wishes will be granted including yours, of course.

Chapter 39:

Chapter 39: Why has lord seventh been so kind to me? Why is he willing to look me straight in the eye? Why...?
Yeah. As if you're actual family, right? There've been times I wondered for real, how much better my life might be if lord seventh were my dad. I was so jealous of Boruto, and annoyed at his constant griping. His ignorance of being so blessed. But you see... To lord seventh, everyone in the village is family. That's who he is. And you just feel safe in his presence... utterly safe.

Chapter 39: I'm finally starting to understand why Jigen chose me. I didn't want to admit it, but in the end I'm like him. It's the whole being on the same wavelength thing. It's nauseating, but I can't deny it. Except, what ever he can do, I've got the ability to do too! C'mon, let's go. To rescue lord seventh.

In this volume Jigen comes for Kawaki. Then Naruto and Sasuke fight Jigen and figure out what his plans and powers are.

This volume sets up Boruto, Kawaki, Sarada and Mitsuki for a great adventure in the next volume.

Plus we see what the Character Koji is up to.

Major spoilers ahead:

Jigen teleported to where Kawaki was using the Karma mark and Space time ninjutsu. So that means untill Kawaki has karma removed or till Jigen is kill; Kawaki is in danger of being made into Jigen's next host. Then Jigen teleports Naruto and himself to an area to fight. It does not make sense why he would do this at first, but it will become clear later. Sasuke then teleports to where they are.

Then the fight begins, Naruto activates Karama and Sasuke activates susanoo. Jigen is able to immediately kick Sasuke out of susanoo. Sasuke using his Sharringan to determine what Jigen's power are. Jigen strinks items to small sizes then expaneds them to seemingly instantly slab his opponent. His shrinking power is how he seals Naruto away.

Naruto and Sasuke are unable to defeat Jigen at this time. So Naruto is sealed away and Sasuke is forced to escape. Jigen also reaveals his true name which is Isshiki Otsutsuki. Jigen is the name of his current host. Who seems to be conscience but has no control over his body. Isshiki says his current host is done for, so he needs to transfer to Kawaki soon.

Before Jigen teleports to Kawaki, Sarada asks Sakura about the seal on her forehead. Sakura say not much is known about the origin of it, other then it is a jutsu from the time of the sage of six paths. Tsunade invented the 100 seal of healing, so I think what Sakura means by Jutsu is the practice of storing Chakra away in the body. Then Ino who standing next to Sakura then feels a sinister charkra so Sarada runs off to Naruto house. Since Boruto's Karma is linkened to Kawaki's Karma, when Kawaki's karma activates Boruto's activates as well. So Boruto return home to check on Kawaki. Mitsuki who is with him at the time goes with him.

Since Naruto disapear, Shikaramu placed Kawaki under house arrest because of the possibility that Kawaki is a spy. Kawaki and Boruto's Karmas some how combine to form a portal. Sarada and Mitsuki go with them throught the portal. On the other end of the portal they encounter a Kara memeber called Boro.

CRAZY Fan speculation:

Koji is still spying on Kawaki in Konoha when Jigen teleports to Kawaki. Koji relizes that Jigen could have retrieved Kawaki anytime he wanted. Thus Koji comes to the conclusion that Jigen was testing his loyalty. Koji then wonders to himself if he can kill Jigen after his fight with Naruto.
Since Koji wants to kill Jigen it maked me wonder if Koji really is Jaraiya like how alot of people speculate. Koji can summon toads and use fire release like Jaraiya. The attack that Koji used on Konahamaru "eternal flames" was similar to the eternal flames used by Itachi. Which Jaraiya sealed away in a scroll. In theory Jaraiya could then cultivate thoses flames and turn them into an attack using summoning jutsu to stray at his enemies.

What I am trying to say is Koji being in possession of eternal flames leans more to the speculation that Koji is himself Jaraiya reather then a clone. While it is true a clone could probably take and use the scroll, enless the scroll only opens to Jaraiya's chakra. Which is possible, but how would his clone have found the scroll. The only possible anwser to that could be perhaps one of Jaraiya's toads gave Koji the scroll. Which the question would then become why would Jaraiya's toad give someone like Koji the scroll?

To me it seems possible that an outside observer saved Jaraiya to help them spy on Kara. After all something similar has been done in Naruto before with Obito secretly being alive, having been saved by Madara. Perhaps Jaraiya is spying on Kara which the hopes of stoping them. Jaraiya really wanted to be a hero, and while he was dying after the fight with pain he regreted that he accomplished very little with his life. So he would jump at the chance to save Konoha and the world.

Conclusion:

I am really loving this series now. Action is good and the plot is really getting good now.

Jigen comes in suddenly and its upto Naruto to fight him to save Kawaki and their battle is intense and the former uses Space time Ninjutsu to take Naruto to some other dimension and Sasuke also comes in, the two best friends fight this guy and we learn he has some shrinking powers and Sasuke tells him about how he looked like Isshiki and was able to extract powers from the Bijuu and there is this epic fight between the two of them and you can see Jigen is a force to be reckoned with and they fight and they lose badly, Sasuke is able to escape but meanwhile Naruto is trapped in some box and we learn that Jigen is the vessel for Isshiki and the same is planned for Kawaki. Meanwhile Kawaki, Boruto and all are able to open a space time ninjutsu using Karma and are gonna rescue Naruto! I loved this volume in the sense that we have this epic fight, Sasuke-Naruto team up and their is this great moment where Kawaki remembers the closeness and acceptance of Naruto, and seeing it just makes my heart swell. This is why I love Naruto, his ability to accept and protect people, make them his own, seeing my boy done justice there is <3. Also great moment between Boruto standing up for Kawaki, also seems like their next big threat is gonna be Boro! Great volume!

Volume 10 is probably one of my favorite volumes of Boruto because we get to see Naruto do his usual thing alongside his one and only partner Sasuke, while both are committed to protecting the newer generation under the. Naruto basically adopting Kawaki and Boruto having basically a brother has been fantastic and this volume highlights how, potentially, they can grow together under Naruto and Sasuke. I liked the developments a lot.

Shikamaru also had presence and it has been interesting seeing how he was one of my more beloved character in Naruto to becoming one of the more aggravating characters in Boruto. Honestly, it is hilarious considering he was the most relaxed character at times and seemingly a part of the "actual friends of Naruto" like Kiba were back in the day to becoming one of the more rigid and strict/up-tight characters not. Honestly, if he just takes his usual approach here he would be far more likeable.

Action wise, the developments were great and I look forward to seeing what the kids do in the next volume.

Bonus content was, as usual, textual briefs expanding the world spread between chapters. Kodachi has put quite a bit of thought into the world of Boruto/Naruto.

Naruto dan Sasuke seharusnya menjadi ninja terkuat. Apalagi jika mereka duet.

Sama seperti komentar saya utk Dragon Ball Super.

Cukup mampu mengimbangi Kishimoto sensei. Dan membuat kita pembaca setia Naruto merasa senang melihat penduduk Konoh masih dpaat berinteraksi dalam keseharian mereka

Naruto and Sasuke were supposed to be the best ninjas (As we could see them defeat all their foes and stop the 4th great war). However from the beginning of this manga Naruto and Sasuke are just a pale copy of what they used to be. They do not look as strong as they were and look a bit rust.
Enemies must therefore be much stronger than Obito in mode jinchuuriki or Kaguya.
Boruto / Kawaki are then supposed to become even stronger than the 4th / Sasuke duo in order to defeat the evil but I have to say that I am a bit regretful of the Manga Naruto. According to me even though Boruto is a very good manga it does not have the pure soul and complexity of characters (Itachi, Obito...).

Jigen transports himself into Naruto's home through Kawaki's karma. Naruto refuses to let Kawaki go with Jigen, so Jigen transports him to another dimension. He intends to leave him there, but Sasuke intervenes. They fight, but when it becomes apparent that they can't defeat Jigen, Naruto orders Sasuke to save himself which he does reluctantly. Jigen seals Naruto in a giant coffin. Sasuke escapes and transports himself in front of Sakura. Kawaki senses Naruto's chakra through his prosthetic hand and goes to rescue him with Boruto and his team. They encounter a surprise enemy.

Heroes in peril

Jigen shows up to take Kawaki back. Big fight. Naruto is teleported into another dimension. Sasuke shows up. Another big fight. Kawaki is accused of being a spy. Kawaki and Boruto's karma powers increase. Kawaki and Team 7 go in search of Naruto.
Nail biting action.

A big ol' fight scene with Naruto, Sasuke, and Jigen, plus a few little teases as to what's actually going on with Kara, and some super heartfelt shonen speeches to round out the chapter? That's a solid volume, and then some.

I’m really liking the in-between chapters lore, it adds so much depth to the world as a whole, with politics and more insight into the great ninja war…. Besides that, the fighting in this volume fell a little flat, but I enjoyed the dialogue.
