Patrick Kindlon is a singer in the best band in the world, Self Defense Family. He is also a superb comic book writer. Z2 comics, the publisher of Run The Dungeon, is known for publishing famous musician vanity projects. Patrick Kindlon is not famous and Run the Dungeon has very little to do with vanity. Patrick has real bonafides in the comics world and has been grinding out good work after good work. Run The Dungeon is another example of this good work. An expertly told fantasy story that is touching at times and always funny and clever. This comic is best read with the accompanying soundtrack provided by Self Defense Family playing in your ears. (Which is honestly the best album of the year)

It’s obvious I’m a devout member of the cult of Kindlon so it speaks volumes when I say the real star of Run The Dungeon is Goran Gligovie’s stunning art work. The colors in this bitch just slap so hard. The vibrant and surreal mix with the epic fantasy and Sisyphean struggle. Multiple spreads in this work made me audibly gasp.

You should really read this book and you should really give anything Kindlon does your attention and you should definitely give anything Gligovic draws your attention.
