Manushya Puthiran's poems are mostly bittersweet. They find hope in the darkest of places, and they find tragedy in the happiest of moments.
In this book, his poems touch upon loneliness, separation, and unrequited love, more so in the 'urban' and 'digital' contexts. One poem is about a fake ID checking up on a lonely man on social media. Another poem talks about mobile notifications from gyms, salons, and restaurants that make a man feel connected. In one poem, the poet worries if he returned home after having gone missing for years, his neighbor might only fake a smile and enquire mechanically, "Where were you for the last few days?"
We all have those evenings when we stand on the terrace of our apartments, look at the endless cityscape, and wonder if the city and its people will miss us when we are gone. This book is to be read on those evenings.

It was such a refreshing read.
It’s a collection of modern Tamil poetry, and what impressed me most was how much meaning the poet conveys in just a few lines. Some poems were so striking that I had to stop, stare at the wall, and think about what I had just read. I could relate to many of them, and I loved how he brings humour into simple, everyday observations while still saying so much underneath.
It was completely different from what I usually read, but I really enjoyed the experience. A short, thoughtful, and enjoyable read—you can easily finish it in a few hours.
