Parents can truly mess up the children they are blessed to have!
Two people who endured troubling childhoods find themselves drawn to each other in a love dance that proves to be unbroken. Jackson and his brother came from what most would term horrible birth parents and was adopted and loved by wealthy people who for whatever reason was not blessed with children of their own but they poured love into Jackson and his brother. The other half of the love fest is Jerri who suffered her own brand of abuse from a mother who could not reconcile the abandonment issues she suffered when Jerri's dad left. So Jerri wants to find love through having her own child and Jackson wanted nothing to do with having a child for fear he would turn out like his birth parents. So they come together he because he is smitten with her at first sight and she because she wants the child minus the father. What they got was the baby, love for each other that encompassed his younger brother and through their love as rocky as their start was, their friends and extended family were also healed through their love. I enjoyed that both parties to this love relationship were devoid of being rich from birth but their coming together made them richer than his billions from his inheritance and art and her from her riches from her successful culinary show ever could. The editing was horrible, in some incidents there were extra words added ie: "Jerri pushed open the door and closed it behind her to give them some privacy before walking slowly toward the bed to it on the edge of it, careful not to jostle her." (From chapter 8). Some times there were words left out, misplaced words and incorrect spelling, for me mistakes like these interfere with the flow of the story. In my opinion the meeting of the couple to the forming of their relationship was to unbelievable even for fiction. It wasn't subtle enough, it didn't develop into a peak. The way Jackson was so demanding during their first few mating sessions appeared more like rape to me. And whatever became of Jerri's friend that was being abused by her husband? Or did I miss how that situation was fixed? In my opinion Jerri and her two friends all seemed to be in abusive relationships and appeared to be ok with them and that is not ok. But again these are just my opinions. This book was just not for me.
This is one of the best in this series. Jackson and his brother was not born into wealth. They were abandoned by their birth parents and placed in a group home. They were adopted into wealth. Jackson had so many mental scars from the abandonment and his time in the group home that he had turned off all of his feelings. Jerri was raised by a single mother who never had anything good to say about men. She treated Jerri horribly. She could some what relate to Jackson. Jerri want a child, but no relationship the only person she could think of that may be willing to help her is Jackson. Note to author loved how you included Jerri's friends Marilyn and Ingrid's stories It was kind of like getting three stories for the price of one. This story touch on abandonment, child abuse, domestic violence, jealousy, mental illness, and so much more. So glad Jackson and Jerri got their HEA.
Very surprised at the emotional gut punch this one delivered. So much real world ugliness. Jackson, Jason & Jerri having to overcome such ugly upbringings and still manage to forge successful lives. Marilyn & Ingrid and their nasty drama. Ugh...very realistic. I was reluctant to even start this because of the " plus-sized" trope which I've grown tired of. But all of the characters are so vibrant I was hooked and finished it in one go. There were too many repetitive mentions of Jackson's & Jerris' insecurities or declarations of never falling in love, using people for sex etc. But overall a heartbreaking and heartwarming tale of courage, perseverance and finding love when least expected.
Jerri and Jackson's story has moved to the top three of Katie Dowe's books. The other two being Luca and Simon. Both characters were broken but his trauma ran so much deeper because of the type of abuse he suffered along with the abandonment; yet she refused to give up on him... And love won again. I came to read Jackson because he is the best friend of Luca and I just reread Luca so I wanted to know how Jackson and Jerri got together. This book will not disappoint in any way. I highly recommend it.
This story was very sad and intriguing, from a young age you have to go through all this trauma,it was very sad on all three of them. But Jackson knows what he been through, but was very Traumatized. But everything takes time to heals. With the baby here he will get there with the help of his wife and brother. It's a different set up,but had a beautiful ending.
Jackson: BWWM, Plus Size,BBW, Donor Baby, Billionaire Romance (Members From Money Second Season Book 33) By Katie Dowe, BWWM Club
Jackson is the kind of character you love to hate he's. a billionaire artist, outspoken, no filter on his mouth, handsome as sin has a cold heart and treat women like relief receptacle until he meets the beautiful plus size Jerri. Due to health issues and an accident they meet and you must read the story. It's so good but mature readers only !
Jacob is relentless in his non feelings f or Jerri right until the last couple pages. Ju st story cut off with an I loved you since I first saw you. Too many bigs words being used, yet basic grammar, sentence construction and spelling of elementary words are a flop.
Jackson and Jerri met under unusal circimstances. They both had painful childhoods while growing up and had to work through their demons during this book. Jerri found out she was going through early menopause and asked Jackson to father her child. Good Weekend read.
This book is about Jackson and Jerri who met by chance. Once they came together, it was as if Jackson couldn't get enough, but Jerri is one to not let her feelings be known to him. I loved the chemistry between the two and I know who ever reads this book will enjoy it. I definitely recommend it!
I loved that the heroine didn’t just fall at his feet from the getgo. She was strong in her beliefs and it wasn’t till love was the picture that she finally said — ok, I can do this. I see myself in her
Delightful Reading this is a awesome story with exciting and entertaining characters with lots sizzling hot passion. It's a difficult but believable relationship
Jerri and Jackson both have suffered from their own version of abuse. They got together with each wanting something different out of it but both got what they needed. I love the characters and storyline and enjoyed the book.
Men in general can very difficult to handle. Jackson had a lot on his plate. I hope that Jason can find someone like that in his life. Love is a strange feeling. The heart knows what it wants. You have to open your eyes to see it
I loved the story overall and the couple. Jackson was definitely moody, overly so but I can understand some of that. I do love Jerri's patience in the end. Nice story with great complicated chemistry.
Jackson and Jerri’s story maybe one of the darkest thus far, although it does have an all is well in the end with a baby. There is so much to unpack so let’s just say that all’s well , that ends well. But , I did wonder if that was going to be the case.
Extremely excited to read about Jackson Colby. This story had me so emotional. I laughed, cried, got angry and got happy all over again. So many toss and turns throughout this book. It kept my attention the entire time. Highly recommend reading this amazing love story!!!
