Sweet fast pace little steam novella.
Gunner has been dealing with some PTSD when he lost some coworkers in a fire he was working at. So he moved to a little town and was kinda given the firefighter head job. Making him the boss he's still nervous but it's only temporary. He meets bar owner Sloane and that locked up heart starts beating hard, 0 to 200 for these two flirtyness and exchanging stories that had them dating and enjoying life during their 4th of july.
If it had a Epilogue I would have given it a higher rating. :( just a HFN type of ending. Or a hea?
No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, Sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore no past mentioned

Emotional episodes plus heatedly depicted passionate moments are plentiful in GUNNER’S FIRECRACKER, and I was pulled into the lives of a couple whose love could especially make a big difference in the man’s life. Gunner has lived through a traumatic incident, and the repercussions of what happened greatly affected him each day. While he is certainly not looking for a woman to date, coming in contact with Sloan has him perking up, and she also definitely notices him. What takes place next is hotly sexy yet some more somber occasions are portrayed, too.
After a tragic occurrence while he was captain over a group of firefighters, Gunner King feels compelled to move away so he can hopefully leave the bad memories behind. He is now at a fire station in Heart Falls, Montana, and on his first day taking over the duties as the chief, his crew takes him to a nearby bar for drinks after their shift ends. When Gunner walks through the door, he spies Sloane Scott who works there, and both are surprisingly attracted to each other.
Having to go through what Gunner did would be very upsetting, and I admire him for trying to improve his life. While the tactics that he is doing may not always help, he finds being around Sloane is exactly what he needed. They way in which this couple communicate with each other is shown with honest responses, regardless of whether it is what they say or is just a subtle action. I like when a couple find themselves drawn to one another, and then do not hold back when given the opportunity to express their lusty desire. An enjoyable addition to The Holiday Firecrackers series with two insightful epilogues.

Whoo! That was like a trip to a sauna during a Texas summer!
While there were certainly parts of this story and even the love scenes that defied believability (seriously, Gunner and Sloane did not waste any time whatsoever hopping into bed together!), this book was just so delightfully, deliciously over the top! 😍
As always, I didn't pay that much attention to the heroine (except that Sloane's character seemed a tad inconsistent to me), but as for Gunner, it was so hot that he was so completely pro-commitment, and I absolutely love that he was this growly, tattooed mountain of a man with a "baseball bat between his legs." 😛🤤
Now, there was a slight D/s angle that seemed to come the hell outta left field, but mercifully, there was no actual BDSM involved and what Domination actually was present was simply confined to Gunner getting a little bossy in the bedroom (not to mention, the stationhouse!). 😉
If I could lodge one actual complaint against this book, I hated that it just..ended. There was a HEA, sure, but there seriously needed to be an epilogue afterwards showing Gunner and Sloane happily married with little ones running around. I dunno, I guess to me, it's not a true HEA without rugrats (but points for the impregnation fetish!).
Overall Verdict: 9.5 firecrackers out of 10

First things first; I really like the cover of this book!
Gunner’s firecracker is book five in the ‘’holiday firecracker’s’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When fire fighter Gunner King went through a heart breaking event he leaves town. Ten months later in a new town with a new job, he meets Sloane. From the moment he meets Sloane, he wants her. Sloane calms Gunner’s nightmares.
The chemistry between Gunner and Sloane is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

Gunner is a fireman who feels responsible for his close friends death, so he leaves to a new town hoping for a new beginning at least.
Except the new town knows he is there and is begging him to join the squad. Once he does and after his first shift they take him out for drinks only his world is about to turn and only for the good!
Sloane has been running the family owned business for years and today makes is more special because she is about to meet her Tall, Dark, and Scruffy man.
You will need a fire extinguisher for this book because it is HOT!!!!

I loved this story! Gunner is a bearded tall, dark, and handsome firefighter. He's experienced a tragedy, and decides to pack up and move to the mountains, hoping to find some peace. Sloane is a kind, feisty, curvy bartender, and is captivated the first time she sees Gunner in her bar. Gunner is instantly fascinated by Sloane, and wastes no time in making her his. I loved how these two connected. Sloane quickly becomes Gunner's safe place, giving him love and support as he grieves for his lost brothers. In return, Gunner cherishes Sloane, making her his Queen. This sweet and sexy instalove is heartfelt and amazing. I'm hoping we see lots more stories set in Heart Falls.

When I am with her my world doesn't seem so dark
Another good story by KL Fast.
The story itself was enjoyable and entertaining. I loved how the MC's wasn't afraid to show their feelings or emotions towards one another.
-virgin h, no mention of H's past, just that he's never been interested in the women in his town.
-dual POV
-no OM/OW drama
-no cheating or abuse
-epilogues - I didn't get to read a copy of the book with the epilogues, which I'm very sad about. But I am told there are 2. Maybe at some point I'll be able to see what happens in their future.

Kl fast has done it again with her amazing ability to write safe, short, and sexy as sins books. This book grab you when you first started reading it and never let you go. He is a fire fighter who moves to Montana to heal from his past experiences and meets her in a bar and it is just love at first sight. She is the ball his soul needs to heal and he loves her from the tip of her toes to the top of her head. This book is hot as sin and sexy from start to finish. Amazing read.......

This was a sweet hot read about Gunner and Sloane. Love a fiesty heroine and a strong Alpha. Despite the tragedy Gunner went thru, Sloane wasable to bring him back to life and see the lightness in her. I couldn't stop reading until I finished this wonderful, sweet, yummy, beautiful love story. Love this series and i can't wait to read more by KL Fast.

True to a good quick / fast / hot read, this book just pops! I love that Sloane doesn't fix Gunner's problems, which too often happens in books. I can't say I would hate seeing the rest of Alpha squad get their happily ever afters as well!
