Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Keisha Ervin is a prolific writer and devoted mother. Her success has drawn much deserved attention to herself and her hometown. She is the author of the National Best-Sellers Chyna Black, Me & My Boyfriend, Mina's Joint and Hold U Down, as well as the novel Torn and the short story After the Storm, featured in the Street Love anthology.
I’m going to try not to spoil the book. In Part 4 of Cam and Gray’s story, we find out if Cam survived the attempt on his life, we find out who the snitch is, we learn about new threats, we eliminate threats (😝) and old family secrets are exposed. The book was funny. Keisha had us on edge for a minute there. The back and forth was kind of irritating, I thought “is he going to die or not”, “are they going to be together or not” “is she going to tell him or not”. But I guess without the back and forth there wouldn’t have been a plot.
Kiesha! OMG! This book. I know things couldn't end peacefully with a book behind this one. This book kept me on my toes. Each time I thought I could relax a twist. When I collected myself and things were smooth again boom, a turn! Trying to catch my breath so I can dive into Mine.
This book was full of frustration, sadness and tears of sorrow, then followed up with tears of joy and laughter. Cam and those kids are crazy as hell. They are grown, but it did bring a happy dysfunctional atmosphere. I’m looking forward the the last book. This series need to be on TV.
Let me just say I've been rocking with Keisha Ervin since my cousin gave me Mina's Joint in 9th grade & she has yet to disappoint me! I patiently wait for every new book because she is the only urban author to make me want more of the story she's writing. The character development is always impeccable & always makes me feel like I'm really apart of the story . I've been a huge Gray & Cam fanatic since First Wives Club and the kids make the story even better especially of the way Keisha writes their own scenes so they have their own little storylines intertwined with their parents. You're was exactly what I knew I would get being a fan of Keisha Ervin's writing & I'm gonna head on to the next book because this ending was...OMFG wild! Great read for anyone who loves a real ass story that drops many real life gems of wisdom. Thank you Keisha for writing in such a beautiful way and I will patiently wait for every new book as long as you continue to write with such passion & eloquence!
Fire, straight Fire!!! Don’t sleep on this series. I have no issue with multiple installments of books. When the story actually is flowing. This book had my feelings on 10! I felt everything the love, heartbreak and just the anxiety of it all. This novel is a whole movie and the secrets just keep coming out. And lets not mention the pearls of wisdom. That Ms. Keisha drops while entertaining us. She touched on male abuse, abandonment added in with a sprinkle of God’s divine words. This is a fantastic story that is well worth the wait. I don’t feel cheated at all. On to the final installment. Pleas take all my coins👌🏾
This book breath so much life into me but at the same killing me slowly. That moment that I thought Cam was gone my heart broke into two, but then a miracle happened Jesus I felt that deep in my soul as if I was there. This book capture every emotion that one could possibly feel in this life. Keisha thank you for allowing us into your world of creativity and the depth of who you are. Aoki, Ryan, Makiah, Princess are hellah funny to me them together the tag team as I called them the next generation thats coming I'm sure fixing to be everything and more can't wait to see were you take these characters as we watch them grow into young adulthood. The ending a JAW DROPPER 😲. NEXXXXXXT ONE
It wouldn’t be a Keisha Ervin book if immaturity and deceit was present. Can Cam and Gray grow up and tell the truth for once. All this back and forth is for the birds. I appreciate Cam’s maturity eventually, but does it really have to take that long to get there. This book had me all over the place. Cam’s actions with Devin was unnecessary in the book, it was an unnecessary drama. I like that the book told us more about Aoki and can tell that like India, Aoki will have her own story. Let’s hope she’s more mature than her parents. I’m glad that both books came out together, can’t wait to read how this ends.
There is just no stop to the roller coaster that Cam and Gray is on. As soon as they take a step forward they take three steps back. As soon as 1 enemy is taken care of, another one emerges. Exhausting! Aoki is really growing up and wise beyond her years. Paris and their little situation ship is cute but from afar it just looks like a bunch of heartache since they are so young.
Keisha you outdid yourself with this one I was truly on an emotional roller coaster but in a good way I’m about to start book 2 Mine after this review this was a genius idea to do not 1 but 2 books I absolutely love it you gave us more like u was reading our minds proving why u the best ever do it and my favorite author
So we knew that Cam could stand is dad for cheating on him mom. The whole time you had us believing that Cam sr. Was cheating with the friend. But that bomb that dropped across the last when pages. Wow I'm so glad we ain't left hanging. Keisha you the GOAT for this. On to Mine.
Ok Keisha!! You gave me a heart attack from the start! I’ve been on an emotional rollercoaster while enjoying this book! I didn’t know whether to cry, laugh, scream, holler or jump for joy!!! This book is EVERYTHING!! So worth the wait and surprise release!!! Now...on to the next one!!!
This author got me turning pages, trying to figure it out. What A great storyline. When I thought it was thus way it brushed out to be something else. Love how the author introduces the past with the present. Now to the next book. Got me sitting here trying to figure where this story going. What A great read!
The book wasn’t bad but it was exhausting. Cam and gray back and forward was just over the top. I just didn’t like how weak and foolish Gray was. The next issue was majority of the book was about the teenagers. I don’t know what to say about that. 16 year old cussing and being possessive over a 13 year old was just to much. Five books just wasn’t necessary.
Without giving away the cow...Keisha keeps you on a rollercoaster of emotions. This is literally a page Turner, everything I thought I figured out was definitely unravelled towards the end. One of the best urban writers of my time!
Every since I began reading cam and gray's story I have been so enthralled. I've laughed with them. Cried with them. Felt the ups and downs of their unpredictable relationship. I'm so filled with anxiety bc i don't want this story to end. READ IT!!
Very repetitive. I found myself constantly rolling my eyes and skipping entire paragraphs. This reminded me so much of Ethic by Ashley Antoinette; not so much in content but in repetitiveness and the fact that the story should've been wrapped up sooner.
This book had me up ALL night. Definitely a good series. I highly recommend especially if you’re struggling with relationship/betrayal/or trust issues. There’s definitely a lot of gems in this book
I so in love with this series. It’s one of my favorite series to read. Cam and Gray love is incomparable. It’s tragic yet so intense at times you can physically feel it.
