Mike Donovan is the CEO of Nexus Services, which funds the largest national civil rights firm dedicated to prison and civil rights litigation in America, and is the pastor of the First Christian Church Universalist in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Nexus Services is a privately owned company that offers legal services to marginalized and disenfranchised communities across the United States. The First Christian Church Universalist is an unaligned Universalist church founded in 2014. After serving seven months in the county jail, Donovan put himself through Western Governors University and studied at the Charlotte School of Law. Mike Donovan lives in Staunton, Virginia, with his life partner, Richard, whom he met in 1997 and married in 2016, and where they are proud to be raising their two sons.

Mike Donovan is a true liberal fellow traveler with Trump supporters, but he has been pre-programed by the media machine to join the "Orangeman bad" mob. I was warned by the introduction that he would anger both sides and so I can not complain.
His main arguments, facts and observations are in line with the Fox News perspective and yet he can not get past his trash Trump virtue signaling. However, once we steel ourselves against the pervasive unfairness and media disinformation we discover that the rest of his lawyerly perspective is an excellent discussion about the present collapse of our freedom.
I am glad to see that there are some intelligent people on the left who do see what is happening today. I recommend this book to all who are concerned about current events. Most importantly he may have a viable working solution to turn back the tide. After you read his entire case you can decide for yourself if you will join his crusade.

This book is largely fiction. I know because I'm actually a former employee of Nexus Services as his Director of Security and his Director of Special Operations. I'm actually referenced on page 109 of this garbage where Donovan puked up the following:

"To this day, my companies continue to litigate in our hometown to protect the disadvantaged. We continue to be harassed and targeted by the local authorities. As recently as July 2020, my partner, Richard, was arrested on a false charge of perjury after swearing out a protective order when he assaulted by a stalker pretending to be a process server. Fortunately, we had video evidence from three difference sources to prove Richard was, in fact, assaulted, including video from the stalker."

The fact is, is it his spouse went to jail for 9 months for his perjury conviction. His husband was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months for employer tax fraud in the Western District of Virginia, after stealing some 3.1 million dollars. Donovan and his husband have four pending felony charges pending in the Circuit Court of Augusta County for to frauding their "son", Zachary Cruz, brother of the Parkland high school shooter. . Donovan, his husband, and a third owner of his company and the companies each have $811 million dollar judgments pending against them which were brought about by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Attorney's General of Massachusetts, New York, and the Commonwealth of Virginia, which judgment was upheld recently by the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. In fact, including interests, their judgments that are outstanding approach $1 billion dollars.

Donovan, his husband, and their company have lost every piece of real estate they own. Their campus in Verona, Virginia has been lost to foreclosure and sold. They've been evicted from another home they rented from a woman on Airbnb in the Town of Shenandoah. In fact since his husband is in jail, Donovan and Sam Orlando are living in the shack that is owned by his mother and his father.

Donovan himself is now the subject of an investigation by the Virginia State Bar for the unauthorized practice of the law.

Donovan has been a criminal since the late 1990s and continues that behavior to present day.

Evidence in his husband's criminal trial demonstrates that Donovan failed to pay his ghostwriter and Simon and Schuster, the owner of the brand that published his book.

Google the people named in this book and to add lawsuit to it. It's quite fascinating.

I can't recommend this book enough. The author and I don't agree on all of his points, however, he makes it clear at the beginning that there are things that will frustrate those that lean left and those that lean right. He is as close as to a centrist as we have in America these days. The very fact that we don't agree in everything only makes the points made in this book more beautiful and poignant. It is a treatise in how far our liberties have fallen not only as a result of the pandemic, but through, majorly, the 1900s onward. This is not a left or right issue. This is a We the People issue. We have a common ground of liberty or we don't. We want to continue to have frivolous arguments that only keep the people in government in power or we don't. We are closer together as a free people than we think. We need to keep in mind that our liberty is either the most important thing we have or it's not. Again, I highly encourage you, regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, to read this. Be made uncomfortable, disagree with the author on some points if you want, but that disagreement is the very core of our society as a free people.

I believe in everything he wrote and it was my honor to have been shared his vision.
I heard him on the radio and I am a believer in his words.

Good book.

Definitely had some stuff I didn’t agree with. But, it did have a lot I agreed with. Would recommend to any ideology if you truly believe in a free America.
