In a clash of masculine energy, two cunning men bump heads while furthering their surging careers.
But not everything in their complicated lives can be controlled, least of all their hearts and desires...
Rodney, a sculpture artist brimming with raw talent, is on the cusp of fame. Hidden from public eye, however, are creative and financial challenges, and the burdens of an enigmatic artistic persona.
Marshall is good at uncovering the truth. He's a reporter and columnist who suspects the artist is a phony, and thereby a danger to the integrity of the fine arts so plagued with fraud.
Truth battles illusion, creativity yearns for expression, and it all comes down to two questions:
How far must a man go to stop an opponent who threatens everything?
When lurched together, can adversaries become real lovers?
"Bravado" is a slow burn enemies-to-lovers male romance with a sizzling finale. It's the third book in the "Unexpected Attraction" series by Jaylen Florian, author of "Thirst," and can be read as a stand alone story or as part of the series.
Marshall Clay, a reporter, is cunning and works hard to get to the bottom of a story. Rodney Riggs Redfern, an artist with two secrets that are unavoidable in his life.
Marshall believes Rodney is a fake and not true to the art he sculpts. Leave it up to him to be on the case. Trying to uncover the real deal behind the man.
As Marshall begins to dig into Rodney's background, what will he uncover to make him think better or less of the man?
In the mean time, will Rodney have any resentment towards the reporter who will not let up? All he wishes to do is escape the past mistakes. Turns out, he's not the only one hiding a painful past. Marshall's former boyfriend was caught by him, with the neighbor.
What will they do? Can they come together and allow the relationship to flourish. Will mistrust get in the way of happiness?
A high stakes, slow- burn between two alpha personalities. Enemies-to-lovers indeed. ********************************************************************** This is only my third book and third in the series, by Jaylen that I've read. The first two brought their own slow burning spice to the pages. This one wasn't didn't disappoint. Can be read as a standalone, but well worth reading all three.

Follow your gut when you're working on trust! Marshall, reporter, was studying one passenger who he found incredibly handsome. They played eye tag while waiting for the train and continued once seated. Marshall was in business class and the stranger. Rodney Riggs Redfern, artist in economy class. They never got to talk because of a misunderstanding on Marshall's part. There are a few misunderstandings, a few moments of clarity and peace, a few moments of absolute hotness. The author directs these two on a path that is not smooth and presents many challenges. Each man must make career decisions that impact them personally. A few mysteries are interwoven and resolved. Good story. It had a very convenient ending. Nicely done. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Very interesting story about an artist (Rodney)and a columnist(Marshall). They have a chance meeting on a train. Attraction was intense and instant but they don't act on it...chance meeting. Due to some misunderstandings Marshall writes a column on how "fake" Rodney is only to find out he didn't get his facts straight. This takes us on a journey of redemption on Marshall's part. Rodney still feels the pull with Marshall and decides to forgive and get to know him better. Romance blossoms and sabotage construes with a little twist towards the end. A nice HEA for the guys at the end.

Okay, I have issues with this book, but I can overlook most of them because I liked the story. However, it could have been so much more then the console sex scenes, especially when the artist characters paints/ sculpts in a jock strap!
