Carrie finds a set of wooden flowers in her Grandmother's Closet.
Grandma tells her they aren't magic wands. They're Wandas.
Wanda's don't do magic. Wandas are magic. They're female wands, of course. The first thing Carrie does is turn them into real flowers. She tries to put them into a vase of water. But magic flowers don't like to be wet.
‘Magic Wanda’ starts with Carrie, a little youngster, who gets a family treasure from her grandma, a crate named Wandas. After opening the case, she finds three blossoms, causing her a deep sense of disarray. To clear her disarray, she video calls her grandma who essentially expresses that she was happy that Carrie had found the ‘Magic Wanda’. Credulous and blameless simply like some other child of her age, she really questions whether she should put the 'Magic Wandas' in water, to assist them with developing, while at first excusing the way that her grandma had really uncovered the special element of the 'Magic Wandas'. Notwithstanding, somewhat later, she mulls over the interesting element of the 'Magic Wandas' and guiltlessly questions whether they would help her in preparing for the gathering, to which her grandma just guilefully expresses that it was up to her how she utilizes the 'Magic Wandas'. From here on, we follow Carrie's excursion of revelation of the one of a kind sort of the 'Magic Wandas' and their particular capacities, while likewise revealing the nature behind her enchanted bloodline, something that had, lamentably, avoided an age in her family. The short story keeps on unwinding the extraordinary connection among Carrie and her grandma and the uniqueness of the 'Magic Wandas' which was eventually secured to her supernatural bloodline.
Magic Wanda is the third book in the Grandma’s Closet’ series by Lois Wickstrom. It is an interesting, illustrated children’s storybook- with a bit of adventure, a touch of drama, a little whimsy, and plenty of imagination. We continue Carrie’s adventures with the things she has discovered in Grandma’s Closet. Grandma has some interesting things stored in the closet and this time it is some wooden flowers that grab Carrie’s attention. But magic flowers don’t like water. So, what else can they do? Making for another cute read. As I have mentioned with the other book in the series- I love the cover illustration, but was really disappointed to find that the interior illustrations are not of the same type/style. The inner illustrations, although quite whimsical in a naïve style- weren’t quite as ‘interesting’ or appealing to me- and I don’t feel that they draw or hold your attention like the cover picture does. The cover picture made me want to find out what happens and captured my imagination- but the inside pictures were a bit lacking- in my opinion. Still a cute story though… Grandma’s Closet series consists of (so far): -Carries Flight (Book #1) -The Round Box (Book #2) -Magic Wanda (Book #3) -Treasure Hunt (Book #4) Happy reading!
Enchanting and captivating, this book is a delightful journey into the world of magic and the special bond between grandmothers and granddaughters. From the very first page, I was drawn into Carrie's magical adventures. The author skillfully weaves a tale that is both heartwarming and exciting, perfect for any little girl with a love for magic. Carrie's grandma is a charming character, embodying the warmth and understanding of all grandmothers. The unique relationship between Carrie and her grandma adds an extra layer of sweetness to the story, one that many readers will relate to. As Carrie discovers the magic of the Wandas, readers are taken on a whimsical journey filled with wonder and excitement. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking a magical escape into a world where anything is possible.
My kids and I absolutely adore each book we pick up from this author, and this one definitely ranks in our top 3 favorites for sure! This continues from the first book where we read about the items Carrie’s grandmother left behind when she moved. I love the bond between her and her grandma so much, and you can really feel it throughout the story. The magic of imagination here is tremendous as she finds a box of Magic Wandas and goes on an adventure! The illustrations are beautiful, and I truly enjoy the different fonts that are used throughout. My kiddos always leave these books with a smile, but this one created a whole new game to play thanks to the creativity of this author. I highly recommend picking this up and sharing with the young ones in your life. I bet you’ll get a kick out of it as well!
Magic Wanda is book 3 of the Grandma's Closet series by Lois Wiskstrom. It was my first book by this author, and I didn't realize before reading it that there were 2 previous books, so I was a little lost at first. However, it's clear to see that Carrie and her grandma have a special bond. Carrie finds a box of wooden flowers, which her grandma tells her are Wandas. They are magic. Carrie believes this to be true without a doubt, but Carrie's mother just doesn't understand. Carrie's mother wants Carrie to get ready for the party before the guests arrive, but Carrie is simply having too much fun with the Wandas, one of which turns into a soft cuddly kitten. It's a cute story, with nice illustrations.
Magic Wanda (Grandma’s Closet) by Lois Wickstrom. I love this series and my 6 year old nephew loves them as well. We read each one that comes out together. Its the continuing story of a young girl named Carrie and her Grandma who used to live with her but has recently moved. Her Grandma left a closet full of stuff so Wanda loves getting into it. When she looks this time she finds a box full of wooden flowers that her grandma calls Magic Wanda's. The Magic Wanda's want to play and Carrie's mom is getting aggravated because she is trying to get ready for a party. These books are so fun and full of imagination and play. They would make amazing gifts and great for a teacher and their classroom.
'Magic Wanda' is the delightful creation of Lois Wickstorm. It is a short story featuring a little girl, Carrie. The centre highlight of the book is a magical 'wanda' that is presented to Carrie as a gift from her grandmother.
The book successfully captures the innocence of a little child and the purest bond with her grandmother which adorned with love and affection.
The book is a perfect purchase for a young adolescent child whose brain still in formation. The magic is the most important aspect of the book, the audience is guided to the real magic of the book or the universe ie. Bond, love and care the guardianship of which surpasses the possessions of all telluric magics.
5 Stars Magic Wanda (Grandma’s Closet) by Lois Wickstrom
Magic Wanda is the third book in Grandma’s Closet. This is a fun children’s book that is aimed for children ages 4-8 but any child can enjoy this super fun story. My five year olds imagination took off as soon as I started reading and the colorful illustrations brought the story to life. We read the story as is the first time and then my son wanted to read it and what an adventure we went on. We love this author and her fun stories that teach important lessons. We look forward to reading more from this Author and probably this story many more times.
Magic Wanda is another book in the Grandma's Closet series, and I read it with my 8 year old. We are big dans of this author, but this book was not our favorite. It required the stretching of imagination a little further than my son has, so perhaps for younger readers. Carrie's Grandma no longer lives with them, but has a closet full of goodies. Carrie often goes into the closet when she is missing her Grandma. This time she found a box of "Wandas" - magic wands. She takes these Wandas on magical adventures around her house and yard, having them transform into various things. The illustrations are always colorful and engaging.

Magic Wanda is a good story for a young child, the magic in the story plays an important role to keep the children engaged and entertained . The writer did a great job , and this short story is worth a read.
We all have spent our favorite times with our grandmother's and the bond has always been very special. Similarly in this book "Magic Wanda"- the story of a young little girl Carrie and her wholesome relationship with her grandma. Grandma teaches Carrie some magic tricks and gives her the Magic Wand... Carrie being a responsible kid, used the powers very limited and always cherished her bond with her grandma. This book took me down a lane of memories with my grandma and has been a very interesting read, and you must read the beautiful story too
Lois Wickstrom's "Magic Wanda" is a delightful and imaginative children's book that explores the themes of magic, creativity, and the importance of using power wisely. The story is engaging and the illustrations are charming, capturing the wonder and excitement of Carrie's adventures with the Wandas.
Overall, "Magic Wanda" is a fun and thought-provoking read that will entertain and inspire young readers. Wickstrom's writing style is engaging and accessible, making it perfect for children who enjoy stories about magic and adventure.
Magic Wanda is a colorful, magical and imaginative story that we follow Carrie once again and what her Grandma has in store with something new. Carrie must get ready for the party, but all Carrie wants to do is to know more about "Wandas". Carrie learns that "Wandas" are magical and fun. What does Carrie learn about this magic....definitely read and find out.
This is a fun filled story more for ages 4-8 years but can also be enjoyed for the young at heart. The illustrations are colorful and engaging and who does not love a magical book..
Everyone was excited to start a new book by this author, and what a fun book this one was to read. The whole story is designed to spark the imagination and I could see it happening with my daughter as we read the book. The images in the book were creative and helped to keep my kids engaged from start to finish. As a parent, I always enjoy books by this author as, not only are they fun, but they are based on a great premise. This is probably one of our favourite series from this author and we are all looking forward to what comes next.
Magic Wanda (Grandma's Closet Book 3) is such a cute book!! Cute story and fun art!! I think that most younger children (under 10) would love this magical story and follow along easily. This book is about a young girl named Carrie. She finds a box in the closet and when she asks her grandma about it, she learns that it has magic Wandas inside it. Not wands, but Wandas. Different right? Well there is a reason for that!! You have to read the book to find out, but let me just tell you that Carrie has quite an adventure with these Wandas! She even almost gets into trouble with her mom!
There are so many wonderful things hidden in Grandma’s closet and Carrie keeps opening them one after another. This time, she picks up a wooden flower, these are magical flowers which do not like to be wet. Carrie seeks grandma’s advice but grandma wants her to explore on her own. More than the magic itself, it is a beautiful bond between the grandma and the granddaughter which are a highlight of this story. The illustrations can be a little better . But the overall heart of the story is set in the right place. Children will love this story.
Magic Wanda (Grandma’s Closet) by Lois Wickstrom 4 Stars
This is book three in the series Grandma’s Closet. Grandma’s closet is filled with wonderful magical items. While searching the closet, Carrie finds a few wooden flowers. Calling her grandma to ask about them, she e y to Carrie that they are female hence the name magic Wandas. They are not magical, they are magic itself. All it takes is a little imagination and wishes. The story is imaginative and charming. Filled with colourful illustrations to engage younger children. Read to find out what Carrie decides to do with her Wandas!
Carrie looks through the stuff grandma left behind when she moved. (Which you read about in the previous book.) In the closet she finds wooden flowers, which her grandmother tells her are Magic Wandas, not wands. This is where her fun adventure begins, using her imagination as the key.
I love this fun book about the power of imagination and all the things your imagination can create. Will everyone understand what you create? No, Carrie's mom is a perfect example of this in the story, but that shouldn't stop you from dreaming and creating! Definitely a fun read for younger children.
Magic and imagination!!! This story is full of a bit of both. This is the perfect book to share with the kid in your life who still takes all those adventures without every really leaving home. Wickstrom has continued to paint a story showing you can have a strong bond with someone even when they are not with you all the time, which is what Carrie and her Grandmother have. When she moved, she left 4 boxes each that have contained items that have helped on the other adventures Carrie has already been on. I would recommend the whole series! You won't be disappointed.
A story that talks about the child bond with her grandmother. She's a child with magic in her active imagination in the water. She discovers the uniqueness of magic which was discovered and revealed by her grandmother. The grandmother says that it's up to her how she uses the magic Wanda's! Followed by the Carrie and her grandmother's bond with eachother. At the end it's said that the answers or any secrets are only with the Carrie.
We are such fans of this series. I love Grandma's Closet. Being a grandma myself makes this such a fun series. In this story, grandma tells her about the magic wandas, which look like flowers, but they have magicand can talk. They can look like anything. The story allows for creative thinking aand allows for the imagination to roam. We enjoyed reading this one and plan to add it to our story library.
Always such beautiful illustrations to accompany the never-ending imagination of Lois Wickstrom and Carrie. Grandma’s really do always have the most interesting stuff. This installment was about magical wandas and honestly my favorite part was the comparison of wands and flashlights. They only work on things outside themselves. How does that make Wanda’s different well you’ll have to read and find out.
Carrie has found more items in Grandma's closet. This time they are wands, or so she thinks. Carrie soon finds out that these are not wands at all but Magic Wanda's. They are very different but very cool and Carrie can't wait to see what else she can find in the closet!
Super cute book that would make a great bedtime story! I am a huge fan of this author and recommend her books to be on every library shelf, whether public or private!
I really enjoyed this book. I definitely recommend this to any little girls who just love the idea of magic. This was definitely a page turner and I enjoyed the whole book. I was glued to the book and was kind of sad that it wasn’t bigger! I also just love how the grandmas character is sweet and understanding as all grandmas are! And it’s even more wonderful of the special relationship carrie shares with her grandma that mom wouldn’t understand!
Magic Wanda is an exceptional book that depicts stories with a combination of innocence and imagination. This book has four parts and each part has stories that touches your heart. The book tells about a young girl who's grandmother gifts her a box called "Wandas". She discovers the unique powers of the box and if you're also curious to know the powers, you must read the book.
Magic Wanda (Grandma's Closet Book) by Lois Wickstrom- 5 out of 5 stars
This was an adorable story. My kids loved all of the "adventures" and learning what a "Wanda" was. Beautiful illustrations perfectly depicting everything marked up the pages and brought the book to life. This was an enjoyable book all in all. I highly recommend this book especially to those with little ones.
My kids liked the story and were interested in what the Magic Wanda's could do. They asked a lot of questions about the magic Wanda's and wanted more adventures!
Overall it was a cute story for an adult to read to a child. The constant change in font style and size may make it hard for kids to read on their own.
Carrie once again finds something magical in Grandma's closet! I love how Wickstrom encourages kids to use their imagination and yet she's always teaching lessons within her books. Carrie and the Wandas' story is very intriguing and fun and as always the illustrations are fantastic. I love reading Wickstrom's stories to my kiddos.
What a fun story. I really enjoy Carrie’s adventures with her grandmother’s things. This time she discovers magic Wandas, her mom sees a doll, but Carrie sees a living and talking being. It is really cool that Lily makes her wishes reality while waiting for her family’s party. I absolutely love the art, Carrie in her pink party dress is the cutest.
This was a cute little story full of fantasy and magic. Carrie’s grandmother knew that Carrie needed magic in her life to help her prepare for a party that was making her nervous to attend so she provided her with the magic Wandas which helped her become less nervous. The story is cute and I think many little children will enjoy the story of Carrie and the magic wandas.
