Sweet and sexy story!
WOW! Even though this is a very sweet, second chance romance, the sexual tension and chemistry between Heavy and Henrietta is explosive and oozed off the pages. It left me in a puddle on the floor!!!
Just read this:
"I want him hard. I want Heavy. Frenzied, forceful, with abandon. I want him inside me, delving deep, drowning me with his scent, his touch, his every salty drop of sweat. I want his growls. I want his face shifting to his magnificent beast form as he loses control, his hands covered in soft hair gripping my ass as he pounds into me. I want him wild, and I want to go into that wilderness with him."
I mean DAMN that is scorching HOT!!!
Heavy and Henrietta's story is fraught with the pain of their pasts and the ache in their souls to be together. They were made for each other in every way, but with one missing a mark they feel that they need to go their separate ways. I think they both needed to grow up before they could become the powerful couple that they were meant to be.
I loved this story and the complexity of each character and the heartbreaking story they told. I was captivated, enthralled and entertained right to the very end. I loved it all.

See the rainbow
This is a romance book to remember. The author really captured the soul deep pain Henry and Heavy feel because of one missing mark. I love that she brought in so many new layers to the overall storyline and that all the characters are back together again. This is a book I have been long awaiting and I was not disappointed when I couldn’t put it down until the very end. With each new book in the series, I think I have found my favorite, but this one might just be it. The pages are filled with an emotional edginess that brought tears to my eyes more than once. I don’t know what is going to happen next with the shifter kings and I can’t wait to find out.

Heavy is in the band that Eagle manages and Grizz sings in.
He’s known the guys for a while now, not as long as they’ve known each other, but he’s comfortable with them. He had their back and knows they have his.
The names Eagle and Grizz have explain what they are, but Heavy? I did think elephant!
But no, he’s a boar shifter!
Henrietta “Henry” is Lion’s sister (first book in the Shifter Nashville series) she’s know everyone a long time, and has had a crush on Heavy forever, but she’s not his mate so she pushed him away until he left!! Why, you ask, well, she was born with a disease that was killing off her senses, until it reaches her blood, and then she’s dead!
She also knew deep down she would never be his queen (she has no crown shaped birthmark) so after he left Nashville and his friends, Henry got on with her life, but with a boar shaped hole in her heart.
And when Henry comes back to the group as a band member, fireworks are bound to happen.
Both Henry and Heavy can’t help being drawn together, so is the reason Heavy isn’t in a rush to find his Queen standing in front of him?
His clan need him though, he has to put aside his wants and needs for the moment, someone else has the same disease Henry has, but unlike Henry, this boar isn’t looking so good. What made Henry survive, when others have perished?
This book although short like the other two is full to the brim with anger and passion.
You forget it’s just a short story, but it’s filled with more than just sex!
It’s great that we see the couples from the previous stories. It also hints at the previous series, (but not so much that you feel something is missing)
Really well written, it puts an Victorian feel to the books (very much a Jane Eyre novel) but with a modern twist.
I loved the character of Heavy, he’s been with us through the last two books, very much a solid and stable character, not much irritates him.
Henrietta is more complex, thank goodness for the prologue as I would have thought it too much for a short story.
This story is the saddest of them all (and I wasn’t sure they would get a happy ending) unrequited love, they had been best friends since childhood, first loves, and confidant’s. Almost a Romeo and Juliette type of story. A forbidden and doomed love story.
With every chapter they seem to grow further apart.....
There is also the matter of becoming public, will it be by their hand or unseen forces?
I’ve loved reading these stories and I hope Snake gets a book. I’m also hoping the cousins and roommates get their books too.
Another book I’d highly recommend.

Loved Butch and his Ree, a bittersweet second chance romance
Boar shifter Heavy and lioness Henrietta, Butch and Red to each other. They have been close since they were 5 and 3 and he held her hand for days as she miraculously recovered from Percy's disease.
They only got closer as they got older, best friends then loves. Heavy was a King but Henrietta was not a queen, she knew he would give it up for her. That wasn't fair. She pushed him away, breaking both their hearts. He left Nashville for LA.
10 years later they both have tried to move on. Heavy feels deep down his Ree is his one. Henry has never stopped loving her Butch.
Heavy's friend Snake is a mischief maker and sometime he is malicious. The band needs a guitarist and a pianist. Henrietta is the guitarist he wants.
Henry needs to follow her dreams. She accepts Snake's offer and heads cross country with her new friend Rachael. Facing the man she never stopped loving was so much harder than she admitted to herself.
Perry's disease has infected one of Heavy's boar's at 23, it is unheard of anyone but a child contracting it. His Ree is the only know survivor. No one knows why, just that the blood transfusion she received worked. Her blood has been tested many times with out find a treatment much less a cure. Henry agrees to once again give blood to try. The healer notices what she really is. Henry wastes no time in claiming her Butch.
They still are facing trouble with blackmailers trying to push the paranormal community out in the open.

This is Book 3 in the Shifter Kings L.A. series. It can be read as a stand-alone. I think this is my favorite of all the Shifter Kings. Henry has always loved Heavy but she doesn’t carry the Queen mark so she made the sacrifice and let him go. Do you know how hard that must have been? And how strong she is to do that? She knows that he will be the next King of the Boars while she’s just a little lion who was born with Percy’s Disease. The only good thing that’s happened for her was when she was cured of that with a special blood transfusion. But she’s still not a Queen. He left for L.A. and became a member of a rock bank. Henry is on her way to sing with the band. The heartache in this book is so heavy that you just want to cry for everything that these two have gone through. Fate really shouldn’t make it this hard on two people who grew up loving each other but knowing it couldn’t happen. Or could it? I highly recommend that you read it and see what Fate really has in mind for Henry and Heavy. It might surprise you with what happens. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book! What a gut-wrenching emotional book!! The best Shifter Kings book from either coast! My heart just wept for Henrietta (Henry/Ree) and Heavy at how much they loved each other and yet how they knew that they were not destined to be together even though every fiber of their being told them that they should be!! The resolution for them was perfectly written and was so original!! There is even a brief fight scene for those that like some physicality included in their shifter romance books! It was so good to have the Kings from all of the previous books make an appearance with each of their Queens and that really was the icing on the this fantastic, dramatic, action-packed book that answered some questions but also created some others that left this reader eagerly anticipating the next book in the series!! As far as I am concerned, this series could go on forever and I would never tire of it!!

Henry and Heavy have a lot of history to overcome. Once dissed by Henry – can Heavy overcome his heart break and open up his heart for Henry again? Will he even be allowed to because she is missing her mark?
When you have to choose between the wants of your heart and the needs of your tribe things get a little difficult. What will they do?
Henry is an amazing character. So selfless to the extreme. Giving up the one person she knows she will love for ever, and trying to go on with what little life she has left to try and spare him heart ache.
The fact that our nemesis in this book isn’t just another evil villain – but a something or someone that you don’t really know how to fight was a very nice change in pace. Resulting in this book being another page turner.

Henrietta was born with a shifter disease Percy’s Diease that kill many of the children. At 5 years old her blood quit reproducing so they gave her transfusions and saved her, but her sight. Heavy was with her during that time but they loved each other and they thought that they had to break up because they weren’t mates. No one noticed the queen tattoo under all of the scar of experimental tests the doctors had done. King Poison’s blood healed Devon from the disease and figured that it was his mother’s blood that had saved Henrietta those years ago. After all that Heavy And Henrietta it ended up that they were king and Queen!

Can she be his queen? Henrietta and Heavy were best friends growing them more. But Henrietta can’t be his queen so she breaks up with him. And they both live the next ten years loving each other from afar. But when Heavy is waiting for his queen to appear with the mark on her arm, Henrietta is still coming to terms with the fact that they are star-crossed lovers and she will never be his queen. But fate says there is one mate for each shifter and fate won’t give Heavy a queen who he can’t love, so maybe there is hope. Second chance perfection
I don’t typically like second chance romances. If they couldn’t make it work the first time, what makes them think they can the second? This story isn’t like that because the reason it didn’t work the first time was beyond their control. My heart hurt for Henry and Heavy through the first half of the story because I could feel their pain, and then I laughed and cheered through the second half. Definitely two characters that I loved reading about!

You definitely won’t be BOARed with this story!! Lots of action and loving, plus characters we have met previously in Holly’s Shifter Kings series’.

This is book three of the Shifter Kings of LA and my favorite so far. Heavy and Henry have loved each other for as long as they could remember but she pushes him away because she doesn't have the mark of the Queen. These two go through so much in this book and this author's writing had me feeling every emotion right along with Henry and Heavy. From the amazing storyline filled with emotional twists to the well developed characters this is a fantastic read. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I really love these stories of the kings and their Queens. I am generally a big fan of paranormal romances, and love a shifter story, and that this series give me a ton of different shifters and all of them are somewhat intertwined with each other. Heavy and Henry's (aka Henrietta) story is long and bumpy, but when they finally figure out what's going on, it is really like the stars aligning.

New solutions to old problems. Good story. A new couple goes through trials and tribulations and comes out on top. Old friends becomes better friends. Friendships are solidified. Risks are enhanced. Painful decisions are put on the table. Species betrayals. Relationships strengthened. Good story. Great group of characters. Nicely done. Heavy is the King of the Boars. The LA Kings have 3 weeks to find their mates but he hasn’t even looked. He knows he only wants one Queen, Henrietta, his best friend’s sister who can’t be queen because she has no mark. Henry, mostly blind since a childhood illness, left Heavy to prevent pain for them both but now she’s back. Heavy and Henry will have to find a way to coexist. This is a second chance romance with shifters. Heavy and Henry are childhood sweethearts who are not destined to be together. The emotions of both tortured souls comes through and your heart hurts for them. This is my first book by the author and although it’s the third in the series it can be read as a stand-alone. I will be going back and reading the first two books.

HEAVY (Shifter Kings L.A. Book 3) by Holly Gunn is a really amazing story to read. This is book number three in this amazing series that I have loved reading since the beginning and I cannot wait to see what this author will write next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about erotic and paranormal romance.

This is book three in the Shifter Kings L.A. series. This is Heavy's story. Fate has kept Heavy and Henrietta apart but now the tides of turned and it is pulling them together. This book is short, sweet and oh so sexy. I enjoyed the emotional roller coaster ride of the story and the journey of finding a HEA for these two great characters. Enjoy!

This was such an emotional and complex read! So much heartache is outpaced by sizzling chemistry, though, and as they get their second chance at an HEA, things become clearer and you can't help but cheer them on. I really felt a whole gamut of emotions while following their journey to be together to the point it was a one-sit read for me. Love when that happens!

I loved this series and I think this is my favorite book so far in the shifter kings series. Heavy and Henry do not walk an easy path to romance but it is totally worth it. The characters are engaging and the plot is easy to follow and read. I like this style of writing and the length is perfect for a rainy afternoon. This author is becoming one of my favorite shifter romance writers!

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. This story with Henrietta and Heavy it was a push and pull, Heavy did not know if Henrietta could be his Queen. There was a lot of twists, heat, hot, lust can they add love to that.

Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.
