Detectives Jo McGee and her partners find themselves in the uncomfortable position of being duty-bound to apprehend him. How can they do that when he keeps helping them just when they need him the most?
Could he be an eccentric millionaire like Bruce Wayne, or could he be a decorated member of the Police force hiding in plain sight? The plot thickens when details emerge about the Dark Avenger’s secret activities. Could the Masked Man of Mystery be the one sending them anonymous tips, so they just happen to be in the right place at the right time?
This disaster will require all Jo’s resource and strength to make it out alive. Could it be the Dark Avenger sees and knows enough to come to her rescue one more time?
This was an amazing book, packed with actio, plenty of twists and turn and The Dark Avengere who kept appearing at the perfect time to save Jo and Nate’s butt. It starts out with 2 couple who are also cops and they each partner with their significant other, but sometimes they all work together. The book starts out with Jo & Nate and Kat & Blake all at a cemetery where they have been tipped off that something would happen. It starts out quite then the hear lots of people running back to the road and they are all dressed in black and when they see the 4 cops they start shooting, but Jo, Nare, Kate & Blake shoot back too. They shoot several of them but some they shot in the knee were pulled into a black van that was waiting and a lot of them got away, but they did get some shots at the van. Then they all start searching the cemetery because they had to be there for a reason. Jo and Nate come upon a tombstone where an older lady is tied up and there is another man in all black they they yell stop, it’s the police, but he looks around and with some amassing moves gets away, they chase him but see him get into a Black Lamborghini. They go back to check on the woman and she tells them the last man they chased away had came to save her. He had fought off several men and they took off running and he was trying to get her untied when Nate & Jo showed up. One of the guys they did capture was Justin Kingston whose father was well know to be in all sorts of illegal business dealings but they could never prove anything on Gabriel Kingston. And the only person they knew who owned a Black Lamborghini was a 70 year old man. I really don’t want to tell anymore about the book, I don’t want to give anything away but also because it was so exciting to read and find out what was happening for myself. The 3 cops besides Jo have named the guy who saved the lady and who will show up again, the Dark Avenger. Jo says he is just a vigilante and doesn’t like him I liked the 4 cops and their interaction amongst themselves, but I also liked the Dark Avenger. I can’t wait for the second book to see what all happens in it. If you are a mystery fan this is a MUST READ! I was given a free copy for an honest review.
Fun and easy to read, packed with action the Dark Avenger appears every time the police force needs a hand to combat the bandits. Nate, one of the main characters has an addiction for old car and owns a red Mustang which, for sure, does not help him in being subtle when pursuing the bad guys. As a member of the author´s ARC team I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.
A fantastic mystery case that is a fast paced and action packed read. The story is written so well that I vcan picture the scenes in my mind's eye. There's twists and turns around every corner. I definitely recommend. Shauna Joesten
