There were plenty of twists and turns in book two; unexpected and clever.
The plot pushed along a winding path that created mystery, surprises and suspense - very well done. The characters were well-defined and there was a great sense of place.
I liked the writing style (despite the typos and grammatical errors), the fast pace and the natural flow.
If one more character giggles, chuckles, laughs when they are talking I am going to scream. This was a problem I had with the first book, I thought the second might be better, but it isn't. I am definite this is more for young teens...maybe younger. Luna giggles all the time, how can I take her seriously. And every time she asks a question the response is "You'll see" or "It's a surprise" Dear lord that's annoying
After 4-starring (and almost 5-starring) the first book, I had to give up on this halfway. I see no plot direction like another reviewer says, and am amazed at how utterly "confused" (termed by said negative reviewer) main character Luna is.
Every time I read one of Terry Schott’s books, there are times when I’m reading and plan on giving the books three stars at the end. Characters sometimes don’t develop in thorough ways, there are too many jumps in the perspectives that make it difficult to follow, and some scenes just annoy me. With that said, I usually end up giving his books four or five stars. Why you ask? Because the stories are so captivating! As much as I would love to see changes in this book, the story itself is excellent. My heart was pounding, I laughed, I may have teared up a bit and I definitely want to read the next one. I do recommend these books and maybe some day, the author will adjust some of his writing habits to make tel he entire experience more enjoyable. For now, I am happy reading his books and would encourage you to do so as well.
I have never found an author that made me want to read everything they've written. I have read all of the Game is life books and decide to search for more books by Terry Schott. And I found this series. It is just an amazing story. I want to keep reading you books all day every day... I am going to search for another series that I know I will fall in love with. I can't wait for Shade to come out. As well as the Game #10... The k you for you extraordinary writing Terry Schott and keep 'em coming!!!!
Stumbling at the start for lack of emotional reaction to the event at the end of book one, this instalment finished quite strong. If you can force yourself to get over the above point, you’ll enjoy the rest of this book. And the story is looking exciting for book three.
Wow I did not see that coming! This book in the series moves at a quicker pace and will answers some questions you'll have from the last book, but there are so many more questions to be answered, this is a brilliant read.
The bulk of the story involves the main character's training. So that bogged down the story a bit. The last third of the book really picked up speed and the cliff-hangar ending was good too.
thouroughly enjoyed the entiere series i devoured them !! one after another alhough at times it fealt repetitive i definitely did not see the ending coming !!!! and i usually do i became very attached to characters throughout worth all 5 stars !!! excellent work terry !
