London

I had been broken into so many pieces that I didn’t think that anyone could put me back together again. When Mason Pelletier tried he only left me wanting more. To kiss him, have him spank me…all those bad things a man like him could do to a woman behind closed doors. What was supposed to be a one-night stand left us both yearning for something more.
I know that he isn’t going to like me when he finds out who I really am behind all the black eyeliner. That’s okay because I don’t like me either.
Mason claimed to love me so why did he hurt me so badly I can’t even breathe? How can I forgive someone for something so terrible?

Mason

I was no one’s knight in shining whatever. I enjoy my ladies fun, not clingy, but always a little crazy in the sack. I knew exactly who London Sullivan was when she came to me for a little wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am. She was persistent when I tried to turn her down so we had our fun, but when it doesn’t end there I felt the need to get her out from beneath my skin. She’s so much more than I bargained for. The plan was to keep her safe from harm. To save her from the ghost that continued to haunt her. Everything I did was to protect her until it’s too late. How can I make London realize that she rescued me?

*Gravity is suitable for ages 18+. Contains sexual assault, an eating disorder and suicidal tendencies, which may be disturbing for some readers.*

Sundae Leighton writes romance novels that are sweet with a dark twist. She got her start writing fanfiction with her friends in school, but didn’t take the plunge to publish her first book (Picture Perfect) until 2020. Born and raised in Connecticut, where she currently resides with her husband and their cats. She sometimes scares herself when she writes things darker than intended, considers coffee the nectar of the Gods, and once ran the NYC marathon (OK - half marathon). Wow this one was though to read, but so fucking amazin. The pain, the trauma and the suffering this book tells us is real. I could feel it like they were my own. It broke my heart, but it also filled it with so much happiness for the journey London and Mason went through. Seeing their relationship evolution was beautiful, even with all the ups and downs, it's what made it feel real. The progress they both made was amazing to read, and to see where they ended, it just makes my heart feal so full and content ❤️

This was a crazy roller coaster of highs and lows; happiness & sadness. This book has hit me quite abit in many parts where I could relate to the main character, London Sullivan. 🥺 The pain and trauma not only London had to face but Mason, it was so real, it seriously put me in an emotional suspense! 😱

Mason tried to be a good guy, told by family and friends they weren't good for each other yet they couldn't do that. The sexual chemistry was so strong that it blossom into love but like good things comes, something always up and bumps in to make it flip upside down. 🤦🏻‍♀ The dynamics between the characters were very complex, messy, and funny and somewhat intimidating. I really love how family were very big supporters for mental health in the long run. At first I was thinking the same exact way as Mason to why act the way they did?

London was broken and fragile but at the same time wild and dangerous so it was very much new to Mason on how to handle someone who had issues. The things London went through and her struggles with accepting herself, not only from Mason and family but herself as opposed to needing to learn self worth. To be frank, while reading this I was envisioning myself, in London shoes, I felt it...like a heavy weight on my shoulders. I could relate to her in so many ways...like most characters in every book I've read that's a dark or emotional read.

The rise up and down of conflicts kept coming, either putting London and Mason together or away from each other. The journey to their happiness was a dreadful process. To get where they wanted put them through so much not from their past but in the present as well. I could not put this down, I was desperate to know what happens next and to the end! I was flooded with raw emotions with every chapter! 😭

This book is a heavy hitter so please read with caution if you have triggers that relate to mental health and disorders of any kind and past traumas like sexual abuse.
.
London struggles like we all do at a young age to fit in and be accepted which resulted in her disorder. Things progressively got worse after one point in time so we go through this book in her journey in over coming that while also finding herself and self worth.
.
Not gonna lie I didn’t understand London in the beginning. Her actions and mentality were confusing. I wasn’t sure if it was past events that caused her to react how she did but I didn’t understand it at all. She was very forward one minute then standoffish the next. The whiplash was exhausting because there seemed to be no reason for it at all.
.
Both characters are damaged in one form or another, the fact they balance each other out in some way is astounding. I hoped the character growth started earlier than it did but it was still good. I really enjoyed when London started growing as a person and taking her life by the hands. Mason, I couldn’t see any real growth he constant let outside influences control and dictate what he did and react to situations. It wasn’t until almost the end we saw real growth. Better late then never.
.
As a whole I enjoyed the plot and story. It was a bit fast paced but it was still good and the topics although sensitive are relatable and felt genuine. If your looking for an emotional and real read that deals with mental health then this is for you.

London and Mason together were explosive. Their chemistry was off the charts and I absolutely LOVED IT!

I'm not going to lie, there are triggers in this book that might not be for everyone but I honestly will read just about anything, ESPECIALLY when there are triggers. Believe it or not, sometimes these triggers teach us something that we either didn't know or it teaches us something more about it.

Mason is a NASCAR racer and he is one of those guys that he knows he's hot and can bed any woman he chooses and he loves his life this way. He can't see himself married with children because he loves women too much, all kinds, shapes and sizes kind of women, so when London propositions him for a one night stand, well, what the heck, what can he lose in succumbing to her one wish right!

So what Mason wasn't expecting was that London was so much more than he expected. She was what every man desires in a woman. She's a pretty good submissive and can definitely make a man feel like he's in heaven when they're inside her. Only problem with London is that she comes with baggage and her sister Brooklyn doesn't think Mason would be able to handle her and her problems, but what Brooklyn doesn't know is that Mason is capable of more than she thinks. The pull and push between these two had me flipping those pages like they were on fire!

Will Mason and London be able to make it work with their separate baggage and problems?

This book had me HOOKED! From the moment I started I just could NOT put it down. I loved the story, the characters and everything about this book, especially Mason;) The love scenes were so freaking H.O.T. and I loved every minute of it.

This book was dark, but perfect! London and Mason has an amazing chemistry that you could not deny. If you are easily triggered than this book is not for you. I can't wait to read more in the series!

I loved this book and London is definitely my favorite character in this series. After having such a difficult life I'm happy with how things turned out for her. I enjoyed the surprises and twists which totally had me hooked. I love the group of characters Sundae Leighton has created and I'm glad the people from the first book had prominent roles in the second book to see how they progress. Can't wait to find out who book 3 will be about!

From the first chapter I knew that I would like Gravity even more than Picture Perfect and that's how it was, the story of Mason & London was much more complex, difficult and full of drama than Rand & Sully's, and I loved it! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really enjoyed reading their constant disagreements, especially since with both characters being so complex, I think it was all very difficult to predict, plus I really liked the ending that Sundae Leighton gave to these two, and this book only makes me more excited to continue this series!

London wasn't an easy character, but one that I liked immediately, especially his belligerent & direct attitude, and the way she manages to confront Mason at the important moments. Thanks to the trigger warnings and what I read about her in Picture Perfect I could imagine the direction her story would take, but I have to say that there were twists with which Sundae surprised me alot, and it also broke my heart, particularly with the raw way of portraying London's suffering, her vulnerability, the struggle she and her loved ones face, but also her strength and her big heart.

Before I started this book I thought Rand would forever be my favorite in this series, but as soon as I read Mason's first interaction with London, I found I would love him a little more! I really enjoyed reading his attempts to resist his feelings for London, how sweet he can be, but also his wild, sensual and flirty side, and although there were also moments when he frustrated as much as Rand, I think Mason had much better reasons for being wrong in his decisions.

As I already said, the relationship between Mason & London is complicated due to many situations: London's mental and physical state, Mason's reputation, the forbidden touch of their attraction to each other and the amount of drama around them, but I think it was all worth it to read how cute they are together, how much they love each other, and the connection that has always existed between them.

DNF at 40%. I just couldn’t take it anymore. The pacing and plot was just all over the place. I don’t think I read the same version as everyone else because how is this rated so highly? I read the KU version which I think was just the rough draft nonedited version. Here are all of the things wrong in the first 40%:

1. The prologue starts off with London at 13 years old. Then chapter 1 is the present with no indication on how many years it’s been or how old they are.

2. In the prologue it’s mentioned that Mason is a NASCAR driver, then in like chapter 1 or 2 it’s said that Mason is 2 years older than London. So if that’s the case, he would have been 15 when she was 13. No way in hell would he have been a NASCAR driver at 15 years old. It also stated that Brooklyn was a few years older than London so what like 17/18 when London was 13? So at 17/18 she’s a NASCAR photographer and engaged?! Ok!

3. In chapter 2 it states that London had a one night stand with Mason after Harper and Lake’s wedding but a few sentences later it says that Lake had her tied to the bed the night before. Pretty sure it was supposed to be Mason’s name there, not Lake’s.

4. Then Mason and Rand were texting and Rand sent a text that said “you will have to ask London.” We didn’t even see Mason ask anything to get that random response.

5. Mason said he was going to call up his regular girl “Indy” to sleep with, but the very next page he said his regular girl’s name was “Missy”. So is it Missy or Indy?

6. It’s mentioned that Rand almost died in a race, and that the doctor let him out of the hospital long enough to get married. I’m talking full on wedding and reception. Then got readmitted to the hospital after the wedding. In no world would that ever happen. If he is well enough to get married and party it up, he’s well enough not to get readmitted!

7. Every character in this book tried to control London and Mason and would get pissed if he even talked to her. Like mind your own business! They are grown ass adults. Also, they all treated London like a child and coddled her, which makes sense though since she acted like a 4 year old.

8. The very last straw for me was they (London and Mason) were fighting about something after London crawled out of a window, then the next sentence they are shopping at the mall, then they are fighting again with Brooklyn, then they are having sex up against the wall, then in the bed. All on the same page. Like what? That pacing is awful.

So, I’m out and will never read this author again.

I enjoyed this NASCAR themed read for the most part. I wish the focus had stayed on the issues through the majority of the book. There was some rather unnecessary drama in the forms of 2 breakups that were rather frustrating.
