Awkward Pause is an anthology collection curated from Ryan Harby's popular online comic series Honey Dill. A love letter to odd humour, Awkward Pause is a mix of joy and sorrow, both soft and sharp. The book includes over 50 comics, which range in topic from mental health to time travel, murder, and butts. Absurd and strange in ways that will warm even the coldest of hearts.
Read favourites, such as "Percival: The Bad News Bear", "The Mental Health All-Stars", "Resume Skillz", "King of Pies", and "No-Name Halloween."
This was so freaking funny and perfectly suited to me. I literally laughed until I cried over one of the comics!
I love this weird, irreverent, goofy style of humor so much. It gave me big Bob's Burgers vibes and also reminded me a lot of the Buttersafe webcomics, if anyone remembers those. To be fair, I was very sleepy when I read this last night, so I thought when I woke up this morning that it's possible I was being overly generous... but then I remembered Beethoven twerking and "puts the ass in classical" and had a good giggle over it again, so I'm happy to rank this as a new favorite among comic collections.
I really enjoyed this collection of short, funny, laugh-out-loud comic panels. The unique art style was adorable, and the stories made me cackle!
Some of my favorites included: Perceval the Bad News Bear Stinky or Hot (Everyone’s favorite game show) Classic Movies But With a Terrifying Green Monster Cake Dad At Least Tell Me Your Master Plan And quite a few more!
This collection is perfect for a one-sitting read. The humor and silliness are almost guarantied to make you laugh, at least once!
Well, "awkward" is a nice way to put it. Yet another collection of extremely bizarre cartoons, many desperately unfunny. Although I admit I liked the section "No-name Costume Party": Information Entity (omg), Raged Hockey Fan, Alive Toy, Private School Child with Stick, Sewer Clown, Bald Cartoon Man, Pathetic Donkey, Non-specific Bug Boy, and Cheese Pervert. LoL
Mediocre at best. ‘Putting the ass in classical’ is funny tho. Less than half way through I can just tell it was from a normie white dude (I could be wrong). How does that saying go? ‘humour is born from pain’?(something like that), I guess there’s some truth to it.
This was a collection of humorous short comics, some with extensions which was nice. But overall the comic selection was jumpy and while some were funny to me, others had me lost. I think these comics are better served in the web format.
Some of these comics were very entertaining, but there was also a few where I was just like "...ok...", like didn't hit as well as the others. Definitely a fun, quick read though.
I liked the art style in this, but I found some of the comics to be either unrelatable or just a little weird. Either way, a quick, fun read nonetheless.
LOL! This was the weirdest comic book I've ever read...but, somehow, it was funny! Also, not for children. This was listed on my library's Hoopla account as "children's"...definitely not.
