His past is a nightmare. And the woman of his dreams just walked into it…
Hellhound shifter Fleance thought he’d escaped his evil former alpha for good – and the life of crime and misery he was forced to live. But when he loses control of his hellhound, Fleance realizes the past isn’t as far behind him as he’d hoped. If he wants to protect his new pack, he needs to track down Angus Parker and make him pay for what he did to Fleance and the others. Even if he needs to travel to the other side of the world to do it.
The last thing he thought he’d find there was his fated mate. Suddenly, his pack isn’t the only thing he needs to protect.
New Zealand sheep shifter Sheena can’t wait to escape her rural life and overbearing shifter family. She’s sick of being treated like she can’t take care of herself just because her inner sheep is so tiny and adorable. Except… it’s kind of… true? Her sheep isn’t just tiny, it also has a major habit of wandering into danger. Even when she’s in human form.
So it’s almost a relief when her fated mate turns up to save her from the fiery death she accidentally ran straight into (whoops) and the terrifying hellhound shifter who wanted to make her its new chew toy. Fleance is a dream come true.
Except for the little matter of his previous alpha biting her.
Sheep shifters can’t be turned into hellhounds… right?
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
I'm really enjoying this series, but this one was my favourite so far. Sheena is hilarious, both her and her sheep had me laughing out loud . I'm looking forward to continuing reading this series.
This is an OK shifter romance. The couple is likable, but it did bother me that they both had such low self-esteem. It made sense for Fleance, since he had been forced to do bad things by his evil pack leader, but Sheena's belief that she was an absent-minded mess got really old. Yes, Sheena had made mistakes that got her in trouble -- but I didn't get why that made her see herself as hopeless.
I won't give spoilers, but I have to say I loved the result of Sheena's attack by Fleance's old hellhound pack leader. That was hilarious!
One problem I have with all of Zoe Chant's series is that there is so long between books. Lots of times I have to go back and reread some of the earlier books in a series, simply because it has been so long that I don't remember all the characters. That is frustrating. I know Zoe Chant is actually a group of authors, and one person writes all the books in a series -- but I wish the books in a series could be published closer together.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Fleance, a Hellhound shifter whom we've first met in CHRISTMAS PEGASUS. He thought he'd escaped his former Alpha's evilness forever. But he was wrong, now his new Alpha, Caine Guinness, Meaghan and their pack were in danger, so decided to track down his ex Alpha which lead him to New Zealand. When he got there, he found the one he would have given up his life to protect, his fated mate, Sheena.
Sheena Mackay, a Sheep shifter who was dying to escape her life and overbearing family in New Zealand. She hated the way they treated her as though she couldn't take care of herself. Sure she had a habit of wondering into danger even when she was in her human form. Still they should believe in her, no matter what.
She found herself in danger when she accidentally ran into a blazing situation. She never expected to find her mate admist all the chaos. But she did and together they had to try and outrun his past. They faced lots of obstacles, discovered new things about each other. They became more than mates, they were home.
It was a treat to catch up with some old characters and meeting new ones. I'm happy that Fleance finally got his happily ever after. Also it was a pleasure to meet the new additions to the Guinness' pack 😘
THE HELLHOUND'S UNCHRISTMAS MIRACLE is the fourth book in Zoe Chant's A MATE FOR CHRISTMAS series. It was wonderful, fast-paced and a great read. Zoe Chant did an amazing job. You guys should give this series a try. Two thumbs up!

Fleance is a hellhound, turned by his uncle and followed Parker's alpha to the pack for a long time until Parker was defeated by Gains and Gains was his alpha. Fleance thought Cane a good alpha, but Fleance's hellhound was jumpy and had no tolerance for anyone doing anything wrong. He goes off on his own to put a stop to Parker. He ends up finding his mate, Sheena a sheepshifter that was a premie and her sheep only grew to the size of a lamb in New Zealand only moments before running into Parker. They met in the middle of the aunts new development that Parker is burning down, up to his old tricks. He and Sheena fight his uncle, but Parker slips past Fleance, bites Sheena, taunts them and disappears. She does change later but when she and her mate are threatened they all find that her small sheep had combined the powers of the hellhound and is now a giant hellsheep. She defeats Parker for Fleance to keep him from having to ever hear Parker in his head again. They become co alphas and Parker is part of their pack now. They are traveling now to pay restitution to all the people Parker had conned and end up in Pine Valley for them to see his friends which are his family including the new hellhound twins. Sheena and Fleance decide to continue traveling while doing paybacks and figuring Parker while working on their own family, then settling down for happily ever after.
Fleance aka Flea, has been losing control over his hellhound. He feels he needs to end what began with his Alpha Caine dominating over Angus Parker his former one. Since his former Alpha isn't dead, Fleance makes the determination to correct that error.
It wasn't too hard to find Angus, he's doing the same thing he tried in Pine Valley. The takeover of an area with threats and destruction. What Fleance didn't expect was to find his mate, and what a mate she is!
Sheena McKay is looking forward to traveling and getting away from the influence of her family. She was heading to the US after paying a visit to relatives on the North Island of New Zealand. Her aunts would then be bringing her to the airport in Auckland.
Her aunts weren't at the stop when she arrived, and she walks to the town to find it on fire. She is even more surprised to find a man in the middle of it all, a man that is her mate.
Unfortunately, before they could get to Fleance's car they have an encounter with Angus Parker that doesn't go very well, and Sheena gets bitten.
Far more happens because of the bite, and Fleance is determined to stop his uncle from ever hurting anyone again.
There are many tense moments in this book, as Sheena and Fleance work to outsmart Angus. Sheena is fierce before the bite but after, let me just say she's awesome!
This book is certainly not your typical Christmas tale, but I am enjoying this series immensely. I am already reading the next one.
Borrowed From KINDLE UNLIMITED The Hellhound’s UnChristmas Miracle Series: A Mate for Christmas #4 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Zoe Chant Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre:#PRN #HellhoundShifters ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ •••••••••••••• 💢 Oh, this was really good. At first I thought it wasn't and I have to say it took me a couple chapters before I got into it. But boy, once I did, I couldn't put it down. It was absolutely phenomenal. Yep, it's a Must Read! 🔹️ Fleance is a HellhoundShifter whose at the end of his rope. He knew his old Alpha, Parker would come back, Especially when he finds out about the twins. Fleance he had to finish him so there would be happiness. He end up in New Zealand and every house in this village was on fire. There in the middle of the street Fleance couldn’t believe his eyes, his MATE was runny to him. 🔹️Sheena Mackay is a SheepShifter who is going to see her Aunts. The whole village was on fire every house. It was all on fire. She ran to her aunts and she could feel that someone was inside. But who? She tried the door when it opened her Lamb took off running the other way. Nothing new her tiny lamb always ran the other way. But why would her lamb run into the fire? ☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.
I loved Sheena and Fleance’s fated mates shifter romance. It had the perfect blend of swoon, spice, painful pasts, danger, laughs, and love. Despite being an un-Christmas story, it had the happy feel and revelations of a Christmas story. Sheena is a sheep shifter who lives in New Zealand. As a result of being born premature, she has been smothered and coddled her entire life and is looking forward to being away from her family and traveling to the US. Fleance is a hellhound shifter. He was turned into a hellhound by his evil conniving uncle and only got out from under his uncle‘s control a year ago. He’s come to New Zealand to confront the uncle and stop his evil deeds. The instant Sheena and Fleance see each other, they know they are mates. Unfortunately, that’s also when Fleance is uncle shows up and things slide off what would be the normal path. The journey to their HEA is a bit of a bumpy but fun journey with baggage unpacking, truth telling and light danger. I have a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Sheena and Fleance. So I love when they finally see their worth and get swoon worthy HEAs. This heartwarming story was well written and included three dimensional characters who grow and an engaging storyline. I love this series.
Fleance is one of the three hellhounds turned by Parker and later becomes a member of Caine’s pack. His hellhound is becoming unstable and overreacting to rule breaking by others. He realizes it is because Parker is still on the loose, (he was taken away in handcuffs so unknown how he is now free to wreck havoc) most likely destroying more lives. He senses he should go to New Zealand in his search.
Meanwhile, Sheena (not the jungle queen) has spent her entire life in New Zealand, surrounded by a loving but overprotective family. Her shifter animal is a lamb that never developed into an adult sheep. Sheena is determined to have adventures before she settles down and perhaps find her mate along the way.
One of her last stops before leaving the country is to visit two aunts. There she meets Fleance in the midst of a fire in a newly built subdivision. They immediately recognize they are mates and she gives him an enthusiastic greeting. Parker is the fire starter. He and Fleance fight. Sheena joins in the fray and gets bitten for her effort. She and Fleance initially think she won’t turn into a hellhound because she’s a shifter. They’re more or less wrong and Sheena gleefully embraces her new identity.

Series: A Mate for Christmas #4 Rating: 3 stars - I liked it
This was an interesting story about a hellhound shifter named Fleance who is trying to stop his former alpha from hurting anyone else. Instead he finds his mate, sheep shifter Shenna, and they have to work together to bring down Angus. I enjoyed this book. It's been years since I read the previous books in this series so I remembered nothing about what happened, but this story was easy to follow. Fleance was a tortured man who just wants to do the right thing now. He is traumatized by his past actions that Angus, the former alpha, made him do. Shenna was an energetic and interesting woman. I found her sheep side and instincts very fascinating and fun. This is a fated mates romance so the relationship was very fast but I still enjoyed it. Shenna and Fleance were a good couple and I enjoyed seeing them build each other up and work though some of their issues together.
Sheena is a sheep shifter, born premature she’s always been tiny and adorable, her sheep too. And both of them especially gifted at getting themselves into trouble. She sets off in her on her own, set to travel the world away from her Islam home of NewZeland. When she arrives to her first stop, visiting some aunties, she comes to find their entire community in flames! Fleance, a Hellhound shifter, has just arrived on the scene tracking his evil old alpha to try to right the wrongs he was forced to commit under his old alpha, who is the one who turned him into a Hellhound. At first sight Fleance and Sheena recognize each other as mates. Now Fleance has a mate to protect and a terrifying and powerful alpha to defeat. In the fray, Sheena is bitten by the evil Hellhound. But she’s already a shifter, so she’ll be fine right? Or so they hope, until sheena’s sheep goes silent...
This story has a lot of great ironic humor, there would have to be when a Hellhound and sheep shifter get together, wouldn’t it?
over all good story, some things didn’t make sense, but I get where author meant to go, or tried to go. But really? There were some issues of continuity. And also Use of incorrect characters names . Like when flea & she were alone .. instead of Flea said this or did that .. it would use Parker’s name. When Parker was not even present. I stoped and reread those parts over and over trying to decipher who she meant . And came to the conclusion that is should have been the MFC. Just things like that that would pull you out of the story . And disrupt the flow. Editing should be done with a final read from author and alpha reader . To catch stuff like that. Cause spellcheck is not going to catch it. Is it? I’ve written things and every single time I reread it . Over and over I found something new that needed correction.. that means I end up proof reading my writing 10 times or more. Author is in too much of a hurry to release book to give a proper final read. Otherwise she would have caught these things.
Fleance is having trouble controlling his hellhound, until he figures out that it needs to do something about his former pack leader. So he goes to New Zealand and finds Parker harassing Sheena, his sheep shifter mate! They get away, but Parker bites Sheena. From then on there are a ton of twists and turns to keep you guessing! I loved this story. Both Fleance and Sheena have to overcome feelings of being not good enough. How they do this is amazing!
This story has a blazingly fast pace (yes, I meant that!), a hopeful tone and a character and action oriented storyline with some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and engaging. It was so great to see Fleance come into his own! Read these stories in order, if you can. If not read this...but then I bet you will get the rest of the series. If you like action as well as twists and turns with your shifter romances, then you will love this story and series! Enjoy!

I just cannot give this five stars. As much as I enjoyed most of this story, at times it felt repetitive, if not downright unbelievable. I was left feeling too many issues were not tidied up. Parker being allowed to live to make amends was just silly. The damage he had done over the years could never be put right in some cases. People losing everything do not always bounce back and I am sure some suicides would have occurred. Fleance is his nephew anyway, so he would inherit and be able to try to make amends. I also get the feeling, though it is not stated, that he may have caused the death of Fleance’s parents to gain control of their assets. Sheena and what she turned into was a fun highlight, not surprising she is alpha-ish. Fleance, though sweet, just never came across as hero material. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
Fleance's hellhound is absolutely out of control. He's HYPER sensitive to rule breakers & wanting to punish them. It's getting extremely serious when Caine has difficulties reining him in.
When Fleance realizes Meaghan is carrying hellhound twins ... he figures out what the problem is. His pack is vulnerable ... and Angus Parker is still out there. Still a threat. He realizes he needs to take care of the problem to protect his pack. He heads to New Zealand to track Parker down.
Sheena is off on a delayed OE ... she's wrapping up her family visits/farewells before she heads overseas for life experiences. She's a bit scatter-brained & her sheep has major flight responses to ANY fight/flight situations. She stumbles on major drama when her aunts are missing to pick her up, and everything's on fire when she shows up at their new housing development.
Fleance just happens to trace Parker to where Sheena is ... and they both recognize each other at a glance.
What a wild ride this is. Sheena really surprised me at how she steps up and is a complete badass.
Fleance, a hellhound shifter, leaves his home to go after his uncle because he was still a threat to Fleance and to anyone else who met him. So everyone treated her as a fragile person who needed to be protected. When Sheena sees Fleance for the first time she realized he is her mate. Fleance knows they are mates. When his uncle bites Sheena she is transformed into a hellsheep. Fleance had a really bad life up to this point. Together they fight and beat his uncle. Fleance goes off to Australia to put a permanent end to his Uncle's evil schemes that hurt so many. Sheena is on a roundabout trip to leave Australia, and get away from an over protective family. They meet in the middle of a town on fire, The mating bond snaps fast and fearious into place between them. When she mentions the intense fear she had felt, Fleance recognize his Uncle touch, knows he has to get Sheena out if there. That plans fails as his Uncle appears. Read the rest of this very good fast paced, action filled, romance To see the weird turn it takes, as nope won't spoil the surprise. It's a fast read so hurry and get to it you won't be fleeced.
Fleance's hellhound is out of control and objecting to anything it perceives as unjust. He's scaring people and hasn't figured out why. His uncle Parker was the old alpha who turned Fleance and then made him do awful things. Caine defeated Parker and became the new alpha but a part of Fleance wants to right the wrongs. He ends up in New Zealand looking for his uncle but finds Sheena. Sheena is a sheep shifter who is venturing out on her own. She runs into the evil Parker and she and Fleance try to fight him. Parker bites Sheena and the result is a hellsheep alpha. Definitely a twist to the story. The book had drama but humor too. Enjoyed reading it.
Oh My Giddy Ant!! You created a new kick arse female alpha dual shifter!! So cool, so fire breathing hot too! This story was, at first all over the world, but when it all came together, I could not put it down, not even to charge, I plugged it in and kept reading!! Redemption and a new beginning for both of them. Family, a real family, not of blood by of heart!! I loved reading this book!! And what a way to possibly introduce a whole new shifter, new series!!
Through this book. Maybe because I disliked Flea. I could not stand it and skipped chapters to see if the sheep mate of his would change things. Nope, still wandered. I did enjoy the part when the met up with her family. BUT then it went flat when they went back to USA. Only perked up when the dragon kids came in. Then splat again. Was disappointed in the reunion of his ex alpha and the new “pups.” Frankly felt like book was outlined by author but written with someone else that did not vibe. Hopefully other book is better.
The Hellhound's Un-Christmas Miracle (A Mate For Christmas Book 4)
The love story of Fleance and Sheena. Fleance has travel to New Zealand to find his uncle. Angus Packet is up to his old tricks plus he looking to start a new pack. Can Fleance stop him? Sheena is a sheep shifter and her family thinks she helpless. While she is a fire in her aunts' home and run into Fleance and she Mets her mate. Can a sheep shifter and a hellhound find happiness? Great story.
I liked the basic plot like of this book, but I found the whole Bad Alpha, and the physical dynamics of Hell dogs and their abilities constantly controlling their packs very confusing. It made it hard to follow, and enjoy the story. Too complicated , for me anyway. I did love how they ended up as a functioning pair. Her eventual shift was however, inspired!
Sheena, a sheep shifter on her Overseas Experience stopped by her aunts and met her fated mate, Fleance, the hellhound shifter from Pine Valley as he searched to rid the world of his former pack leader Parker. Together they , more so Sheena and her HellSheep, vanquished Parker's powers, and righted his wrongs, proving love can conquer all! A fair read.
Fleance can't control his Hellhound and he has no idea why! Not only is it out of control, but it's getting dangerous. Sheena is a sheep shifter who is always getting into trouble, mostly unintentionally. Her family thinks she needs to be coddled and protected. They end up in the same place at the same time and Everything changes. Oh yeah, they are also fighting for their lives against his uncle, who was his previous alpha.
Highly entertaining story that starts like a horror and ends like a Christmas romance
Another delightful story in this series made more so because it starts off so dark – like a dark gothic romance. Again, two mates meet and have to overcome obstacles – their own beliefs and doubts as well as external threats – but when the conflict resolves, the romance becomes hilarious at times. Chant does a great job in creating such diverse and memorable characters.
His hellhound and him has been past hell cause of a asshole!! It took him a lot 2 time 2 pressure 2 get away from the hell he knew so he decided he needed 2 make things right but he didn't expect 2 incounter his mate but she surprised him in a lot of turns and events that happened cause of his ugly past mixing with his future. It was unique. I loved it.
Who would have figured a Gallagher to the rescue? This story was good. Lots of adventure with some mega humor thrown in. The whole part with Sheena family showing up. The young dragons playing so Fleance could rescue the forest from burning down. Meeting the twins. Just a good story. enjoyed the adventure!
I enjoyed this one. I loved the hellhound angle, felt for and rooted for the male main character. His issues were interesting and made me wonder how it would be resolved. I enjoyed the female main character and the description of her shapeshifter sheep. (Sheep? Yes, and it was nicely novel.) How they came together in the end made sense and was certainly a surprise to me and also hilarious.
