The capital metropolis on the Potomac is many things to many people. Washington, DC, has everything for everyone. Even two people can find each other in a city with 700,000 people. All it takes is a little luck, a lot of heart, and following the desire to share the best moments with the right person. When the cherry blossoms bloom and at the end of March and flowers fill the city streets with pinkish tranquillity by April, that’s when Morgan realizes it the right time to finally connect with the one woman who’s been there all along, but just out of reach. Rosanna is a woman of substance and charm. She’s big and beautiful, and Rosanna always has a smile for her patrons. She’s not just the happy person behind the counter at the coffeehouse. She’s a flesh and blood vivacious woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. When she agrees to an impromptu dinner date with the brilliant surgeon, Rosanna’s already had her mind on Morgan for a long time. Tonight, it’s not just fantasy, and it is forever.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in the Doctors of Love series. This book is about Morgan, a doctor who has feelings for Rosanna, a young woman that works at a coffee shop where he gets his coffee. Rosanna and Morgan flirt with each other and Morgan decides it is time to make his feelings known. When Rosanna jokingly asks if he wants to run away with her, Morgan knows she feels the same for him and is determined to make her his. I liked this sweet and steamy story. I think Morgan and Rosanna had great chemistry. I like how Morgan wanted to be with Rosanna and was romantic and caring. Good one.
I wanted to like this book, the characters had potential but the story was rushed and inconsistent and some of the phrasing was awkward. Moreover the spelling and grammar errors were too much for me to overlook, I actually laughed at some of the odd homophones the author used. You know it’s a problem when the heroine’s name isn’t spelled the same in the chapter headings as it is in the story and many of the grammatical and spelling issues could have been resolved using spell-check. The author has potential but she needs to flesh out her stories more and get an editor (or at least use the spelling/grammar check program on her composition platform).
