Alpha Lyle lives his life in his twin brother’s shadow. He’s fine with that. He’d rather be a pack Beta than their Alpha any day of the week. Who needs that stress? When the Ashcliff Pack Alpha calls upon an archaic law demanding the Greycoast pack host their Alpha’s only child in hopes of creating some sort of power couple, Lyle is all heck no and that’s even before he discovers he’s the intended mate. If he didn’t want to be the Alpha of his own pack, there was no way he wanted to be the Alpha of another. As long as he can find a way to turn the offer down without causing a pack war, everything would be just fine.
Omega and crocodile shifter Emmett has spent his life being thought of as less. A product of his father’s infidelity, he is referred to by the pack as their scarlet letter. The only crocodile shifter in a pack of pure wolves has put a target on his back. The only reason they didn’t put him down as a babe, was because the pack’s Alpha Omega took a liking to him and collected him as a sort of pet. That didn’t last long, and he went from pet to slave the year he turned sixteen. But things could be worse than being a manservant for their spoiled brat of a son. As long as Emmett continued to wait on him hand and foot, everything would be fine.
Lyle planned to meet the omega, be distasteful enough he got rejected, and move along. The last thing he expects is for the omega to come with his own manservant and for that manservant to be gorgeous, hilarious, and sweet as can be. Lyle’s wolf knew the quiet crocodile shifter was his fated mate. Now Lyle must figure out how to get out of the arranged mating, not start a pack war, and convince Emmett that they are fated mates. You know...just some minor details.
Finding His Purpose is a sweet with knotty heat M/M Mpreg Shifter Romance by the popular writing team of Jena Wade and Lorelei M. Hart. It features an Alpha who is learning his role, an omega discovering he’s more than his place in pack hierarchy, a power hungry omega willing to get what he wants including getting in the way of true fated love, a wolf pack discovering that a crocodile makes a pretty darn good pack mate and an adorable baby. Jena began writing in January of 2013 as a New Year's Resolution--and so far she has stuck to it!
She lives in Michigan. By day she works as a web developer, and at night she writes. Born and raised on a farm, she spends most of her free time outdoors, playing in the garden, or riding her horses. She also helps run the family dairy farm.
A Sweet & Emotional Omegaverse MM Romance with fighting against past (& some Present) discrimination, A Growly & softie Alpha, A Kind (& tortured) Omega, Surprise meets, Hurting Truths, Sexy hotness, Fun Showdown, Love, being family, Baby & HEA. I loved Lyle & Emmett! This story was great, DEVOURED this in 3hrs.
Alpha Wolf Lyle is working as the interim alpha of the Greycoast pack, since his Twin Byrom is on parental leave. Seeing them so happy, Lyle also wants his fated mate. But the Leaders of Ashcliff pack with Archaic beliefs want him to arrange mate with their Omega son Warren. Lyle's not interested but they're forcing a 1 month period on him to live with Warren...& Emmett. He agreed to not start a pack war.
Emmett is 21yr old (& virgin), born from infidelity, never accepted by his pack. Being a Rare Crocodile Omega shifter in midst of Wolves doesn't help. To keep on living, he'd to be Warren's servant. Warren who once was his friend is now also darkened by the thoughts of his fathers. Even worse, Em's collared, His Croc not freed for the last 5 yrs.
From the Moment Lyle & Emmett meet, the interest & Heat is there, their animals calling mates. But their situation is impossible... Lyle & pack builds Em's confidence, likes & accepts him. As Warren had been wanting to mate someone else (as we found later), he keeps to himself. Which leads to Em & Lyle growing closer, this place (& that lake!) feels like home to Em. When they give into eachother, it's evident they're fated...But can they claim eachother without starting a war? ~Hurt, Future, Interim, The meet, Arranged, Living together, Mate, Morning walk, Curious, Dinner, Schooling fun, Picnic, The idea, Special, Warren's trouble, Prisoners, Water & Naked, First times, Its Fated, Hope, Fight & Acceptance, Dark Truths, Overheard & Confront, In spell, Gone, Love & Mating, Saved, Home, Nesting, Official, Egg & Baby!
There are problems, but Acceptance do comes, from Warren too. We also find Truths about Lyle+Byrom's father's accident (Murder!). It leads to quite the Edgy finale, so many Secrets revealed! About Magic, Alpha Omega, Bad Ashcliff, Cord's Ancestry...But Afterwards, I'm so happy that Em & Warren can choose their own future. Emmett & Lyle get their HEA (+ baby!) & the Series-arc has thickened. Up Next is Kade's book, so exciting!
Wow... as good as book one was I was expecting at best book two would be just as good as the first. However the authors have taken everything in this book up a big notch! More heat, more intrigue, more tension and more reveals! I literally devoured this book and now I am just going nuts that I have to wait till like October for book 3! The authors in these books have created a group of guys that I want to get to know much better. I wish there could be much more than just the 3 books, cuz there are so many interesting possibilities with this pack!
I remember the second book better than the first, but still not well enough to not be entertained by it. I definitely like it better though. It earned the four stars fair and square
Oh, sweet drama!!!! A pack that wants to arrange a mating with the Alpha's brother. Some visitor who crashes, including a slave with a collar that prevents him from shifting. An omega who discovers the tenderness of a Pack, the tenderness of an individual, something he never had the opportunity to have. He is still submissive to his master, but what to do when the feelings for the future mate of his master develop and he discovers that they are fated mates.
Will they be able to break the arrangement? And what about when the dark magic gets involved? Will they win in the end?
And ALL the TWIST, all the plot uncovered, and the THRUTH emerge. OH MY, you are in for a good ride! Don't doubt. Just dive in!!!
Finding His Purpose is the second book in Jena Wade's and Lorelei M. Hart's newest m-preg series, Greycoast Pack.
I was really looking forward to this second book, having read the first Greycoast book when that came out. Reading the blurb (from what I learnt in Byrom and Cord's story) I knew that there were going to be so many elements of this book that I would love - and I was not disappointed.
For one, of course, there is M-preg and shape-shifters and those are a guilty pleasure. I also liked the idea that one of the MC's, the omega, is a crocodile shifter, which is a little different in the world of shape-shifter romance. Then there is a possible shady pack to deal with and an unwanted arranged mating. A shifter that needs some help and a home where he is accepted. And another strong shifter, that although he knows his strength, doesn't know what he wants or what he needs.
I could rave about how much I enjoyed Finding His Purpose all day. However, I got some cross stitching I want to do so I will keep this relatively short.
Lyle is the younger identical brother to the Greycoast alpha, Byrom. Lyle doesn't have the desire to lead and much prefers his life as his brother's beta. They are a team and they work well together for the pack, especially since the men lost their beloved parents relatively recently (at the beginning of the first book sees Byrom forced to take power after their parents and their betas were tragically killed). However, now that Byrom has become a father and has paternity leave (for lack of a better description) after his Omega, Cord, gave birth, Lyle is placed in the position he didn't want - pack alpha, if only for a couple weeks.
This is where the story starts. Lyle is approached by one of their local packs, the Ashcliff pack. Lyle has no interest in settling down, finding a mate or having kids. He is quite happy in his position as his brother's beta and uncle to his newborn nephew. That changes when the Alpha and Omega Alpha of Ashcliff insist that Lyle goes through with an agreement between the packs for their son, an Omega named Warren, and Lyle.
Warren isn't terribly likeable, he is spoilt, rich and seemingly unaware of the world outside of the Ashcliff alpha house. We learn about Warren through the eyes of Emmett, Warren's servant, a position Warren insisted on giving Emmett when the pack rejected Emmett from the pack at the age of sixteen. Emmett hasn't had an easy life, he is part wolf, part crocodile and evidence that his omega father cheated on his alpha father, who had been the alpha of the Ashcliff pack. After the death of both his parents, the current Omega Alpha took him in and Emmett grew up with Warren thinking the other omega was his friend.
The moment Emmett and Lyle meet is electric. However, Emmett has been treated so badly all his life that he hardly knows whats going on at first. While Lyle has an inkling of what is going on but the situation with Warren and Emmett being Warren's servant is complicated to say the least.
This is a sweet story with plenty shades of darkness throughout. Lyle wants his to do the best for his mate and he is slowly learning more about Emmett's life and the things he has seen. Emmett harbours a lot of hurt without really recognising it himself and in the presence of Lyle and the Greycoast pack, he blossoms. We also begin to get some mixed signals from Warren - after all, for Emmett to be at Greycoast as a guest, he has to be with Warren. And this is how we discover that there is much more to the story than Emmett knows.
I loved this book. I can't wait for the third book in the series, which will be the beta Kade's story with an omega who has only mentioned in passing a few times.
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Your fated mate is a crocodile? What's a wolf to do?
The Greycoast Pack is back. What a delightful second book. My old friends welcomed me back into their lives. I loved this story. It will make you angry. You will laugh, cry, and cheer. It will surprise you. The action never stops. You will love this book. Emmett is half wolf, half crocodile. Repudiated by his pack, he is alive only to serve the Alpha's son. He is sent to Greycoast so Warren can meet the Alpha's twin, Lyle. Only Lyle has no interest in Warren. He has eyes only for Emmett, his fated mate. When Lyle finds out Emmett hasn't be allowed to shift , it's Warren who comes up with the solution. The result is a stunning revelation that will leave you breathless. And Lyle and Byrom and the Pack will finally have closure. This is an amazing series. You need to read the first book. And get ready for book three. You will be glad you did. This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
Emmett is a crocodile shifter in a pack full of wolves. Not part of the pack, always on the outside, not even allowed to shift. Basically a slave to Warren, the omega son of the alpha. When the omega goes to the Greycoast pack to meet his mate, Emmett goes with him. When he realizes his fated mate is Warren’s intended he’s devastated.
Lyle has no intention of mating with the omega being forced on him. When he senses his true mate he know his life just got very complicated.
I’ve read fairly standard shifter books, a few cross species but nothing like a crocodile and a wolf. For some reason they just appealed to me.
Emmett is a very sweet omega and Lyle is an uncertain alpha. I liked the way the authors joined their strengths that helped them be “the one” for each other.
A little intrigue and a baddie rounded out the story. Nicely written, good interesting characters, nesting, and a croc who discovers love made this a satisfying book for me.
I really loved the setup of this book. The forbiddeness of their relationship was super fun and added some spicy angst that I loved. I also really enjoyed getting to see a crocodile shifter as so far I don’t think I’ve read any shifter stories with them included and he was adorable. Of course all of the things that Emmett is subjected to are horrifying but I am so happy with how things ended up and I hope that everything is further explained in the next book. I also loved the little teases to the next book with Kade and the shy omega. I do wish the book was slightly more proofread as there are a few typos that make it a little confusing but they are luckily few and far between. Other than that, this series is a definite favorite for me so far. Overall Rating: 💖💖💖💖💖 (5) Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (3) Fluff Rating: 🧸🧸🧸 (3) ⚠️Possible spoilers below———⚠️ Content/Trigger Warnings: drugging/brainwashing, harsh class systems, indentured servitude/slavery, mentions of murder, mpreg, omegaverse
Finding His Purpose is the second book in the Greycoast Pack series. This book has so many feels for me. I started reading it and was immediately gutted and in tears because the pack rejected Emmett for something that he had no control over. I did like that Warren saved his life by choosing him as his manservant. It means he has to live as a slave but at least he is alive. I liked his interactions with Lyle. They were cute together. It was interesting to see how Lyle and Warren and Emmett interacted to get to where they needed to be. There were lots of twists and turns in the story. It was worth reading. I liked it better than the first book and I look forward to reading the next book in the series when it comes out. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This was soooo lovely. Full of angst and romance and found families, a tiny bit of banter and a tiny bit of steam. It was so much better than the first book, so much more high stakes, and the MCs were utterly wonderful. Lyle was lovely and protective and nice, but Emmett was my favourite. He's funny and adorable and he manages to be understanding and generous, even after everything he went through, his horrific past and all the trauma. He deserves the world. Together they were so cute and so lovely, with just the right amount of steam and whole lot of protective "I'll destroy you everybody who touches him" vibes that I'm WEAK for. Surprisingly, I really adored the twist on the Mpreg at the end of the book. "Finding his Purpose" was an utterly lovely, angst-riddled but deliciously romantic, second book in this omegaverse series. I loved it.

Piers and Darren were a truly an unexpected but perfect match.
Alpha Darren suffered the loss of his brother. Needing a place to call his own and settle down, he sought and received refuge with the Northbay Pack. Life is never slow as he and fellow pack were thrust into protecting some of his fellow members from being kidnapped. Down time wasn't in the cards form him. Omega Piers arrived at the doorstep of Northbay- barely alive, pregnant and running from his current owner. The alpha and omega were destined to be together. Both broken by their different paths in the past, and determination to have a future as a family, these two have a sweet connection.
**I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.**
Finding His Purpose by Jena Wade and Lorelei M Hart is the second book in the Greycoast Pack series. This is a sweet m/m romance with shifters, pack politics, arranged marriages, magic, fated mates and moreg. I absolutely adore the omega character, Emmett... he has known hurt and unfair treatment but is still so sweet and embracing. Lyle is a great Alpha character - strong, protective and caring. Together they were both sweet and heated. There's a bit of drama and angst, a touch of mystery, and a whole lot of love.
A life of servitude does not go well with the greycoast pack. Emmet is a servant and forced to take care of the packs spoiled omega heir. Lyle is the greycoast beta. They find themselves in an unlikely situation and have to figure out how to navigate it.
I sympathized and loved Emmett from the start of the book. He deserved someone like Lyle who would accept him and his animal. It was a sweet love story about acceptance. I do wish I would have learned a bit more about Lyle but enjoyed reading their story.
This was a nice continuation of this series. I hated seeing how Emmett has been treated his whole life and it’s hard for him to accept anything else. Lyle is just trying to get through his time as acting alpha and then this whole mating thing comes up. Lyle is so sweet to Emmett and they can only stay apart for so long.
It felt like there was a bit too much of unnecessary back and forth with Warren and his acting hot and cold. In the end I still couldn’t like Warren, even if he kinda tried to redeem himself in the end. He let his father’s walk all over him and in return hurt Emmett even if he was “protecting” him too.
I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review
1st and foremost, I only found this book bc of another I looked into. A Goodreads recommended read. Thanks to readers leaving feed back, I found there were other series connected to it. It was recommended this series and another, in which I will get to next, be read 1st. I am over the moon glad I did. This was awesome! I love shifters books. They are even better when there is NOT a "norm". Different for sure and most definitely not in a bad way! I binged through this 4 book series. I couldn't get enough.
Emmett was was from an affair of one of his dads and a crocodile and was kept then at 16 he was rejected by the pack. But before he was killed the son Warren claimed him as a servant, then they went to Lyle’s pack for Warren and Lyle to mate. But not happening since Lyle and Emmitt were mates and Warren had a mate also. Everyone found out what the alpha omega had done against a lot of people, he had to answer for. Everything worked out great. Good book!
This is the second book in the :Greycoast Pack M.M shifter romance
In this installment of this series we focus on Lyle Alpha Byrom's twin brother we also meet his rated mate Emmett . There is so much fluff in this book and I loved every minute of it we also find out what actually happened to the twins parents and who was really responsible for their deaths . All in all a great read I'm looking forward to the next book in this series .
I really enjoyed this book. It is the 2nd in the series and has different main characters but is in the same pack as the characters from the first so they all make appearances.
I enjoyed Lyle and Emmitt’s relationship. Their growth as a couple was well done.
Second in the series, the storyline is not quite on par with book 1. Too much is latent, unresolved and then too quickly brought to resolution with less satisfaction than I expected. Character development was also less than book 1 and the ending while positive leaves much unsaid.
This was a great second book in the Greycoast pack I love the interaction between Emmett and Lyle it has great characters and the story moves along great add in a little angst and heat and u have a great story enjoyed it immensely
I loved this one, even more so than the first book. I loved Lyle and Emmett. And I felt Lyle's hurt and anger at his brother from what Byron said. The ending was so sweet and loving; I just wished Byron and Cord could've met their niece too
I really loved this book. I thought the first book was brilliant but this one was even better. I loved how Lyle accept Emmett as his mate not without hesitation even though he is a crocodile shifter. I cannot wait to read book 3
Kudos for crocodile shifters (even the omegas are scary AF), minus one star for rushed resolution and a) the evil omega witch pulling the strings all along b) a lost prince (even if he did abdicate).
Emmett just about broke my heart with all that he had to go through. I was glad to see how Lyle and Emmett got to be mates and get their HEA. We also learn the truth of what happened to Lyle and Byrom's parents.
I’m so impressed with the whole experience of these characters and how they found their own happiness. There’s so much drama and excitement and bravery I found in this whole story and how they came together with each other.
Boy oh boy a lot of this book was a tear jerker!!!! It also shows that sometimes the family you choose is better than the one you were born to!!!! Thank you - Lori
