Helping Humanity Expand into More Compassion & Empathy One Sensitive At a Time
While I’ve known for many years that I’m highly sensitive and I’ve done extensive and deep inner work to work with the gifts of this, Courtney’s book came along as so refreshing with the sharing of the science and research behind HSP’s and empaths.
It is my hope because of Courtney’s brilliant work that more HSP’s and empaths can now be seen for who they truly are and begin, or continue to, do the healing work to thrive in a society that will surely benefit from the gifts that come from those of us with these traits.
Courtney’s Sensitive Gifts Test, which is free to take on her website and what she discusses in her book helped me to truly feel ‘seen’ as an extremely sensitive empath and one who also definitely identifies as a sensitive-expressive. The medical background, science, and research she offers are validation and confirm that what HSP’S experience is real.
Courtney offers grounding and sound exercises for the different types of HSP’S, along with her own experiences that have her championing you on to be the best you can be. I truly believe what Courtney shares and that we, the sensitive ones, are what the world needs more than ever, and we indeed are the helpers to help guide in a lasting wave of deeper compassion and empathy for all beings on the planet.
This is the first book that I have come across that actually could explain that symptoms are actually because of sensitivity overload. There is nothing wrong with us sensitive. We just didn't know that this was the reason, or how to handle it.
For me personally, the writing was good but not easy to read. I guess it is more academic/scientific writing that doesn't flow with me.
I recommend reading this book if you are highly sensitive/empath/intuitive/visionary/for seeing the future. It is not a book to give you everything, but it might give you some answers you need. Particularly for empaths, this book actually gave me some answers other books were missing.
