When the two most important people in my life die tragically, I’m left to pick up the pieces.
Pop-pop and G-ma left me their home on Lucky Cove -my only sanctuary. They also left an inheritance to set me up for life. And more than one person is trying to rip it out from under me.
Between the grief of losing them and dealing with a family that certainly don’t act like they give a damn, I’m barely keeping my head above water. The only good things right now are the handsome neighbours who help me see beyond my loss. And they come with hateful wives and bitter exes.
My new job has me delving deep into the underbelly of the glittering Gold Coast. It puts me in the crosshairs of some people who would rather see me dead than digging into their affairs. Now I’m racing against the clock-and a tropical cyclone-to find the evidence to stop those who are gunning for me.
Will I win and get to live the life I’ve always dreamed of? Or will I become just another victim of the Gold Coast underworld? Lucky Cove is meant to be my fresh start, but could it end up being the beginning of the end?
If you’re a fan of super hot sex, snarky females and men who make you drool while ordering you around, don’t miss Lucky Cove. The first book by new author Serafina Jax.

**Authors note: Lucky Cove is a medium burn, standalone contemporary why choose romance, where the main character doesn’t have to choose between her love interests. It contains mature and some dark themes that may evoke emotions in some readers. Additionally, sexual themes are suitable for mature audiences 18+**

Three Aussie hunks...that's all I'll say and all you need to know!!

What can I say about this book?? Well...it's bloody fantastic is what it is!!

Ivy's story is a twisting, turning tale full of suspense, love, hate, happiness, anger, angst, turmoil and lots and lots of steamy hotness!! Holy hell is there steam!! I mean...what can you really expect when you have three ripped Aussie hunks at your beck and call?!

Serafina is a new author on the block and by golly has she hit the ground running! Ivy's story is encapsulating and immersive. The character development itself is fantastic and feels like it belongs in a series, not a standalone. How Serafina has fit so much into this book and not ran out of words is beyond me! The depth in which you get to know each character is truly outstanding. Not to mention the development of Ivy's relationships with her three men, each one of them evolving so organically that you begin to forget that they weren't together from the very start!

Serafina has really outdone herself on her first book and I CANNOT WAIT for her next set of books to come!

This book! It's really weird I have read a lot of books but this one... The way this author introduced each of the characters and gives them there POV is just brilliantly executed and totally sucks you in to the sexual tension...I mean the story of course! The story line is fantastic and really well written. I would not have picked this at all for a debit novel. The angst and sexual tension for both the drama and romantic interests totally holds you captivated right heoughout the book. The Aussie slang and its execution is probably the best I have read so far, not trying to cram everything Australian in just writing a brilliant story set in Australia which really felt good to read as it can be envisaged and it's relatable. I really liked the way the author used the POV, doing a slight overlap so you don't miss anything. I am looking forward to more from Sarafina!

Wow!!!! This book was so good. A pretty long book with a lot of mystery and suspense. My only criticism would be the relationship between Fox and the guys. How did he fit into the harem? There really wasn’t as much about him as with Travis and Darcy. Did they ever become sexually involved? Would have loved to see some of those scenes. This was a great read. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Btw... loved the shout out to one of my favorite authors...Sadie Jacks❤️

All in the details!

This story is terrifically detailed from thoughts, sounds, and images. The characters are developed very well, and the story is very unique and well thought out.

Serafina writes a compelling story that pulls you in from the very beginning. Travis, Darcy, and Good are a delicious set of men to help tame and bolster Ivy during a time in her life when she needs it most. And good thing, because crap is getting real!

Unexpected twists and turns kept me riveted until the very end. The heat of sexy times made me want a sequel. The descriptions were perfect and added to the feel of being in the story.

Brava, Serafina! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Holy crap! Guys this book is amazing. Its a nice long juicy read. I loved seeing Ivy develop and a character and as a person. I thought she was a bitch at first but she is one of my fave FMCs. I throughly enjoyed watching her relationships with Darcy, Travis and Fox develop and grow, especially her relationship with Fox since I wasn't sure about him at first. Its not your typical romance, there is suspense, and drama and danger. I really loved all of the Aussie lingo and learning new phrases. I love that Serafina Jax wrote the book using it and didn't change it to American lingo. So please don't be that person who leaves a bad review on an amazing book for what YOU incorrectly think are typos.

I really enjoyed this book, the story was excellent. However I just couldn’t get over the the the female main’s attitude. The men in her life were so amazing and helpful, and she was so rude and ungrateful. She acted like a 2 year old brat who got upset when she didn’t get her way. I know this author is new and I feel bad writing this, but the book got quite a few 5 stars and I just couldn’t do it with her attitude. Normally you see some growth from the beginning to end with characters like this, but nope she was the same from beginning to end...

This book has so many things going for it. The mystery is intriguing, there's a lot of intense action and the sex is super steamy. The reverse harem isn't a straightforward one and that appealed to me. Seeing how that all played out was quite enjoyable.

BUT! But, but, but. There is sooo much aggression. Ivy is mean and snaps at the smallest things. All the exes are INSANE. There are so many bad guys and at times I felt everything, including the relationship between Ivy and the guys was just so stressful. They'd be having a lovely moment and then someone would say the wrong thing and they'd be back to snapping. Everyone seemed to have anger issues. Everything was a fight and it was a bit much.

I was going to give this book 2 stars but I really wanted to find out what happened. I did skip through a fair chunk of the story though and while I enjoyed the bits I read, I'm glad it's over.

I enjoyed the characters and overall plot, it was a nice change of pace from my recent reads. I feel like the book needs a little polish though (a few assumed typos and some small sub-plot things barely touched on and then forgotten).

Okay, but...

Weird writing style, which included about 3 million more commas than were needed, which made it quite hard to read. Other punctuation was also used in odd ways. With an editor, it would be a lot more readable.
Other problems include; a barely explained background plot - I've still got no idea why the villains were doing certain things, and an FMC who was tough and smart, until she had to be tough or smart.
Won't be on the reread list.

DNF 62%. I had high hopes for this one but I've lost interest and I don't think it's going to get much better. The plot is convoluted and there's too much of it for me it takes away from the rh and characters rather than enhancing or enabling. There are some cute moments but not enough and everything was wrapped up too easily you don't just tell someone your entire life story in one conversation and then that's it for relationship development, it's a gradual process or at least that's what I'd prefer. Especially for such a long book. I'm not a fan of how often the fmc snaps it feels like the character's trying too hard to be feisty but it just comes across as mean and childish. I was really excited to explore the relationship with Fox but that has taken a complete back burner and I'm actually starting to get irritated by it I just want to drag the two characters into a room for a dmc so I can understand what the hell is going on. There was a touch of m/m which I was surprised by but that's a personal pet peeve I like my rh's focused on the girl. This has all the building blocks of what could have been an awesome book but it just fell short for me.

It was ok. It could have been way better. I rated this book this way is because of the FMC. At times she was a bitch, naive, immature, and annoying. It was frustrating really. I usually just plow through books, especially RH books. But not this one. I stopped and started a few times and read and finished another book in between the stopping and starting. It just didn’t hold my attention. A bummer really because it could have been better. I kinda starting skipping around to just hurry up and finish the book.

Also I caught a few errors of punctuation and grammar.

It was freaking stupid of FMC and some other characters to go spy on bad guys and not take pictures or video or communicate stealthy even though there is a storm...that was so frustrating to read.

To much arguing not enough communicating like adults.

So much “It’s all my fault” “No! It’s not your fault” “I want to protect you” “I’m not leaving you” etc.... it got to be super freaking annoying.

I was glad when I finished the book.

Review is of my own opinion.

I’m a bit in the minority on this one as I almost DNF’d a couple of times. Somehow pushed through. I liked Darcy and Travis and their friendship. Fox was meh as he’s supposed to be this sophisticated older guy yet he was just too wimpy. I did not like Ivy, at all. I get your dad is an asshole, but, you had the love of amazing grandparents so lighten up with the whole “I can only rely on myself” crap. Very immature lashing out at everyone and it was hard to believe she was this awesome investigative journalist when she fell apart and was going to do stupid shit when things were going badly. The evil villain plot was OTT when combined with the cyclone.

I finally finished this. And I really had to push myself through it. The only thing that kept me going was the thriller aspects of it, and even that fell flat in the end

First, the book could quite possibly have been 4 stars merely from an having an editor take a look at it. All the awkward and wrong punctuation, misused words and weird sentence structure is just the beginning. There were so many inconsistencies and confusing aspects that could have been fixed with an editor and maybe even some good beta readers.

The main part of this book follows the romance between Ivy, who just lost her grandparents and has returned to their home in Lucky Cove, and her three neighbors Darcy, Travis, and Fox. I had absolutely no interest in the romance. It all seemed purely based off physical attraction that caused insta lust/“love” that never recovered because all they wanted to do was have sex. And when they were talking to each other is was just them yelling at each other constantly. Plus the miscommunication plus dancing around the idea of the reverse harem made it worse. You’re telling me that all the men have gotten done wrong by women and yet even though Darcy and Travis are comfortable with a polyamorous relationship, they hold that information from Ivy but continue to pursue her, essentially making her (at least as she’s aware) constantly cheat on the other. It doesn’t make sense. Then there’s Fox. I have no issue with age gaps unless it’s explained and given enough background that it’s not uncomfortable. This didn’t do that. The only background we have of this “love” that started in the past between Fox and Ivy is from when she was either 17/18 (constantly went back and forth) and he was who knows how old because it’s never explicitly explained the exact age difference, and she throws up on his shoes when running and she makes a fool of herself while in a bikini trying to throw herself at him (while his kids are teenagers too). It all seems predatory in nature emphasized by the fact that all the characters can’t have a simple conversation (no matter how sad or important) without popping a boner or the equivalent and making it about sex. Please stop. How am I supposed to believe that you’ve all recovered from your horrible past relationship experience and are in love with her after a month of barely any contact because the few instances you are around y’all are yelling at each other and only thinking about shucking clothes off. That’s not love. That’s lust and there’s no way around it because it never grows from that. The only other connections she has with them doesn’t even help because she makes it an “I’m not like other girls” thing, which is annoying and sexist.

Let’s not even start on the only other relationship she’s had where she was in love with him but then realized she wasn’t after he magically disappeared and then she found out he died which didn’t really cause any issue for her. Like what????

Also the characters attributes didn’t stick very well. Travis was supposed to be this god-like cop, but all of his ideas were fed to him by Ivy which he claims he “never would have thought of.” And he thinks there’s listening device/cameras in her home but doesn’t immediately check? And the only instances of him being a good cop are the fact that he has guns (which he doesn’t pull out until they’ve been in several dire situations and never uses) and the fact that his head is always on a swivel even in instances where they already know the situation. It was awkward to read and he didn’t seem that helpful.

Darcy was supposed to be the sweet one, but then he snapped almost as much as Ivy for no reason. Can adults not have a normal conversation without yelling?

And Fox didn’t seem to fit in with them and was constantly confused. And I felt nothing in regards to his situation because I still don’t understand how he got caught up with Hana and that shit unless he just fell for her attractiveness which also cheapens his “love” for Ivy. It seemed like he was in such a horrible situation that when Ivy strolled back with her hotter, younger self, he just threw his “love” back on her so she’d help him out. Also his kids bring so close to her age and barely mentioned made me uncomfortable.

Again, the only redeeming part of this book seemed to be the thriller portion, but then it all blew to shit with Hurricane Hana because nothing was ever fully explained or evaluated. It’s still all maybes. Then her dad was potentially a good guy but who actually knows because he still tried to kill her in then end even though he said he wouldn’t hurt her and he created all this chaos by wanting something that wasn’t rightfully his in the first place.

The timing also ruining the suspenseful parts because again they all made time to have sex at the literally worst times possible, and they could’ve potentially avoided a lot of the conflict if they wouldn’t have been in each others pants all the time. But magically the “goons” ( I hate that word) magically took 18 years to come down steps or chase them across parking lots or coming up from the beach so that the main characters could kiss and grope and cry and talk and argue.

I could really go on forever but I’ll stop here.

Wait I forgot my biggest issue. She gets made at them for not using protection, and not only does Travis admit to going through her MEDICAL documents to see she’s clean and then making his and Darcy go get tested, they never say anything about, oh, I don’t know, the fact that she could get pregnant. They just sweep that under the rug, and she’s like “oh, okay, that’s fine.”

Hang on to your hats!

Lucky Cove was an intense, emotional rollercoster that had me holding my breath. It was suggested by Amazon, and I am so glad that I gave it a try! It did not disappoint!

Ivy was so sassy and full of snark that I fell in love with her character almost instantly. When a tragedy strike home and she loses her grandparents, her life starts to take some turns, taking her first and foremost back to Lucky Cove where she spent her summers as a teenager. Ivy may have changed since the last time she was there, but so did the rest of the neighbors.

The writing of the characters was phenomenal in that every chapter kept leaving me with questions, but not in a way that made me mad, just enough to keep my interest. The book offered multiple POV and is action packed with suspense and mystery. When you think you figured something out, I felt that the rug was pulled from under me in the best way.

I loved the men of Lucky Cove as well, and how they were together. The relationships didn't feel forced or completely unbelievable. I enjoyed the entire story, and would love to see more of Ivy and her men in the future, but enjoyed the end of the story as well!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great and I'll definitely be looking for any sequels
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved it so much I'm adding it to my cart to buy paperback

This one is long, full of twists, suspense and spice. The start is slow but about halfway through it picks up and 3/4 of the way it goes into full swing.

There are typos throughout e.g. Sight being used instead of site, stuff like that but it's easily ignored and doesn't pull from the story too much.

Would have liked to see some more scenes between Fox and the guys. Them bonding a little plus there's hints throught (excluding that exploring spin the bottle scene) that there may be an intimate relationship between them to come but we don't really get more than a few hints.
