Raise Hell – Hell Hounds Harem: Lucifer’s Trilogy (Book 1) – Briana Michaels

What a way to give us the Devil’s backstory!!!

If you are a fan of the Hell Hound Series by this author, you will be a fan of Lucifer. That is a given. In this portrayal, Lucifer is not the average incarnation of what you might expect when encountering the characteristics of this epic personality. He is in fact – quite the opposite.

We begin our final journey in the story arc, strangely enough – at the beginning. ALL the way back to the beginning when the Angels were first created and the realms (including the human one – Earth) were new.

In chapter one, we are introduced to Eve, a lone female Angel who is on a mission that even she seems unaware of at first. There are several sects of Divinity where the Angels train to protect the realms and keep them pure. Perfect if you will.

As Eve, a Purity Sect Angel travels towards the Protection Sect (a Warrior Sect under the leadership of the Angel Michael) under the premise of training with them for her own self defence, she first encounters Constantine, a Warrior and Scribe from the Protection Sect. Her subsequent arrival and meeting with Michael begin the trials and tribulations that Eve must endure upon this road fraught with danger, loneliness and heartbreak until we reach the crescendo in the final chapters of the third book.

Our main players here are of course Eve, our FMC. We have Constantine, Gabriel, Uriel and finally Lucifer who complete the Harem in this trilogy.

There are secondary characters who play vital parts in this book. And of course, the author has managed to incorporate the more well-known biblical/historical characters associated with the creation story and furnished the tale with her own brand of epic!

You will not be disappointed once you read this book. You will in fact, race to start book two, which thankfully the author has released along with book three all on the same date.

A fabulous, emotional beginning to what will become a story so heartbreakingly told that you will ugly cry.

Usual warnings for adult sex scenes and RH themes make this an 18+ read. I gave it five stars!

I have to be honest. I was not interested in reading the story of Uriel, Gabriel, and Constantine. Especially when I read that it was their history, I just really wanted to find out about what was going to happen. Plus the book is about Eve, but there is no Eve in the "current time". So that would probably mean something bad happened to the poor girl.
But I read the book anyway, and I loved it. You learn a lot more about why things happened in the previous books, especially things that Michael did (like the signs of Uriel). And Lucifer, that poor guy, had a really rough start at 'life'.
Where I liked Uriel the least in the previous books, I now like him the best. I still don't really understand Gabriel, and Constantine is still very quiet.
I dont really understand what happened in the last chapter, but I think that was done intentionally. Luckily the next book is already out, so no waiting!

5 beautiful, howling stars!

Finallllllyyyy, we are in the first book of Lucifers trilogy. This series is made up of three reverse harem trilogies that MUST be read in order. This is the final trilogy of the series.

Let me start by saying that I have loved both hell hound packs we’ve read about so far, but they have nothing on this pack. This book has blew all the others out of the water and I didn’t even think that was possible because of how much I loved the others.

Quick recap: books 1-3 are about hell hound Sara and her pack, and books 4-6 are about Tilly and her pack. They are hell hounds for Lucifer and there is an evil person in the shadows wreaking havoc throughout both trilogies. Lucifers trilogy is where we are finally going to get our answers and have the big show down.

This book starts out in the beginning of times... showing exactly how Lucifer became Lucifer. It has showed us basically how the world came to be. We’ve met his pack and the love of his life. And then we watched him lose it all and I want to cry my eyes out for all of them. Briana has put her own amazing twists on “religion” and man does it make for an interesting story. Character development is top notch, which I expected nothing less from her. The amount of love, self sacrifice and loyalty she puts into her characters is truly unforgettable. The end of the book we are fast forwarded to present time and the next book will pick up from there. This series will forever be a favorite of mine and I’m so sad to be getting closer to the end. Please do yourself a favor and read this series. Off to the next book I go ✌🏻

Remember that scene in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy where a missile turns into a sperm whale and discovers the world in pure innocence and naivety and wonder before briefly hitting the ground and being completely destroyed? Imagine that scene being unfunny, with a jaded character, and that one paragraph is actually 422 pages, and getting tortured and raped on the way down. That is this book.
I tried so hard to finish this. I forced myself through 363 pages, but I just can't do it anymore.
I have had a great time reading the other books in this series, and I really wanted Lucifer’s story. But this book is the one that will be my last. It is so slow, and just sadistically brutal for the sake of it. It could just be me, but it was not enjoyable to read about all these angels being tortured for zero reason. It was pointless. And it’s set in the past, so it was all about angels ‘discovering’ things and making new words up to complete their world that already exist, and it was like reading about toddlers who happened to murder and be tortured. Not a good time. I kept waiting for it to pick up and have a point, but it just didn’t. Which was sad, because I loved Lucifer and really wanted his story. But this is so different from the rest of the series, and it just bored me to no end.

DNF @ 60%

This is a shame. I adored the prior two series, but this setting just is so difficult for me to read. I tried, but there is so, so much and my interest waned. I love Lucifer, was growing to love the other characters, but... idk it probably didn't help that I also know they are going to not be happy for millennia. I continued to feel more and more sad about Lucifer's circumstance and couldnt understand how his "brothers" could abandon him for so long.

Really, this is all on me. The writing is still good and the story is still super interesting. And to come up with all of this before time even starts setting??? Truly amazing.

I don't love this as much as I thought I might. I don't think I'll read the remainder of the books. While I enjoy a prequel, this ought to be a separate series from the other HH.

A story of the beginning

So I knew this first book of the third trilogy would focus on Lucifer and his angel brothers, what I didn’t know was that we would get the story of the beginning. And when I say beginning, I mean the start of souls, lust, emotions, Hell, Heaven, religion, all of it. We see how Lucifer came to be the Lucifer we knew from the 6 previous books. It’s the story of creation with its own twist to allow the author’s story and plot to progress. I was honestly a little confused in the first chapter or 2 of the book because I thought it would be taking place in modern times. Like I said, I didn’t expect the creation story so it threw me off. Even though I was slightly confused, I was addicted to the story and the characters within the first couple pages.

I am always blown away with this author’s writing talent. She is able to craft incredibly captivating stories that is full of emotions, complex details, and unsuspecting twists with a touch of mystery and ambiguity. Nothing felt rushed, inconsistent, or shallow in this book. Each character was a complex and intriguing one who I felt some degree of a connection with as the reader. Their intentions, virtues, and beliefs all made my attachment with them even better since I could easily understand their feelings.

I am so excited to finally read Lucifer’s story since I’ve had a soft spot for him in every book in this series. I highly recommend other readers to dive headfirst into this complex and enthralling world!!

It's incredibly difficult to rate a book that does not fit in the series.

Technically, main group is characters i already knew.Lucifer, Gabriel, Uriel and Constantine. This is the story of origin, the story of beginning, the formation of Hell and Lucifers place in it, the explanation of his ties to his brothers, the reasoning behind everything that happened in previous 6 books. However, it is so drastically different than other books in this series, I found it hard to read and, to be honest, even care.
And I hated the RH side in this book. When creating a group for RH , one have to be careful on how to form connections in the group, to allow the RH situation to happen naturally. Here, everything felt forced , in the sexual sense, and acceptance of polyamory was cringily handled.
Top that with me really disliking Eve and absolutely hating the creation part of the story. The way author handled the discovery of Angels of desire, lust and differences between male and female bodies, was uncomfortable at best.
So, should I rate this book lower than its predecessors? I don't know. It is not mutch worse than other books, but it stands out like a sore eye. It is not particularly bad, but is not good either.
I regret reading it.

I was really surprised how much I liked this. The summary drew me in because anything to do with Hades/Lucifer is my jam....like, I'm obsessed with stories to do with my Dark Prince. And then it's a reverse harem, umm...yes, please. I love all of the men in this, the smexy scenes (A+), everything is so good. If you're looking for a good, smutty, easy read, this is the book to read. I'm definitely continuing with this series. I'm already on Book 3, The Devil's Darling (love this title!), and it still has me hooked. And the smut in Book 3...there's one scene, you'll know when you reach it, that's just *chef's kiss*. Love, love this series!

The book is a nice start of the final trilogy in this series. It’s an interesting origin story for Lucifer, Gabriel, Uriel, Constantine and Michael. I’m glad we finally meet the woman/angel that has always had Lucifer’s heart. The author does a fabulous job describing and making the reader feel the harm and trauma that Lucifer and other’s suffer. The reason that this isn’t a five star read for me is that it just dragged in certain places. I’m sure it’s really hard to write both an origin story for such an epic character AND have the book serve as the jumping point for a trilogy within an on going series. Things just got a little dull for me at times.

This book is absolutely a must read if you’ve read the previous 6 books in the series and is a great addition as we finally get to learn about and enjoy Lucifer!

OMF Lucifer

Just...I can’t even begin! Just start at book 1 in the Hell Hounds series. You must start from the beginning to truly understand the master craft that has gone into asking this freaking series (I want to cuss but the Zon does not approve and I must tell you all!!!). There are separate sets of trilogies, this is the third and they are all released now. It’s en entirely new theological mythology that is fully immersive and amazing and gives women and the devil their due

All hail Lucifer

I dont know how, however I think this is my favourite book so far of the series. I absolutely adores all of the ones prior yet this one is next level. We had all wondered about Lucifer and his brothers. Reading what this world was like before the Angels fell is something I didn't know I needed, yet am so incredibly glad Briana gave to us. *fans self* by far one of the sexiest additions. Can't wait to keep on free falling into this world.

Lucifer's story is just as engaging, detailed, and sweet as the previous three harem's have been, with a lot more heat!

The reader finds out why Lucy is the way he is, how the world and its parts came into being, and how all the angels came into play. Briana does a great job tying up all the loose ends into a complete story.

This entire series has fast become one of my favorites, and the characters will stick with me for a long time!

Perfect way to start the Devil’s Story

First book of the third installment of “Hell Hound Harem.” This book explains so much left unsaid in the previous books. It beautifully orchestrates the Devil’s back story. It is wonderfully written and smoothly ties all the books together. Plus this pack is HOT, like holy HELL Hot. 🔥🔥 I can’t wait to read what is next for Lucifer and his pack.

Refreshing

After 6 books you kinda wondered what was Lucy's story, how did he become the devil, how did those hounds show up, and who will be his pack?

Book 7 will give you a lot of answers, the ending will give you 5000 more. It's his origin story, and you will feel everything for dear old Lucy. And I'm real happy to have the next 2 books lined up. Loving this last Trilogy in this world!

I’m really on the fence on this one. I was really looking forward to hear Lucifer’s story and it was also shocking to hear about the other angels. But the biggest problem I have with this and the next 2 books is the big problem with miscommunication. I feel that their problem would all just be fixed if they just discussed and forgive, then move on. But the fact that they just keep arguing in circles is what made it real hard to connect with the book.

So many questions!

I loved and hated this story. To finally get the backstory on Lucifer and how he ended up as the guardian of hell but such torment to go through to end up with his brothers. I wanted to jump in the book and go after Michael! And Eve...what is going in with that?

Pure Perfection

How can this series possibly get more amazing? Time and time again this author surprises me with her elaborate and well written trilogies that I absolutely cannot put down. Every detail is so well thought out that I find myself reading each line with my breath held, unsure what is going to happen next. Seriously some of the best romance I have read.

Best surprise ever!

I was curious as to whose story to expect while moving on...great surprise, but definitely not expected. Since I don’t read the descriptions between books in a series I am reading, I tend to be surprised a bit more frequently than most. Amazing take on this. Definitely continue on with this series!

Back in time

In the first two trilogies we get glimpses of Lucifer that intrigued and drew me in. Seeing where his story began was really interesting.
I’ll admit that I’m not one for great time leaps, so reading this after knowing what Lucy’s up to in the ‘present day’ was difficult at times as I just wanted to catch up with what was happening when we left book 6.

Endless Torment and Pleasure

Brianna Michaels uncovers the mystery of the beginning of time, as she courageously takes on the controversial topic of Lucifer and Eve. She brilliantly challenges every religious teaching of divinity's story, as she begins her final trilogy of her Hell Hound Harem Series. A heartbreaking story of love discovered and lost.

This one was painful

So creation stories and angels aren't usually my jam but it was really nice to see the beginning. It's an interesting take on Adam and Eve and ha Michael I kept wondering where he was in this series. I'm on to the next book and I really can't wait for this reunion!

From Sara, to Tilly, and now Lucifer books. These stories are one rollercoaster ride of major emotions that just get deeper! This first book in the Lucifer trilogy is where it all began and how Lucifer became the man of Hell. I'm so ready for the next 2 books in this 3rd trilogy.
