In the morning
all things shall be restored.
At last the flower that has withered on the vine a trillion times and fallen before her time
shall open in her fullness, showered
by a thousand gentle rains,
comforted by the strong arms of a second sun.
The lingering scent of a hundred lifetimes will rise up and fill us with joy. Satisfied, we will be complete, and stand,
after all that has passed
between us, wholly pure, without need or want.
In the morning,
all things shall be restored.

In the world of dreams where there is always
a way around and beyond the last words,
a way through the long and lingering loneliness that would turn me to stone,
Your words fall into me like water
to smooth the rough places and quench this thirst I’ve lived with for so long. You flow to me, in me and through me.
Rippling river of hope that you are,
you search out all the pockets of promise within me, then fill me with some elixir of sparkling second chance. I drink.
