Parkdale #3

Cast from the Shadows

Rate this book

Cast from the Shadows is a standalone novel within the Parkdale Series.

Free from his father’s shadow, Landon has decided to hit the open road. What happens when a pretty girl hops in the car and invites herself along?

Dropping out of college and defying my father’s wishes should have been the most pivotal moment in my life.

Deciding to take a cross-country road trip in a classic Mustang should have been a dream come true.

But none of that mattered when a hauntingly beautiful girl hopped into my car and demanded to be taken away from her small-town life.

She became my kryptonite.

I should have kept driving. The two of us were too much alike— beaten down and broken by the world around us.

Everything seemed as if we were headed for destiny…

… until we took a wrong turn and headed toward disaster instead.

If you like emotional, heart wrenching, small town love stories, you’ll love this road trip romance novel from Danielle Keil!

Such a beautiful story!

Landon's future is already all mapped out, he hates it and puts a stop to it. He drops out of West Point, buys and old car and goes on a road trip. He doesn't even know what he wants anymore and he hopes to change that.

Whitney's living in a small town and she keeps comming back to her nobody of a boyfriend. She's full of live and joy, and she wants out of there.

She hops into a car and refuses to leave. And this is how Landon's and Whitney's journey begin. In the hopes of finding themselves, they find each other.

I loved them both. This was intoxicating!

Cast from the shadows was my first read by Danielle Keil and it wouldn't be my last book by her!

She sucked me right into Landon's and Whitney's world. I rarely couldn't put the book down, only when I had to. So to say, it really was a pageturner for me and loved every second out of this book.

The book will take you on the road with Shelby, the Shelby GT500, Landon, Whitney and Bob, the bird of paradise. Literally the road, after Whitney put herself on the passenger seat to flee the small town where she is living at, together with Landon who went of a trip to cleanse his mind and finding out what he really wants.

They clicked immediately. Not in a lovers way at first, this came later. They clicked in a deeper way. They made sense in every way and I loved watching them.
I loved watching Whitney catching Landon.
I loved Landon finding his own inner freedom.
I loved how they took care of each other.
I loved to watch their trio of self discovery.

If you are in need of a book that will put a smile on your face, this book is definitely yours.
If you are in need of a book that will make you happy, this one is it for you.
Just read the book. 😁

I kindly received an ARC for an honest review.

Book 3 in the Parkdale series and the first that I have read from this series and author. I really enjoyed the story. Whitney and Landon were a great couple. Even though they were opposites, they were able to balance each other out and bring out the best in each of them. They had such good chemistry between them. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.

Cast from the Shadows was such a great escape to an open road adventure. Our hero is set on finding himself and our heroine jumps in the car with him. They find they are better together in this heartfelt coming of age romance.

Landon has my heart with the sweet gentleman who is always there to protect the girl he likes. I loved him so much. Even as he struggled through his own issues, he was there for Whitney through hers.

And Whitney compliments Landon so much! They work together even when they don't realize they are.

This was just the read I needed: a sweet, loveable escape with just enough drama to keep me engaged. Parkdale book #3, Cast from the Shadows, might be the best in the series!

I'm not a reviewer that rehashes the plot, if you're reading the reviews you know what the story is about. I will tell you what I liked (or didn't) about the story. This is a great read with well developed characters and good pacing, no lagging or rushing in the telling of the tale. The story unfolds in a way that will keep you turning pages well into the night, playing the one more chapter game. The dialog is engaging and the characters are strong. I loved learning little bits and pieces about them as we went along. This book hit all the emotional marks for me, have a tissue ready as there may be a couple tears especially at the end. I will definitely be adding the rest of Danielle Keil's books to my library.

Landon.... Who would have thought he would be on an epic road trip with a total stranger? He starts without really knowing what he wants and meets the confident, beautiful girl who changes his whole world. Their road trip adventures together are so fun and we learn so much about him and Whitney - the hitchhiker turned love of a lifetime. What happens with the road trip is over? Read this to find out!! This just might be my favorite Parkdale Series book so far!!

Oh Landon. You snuck up on me in the best way. I liked you in the first two books but didn't know much about you. Now? Oh man.

This is everything you could ask for in a NA romance. There's an epic road trip with two characters who need each other but don't realize how much or why... yet. There's some great internal drama, family politics, a bookstore and an amazing car. What more could you want?!

For real, cruise with Whitney and Landon - you won't regret it. This book hits right in the feels.

It was fun, emotional, deep and just plain amazing!! 10 stars from me!!

Best roadtrip EVER!!!

I love that Landon and Whitney both need the roadtrip to find them self but that even tho they where kinda opposites they were still able to find what they need in one another. What she does for him when she first get him to open up mean alot more than any grand gesture because to me it's the small things that count things that people don't see or care to explore. If you want to know what im talking about read the story it wont disappointed.

I LOVED everything about this book! Landon & Whitney’s pull was so magnetic, the compassion they have, the chances they take, and even their heartbreak. This book was raw and emotional, passionate and real. I highly recommend this story (#3 in the Parkdale series), this Series, and honestly, all of this author's work, because every story sucks you in. Each series/story highlights the importance of strong friendships as well as strong romantic relationships, and I LOVE that particular theme!! I was given an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In the books before this, Landon was this nice guy but very stiff and definitely not passionate. It was so great to see Whitney break him out of his shell so we could see his gooey sweet insides! They're total opposites but they balance each other out so well! There's angst and sweetness. Some very funny moments and some things that make you think. This was an excellent book with a really sweet ending!

This book was definitely my favorite one in the series not only because it seemed like less of a "typical high school romance," but also because it was real, raw, and emotional, and I could relate to these characters more so than others. I would definitely recommend this book, but only if you've finished reading the previous two. :)

beautiful lovely book

This genre is not my usual type of read but I’m glad I tried this book. I enjoyed it so much more than I expected. I fell in love with the characters and the simple storyline about that time in our lives when we are figuring out who we are as adults and what we want to do. A love story that touched me deeply as well. It’s one of those books that will stick with me for a long time.

This was one of the sweetest book I’ve read in a long time. It gave me the feels just wondering if Landon and Whitney would find themselves and discover what they are to each other on their journey but they found so much more. It’s amazing what one discovers when they take a chance on that one person or opportunity.

The third book in the Parkdale series has us getting to know Landon better and taking an epic summer road trip with him. Along the way we get to meet Whitney, who I think if you can't identify with Landon, you will likely see glimpses of yourself in Whitney. As you wrap yourself up in this story you will see some of the characters from the previous books, like Peyton and meet some new ones like Bart. This is for sure a next step book IMHO... our friends are out of High School, and growing up.

I love this book so much, it´s so good that you can feel all the emotions the characters are feeling.
The chemistry of the main characters is there since the first time they met and they´re the perfect couple, they were made for each other. Whitney just came to Landon´s life from nowhere and they changed each other lives since the beginning and help each other realice what happiness really means to them.
I love Landon, I fell in love with him in the first chapter, he´s so sweet and such an amazing guy. I think I found my next book boyfriend.
I also love Whitney, she´s been thru a lot and she keeps fighting to get what she wants and she´s so happy and full of life when she´s with Landon in the road trip that I kept smiling everytime she smiled or laughed.

This book made me love him, broke my heart in a million pieces and then made me love him even more. I can´t wait for everyone to read it, you won´t regret it!

Oh my. Why aren't you reading this series yet? I was super lucky to get to preview this one, and just... my heart.

Landon and Whitney are two broken pieces that fit together perfectly. They've got their own problems to work out, and some self-discovery to do - why not do that on a road trip in a Shelby?

Just love this author and all her words. She never pulls an emotional punch! This book has all the feels. You want to read it and all the others she writes, I swear.
