I was the good girl, the one every parent dreamed their daughter would grow up to be... until I met him.
All it took was for a stranger to show up to a community playground project that my parent’s nonprofit had organized.
He wasn’t like any other man I’d come across. Tall and lean, strong muscles with tattoos and a killer smile distracted me the entire morning.

Little did I know when he told me he worked on the road, that really meant,

"I’m a drummer in the most popular rock band on the music charts."

When my best friend with an anger problem pushed me out of my comfort zone, I found myself standing awkwardly at his concert, still in disbelief that the drummer on the stage was the same good citizen I’d built a playground with from scratch.

My parents always told me to stay away from musicians and guys with tattoos, believing I’d start the perfect life with a white picket fence and their family friend’s all-too-proper son.

But I don’t know if I can resist the desire to be bad with a rock star.

Even if it’s just for one night.

An exciting start to the Addicts Unite Rock Star Series. I am not an avid reader of the genre, but I have to say Pound It was a great read. Focusing more on the characters and their stories I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Looks like I will be heading to New York to see what happens next.

If you a looking for a short read that is definitely well worth the read, I recommend you pick up Pound It and get started.

Short cliffhanger story. I love the characters but due to the shortness there is not much to connect to their characters. We do find out at the end that each band member is an addict (but of what?)

So automatic take star for Cliffy and one off for it being so short. Otherwise I liked.

Pound It, by Brooke Page, is a delectable take on the rock star trope. It's not so much a story of life on the road or onstage, but of the person behind the rocker facade. Cassidy is a "good girl," working for her parents' nonprofit organization, Big Dreams, and is cleaning up a playground, spreading mulch around the merry-go-round. Her best friend, Steph, is doing court-ordered community service, ordered after having charges pressed against ther for her part in a bar fight. She's a hothead, for sure, and it's understandable, what with the dysfunctional family she has. But, no matter what, Steph is Cass's biggest supporter. After Steph leaves "to take care of other things," Cassidy is left alone to finish the job. Almost alone. Ryan, the boy she's known forever, is still there, but she's not interested in him as more than a friend. She's not interested in having any boyfriend because she doesn't trust them when it comes to love. As she's hauling bags of wood chips, she hears a voice behind her, giving her suggestions how to make the job easier. Here's this gorgeous man, with a killer smile and kind voice, asking if he can help. How often does that happen? What she doesn't know is that he's the drummer for the band, Addicts Unite, making an appearance tonight in St. Louis. He tries to help out in communities wherever the tour takes him and he has enjoyed spending time with Steph. He doesn't want to say goodbye yet, and offers her tickets to a concert. Steph doesn't really care for the contemporary music that her friends do, but she says she'll consider it. Knowing he "works for the band," she figures what can go wrong by seeing him after the concert. She takes Steph, who is beyond excited to get to meet the band. Cassidy is shocked to see that Gunner doesn't "work for the band," he's the drummer! What follows is a sweet, romantic story that has Cassidy pushing her boundaries because of what she feels for Gunner and hopes that he feels for her. You can't help but fall just a little in love with Gunner and his gentlemanly, loving ways. The band has to hit the road early the next morning but Gunner wants more time with her. He calls to invite her to come to New York and it doesn't take too long for her to accept. Their story continues....well-placed cliffhanger! Ms. Page creates a rock star fantasy that is perfectly executed and paced. You can't help but fall in love with both Gunner and Cassidy and hope they find their HEA.

Going outside of her comfort zone.  He's not your typical Rock Star.

Cassidy's life is one of respecting her parents and never doing anything to disappoint them, following a religious upbringing, being involved in her parents' nonprofit organization that did work for the community and just being an all around good girl.
Gunner is the drummer for a very popular rock band and didn't make all the right decisions growing up though he's working towards doing good.  He donates his help within communities that the band is making an appearance for a concert.
At 24 years of age no relationships for her, just friendships.  Ryan she grew up with and they are good friends but he's dealing with some stronger feelings for Cassidy.  Her best friend and roommate, Steph, is a handful for Cassidy.  Her early home life with her parents wasn't good.  Abusive father so she has a very short fuse and it has gotten her in trouble with the law.  On one of Gunner's tour trip, he finds the park where Cassidy is setting up a community park and helps her out.  With this meeting, they both feel an attraction.  Gunner treats her with respect and even though he's a musician and has tattoos she feels something toward him.
Gunner wants to see her again so he invites her to his concert.  That is where things start for them.  Gunner's character in the book makes you like him a lot.  He's not the typical rock star.  The other members are your typical musicians and they tease him about everything he told them about Cassidy.  He is very taken with her.
Even though it's a short read and the ending leaves the reader at a great spot of the story, it leaves you wanting more.  Brooke Page did a wonderful job in writing this book.  Definitely recommend this book and the books to come in this series.

I am volunteering to leave an honest review for a courtesy copy of this book from the author.

A good girl and a rock star. A hidden identity and someone who is too open. It’s funny how two VERY different people can come together and just connect.

Cassidy Brown was an overall good girl. She wasn’t a huge partier. She worked and volunteered her time to help make other’s lives better. She was going to change the world one day and normally she was really on top of her game. Her biggest problem most of the time is that she is just too trusting.

Gunner was a drummer, he had a past, he had many things he was trying to do, falling in love, well that wasn’t in the plan. So when he goes to volunteer and meets a girl, all bets are off. Especially when there is just a thing. A connection that he hoped could be based on the who he was now, the real him, not the rock star or his past.

Gunner and Cassidy meet, and end up in bed together within 24 hours, but will those hours be all they have? Or will there be more for these two?

This was honestly a Rock and Roll your socks off story. The problem was it was just a bite. The good news is that this story is so well written you fall in love with the characters but the Ms. Page leaves you wanting more so much more… Be prepared to be enjoying and then get knocked off before you get knocked out. As the end isn’t one you will see coming. (reason for the ranking is pretty basically not knowing this would continue (which I need it to) without warning.)

Ok so I love the name Gunner and I knew i was going to love this book right from the very beginning.
This is a quickie and I read it in one day. Gunner is a drummer in a band and Cassidy is the sweet innocent girl
Who is a do-hooded and you would never imagine her hanging out with a drummer.
Cassidy met Gunner while her and her team were building a playground. Gunner turned up and asked if he could help. He wasn’t able to sign up and be completely vetted because he works on the road a lot so he just looks up local charities doing these types of things.
I absolutely loved this book and these characters. Steph really was a bit much but there’s always someone in these books who gets that role. I cannot wait to see what the next book brings. I love Gunner and cannot get over how different he is from his fellow band mates....or maybe he isn’t??

I have been in a super long reading slump and this book just killed it!

I loved everything about it. The story revolves around Cassidy, the daughter of religious parents with strict views and a chance encounter with a man called Gunner. Gunner comes off as a do-gooder who was looking to help serve the community with helping Cassidy lay mulch for a park they recently built. The chemistry between the two was immediate. Cassidy’s emotions and debate between doing what she wants and the effects of her actions on others is very well written and relatable. How many times do you just want to say “screw it” and have a fun night! Cassidy did it, and now I’m awaiting the repercussions.

The story ends on a cliff, with their story to be continued. I really enjoyed this story, with crazy Steph and all!

5+ Stars for this HOT rockstar romance!

I loved how Cassidy was just a regular girl (not a groupie) and had no clue that Gunner was the drummer in a rock band ... she didn't even like that kind of music. Gunner ... WOW ... rockstars are my favorite and Gunner is a hunk with a heart. There is a whole back story on the band Addicts Unite that we don't know and I sure hope we find out in upcoming books. And Gunner and Cassidy's story is no where near finished! I highly recommend this book ... especially if you like rockstars.

Brooke ... really your gonna make us wait till September to find out what happens! That's just cruel ... lol!

Cassidy is your average girl next door... the good girl, helping others, pleasing her parents. Then Gunner, drummer for Addicts Unite, comes to volunteer at one of her events. He is immediately taken with her, and she him, but she has no idea who he is. When he invites her and a friend to the concert that night, she has no idea what she's getting herself in for... but with the help of a friend, she takes a chance... will they have just one night together, or the chance for more? Looking forward to reading more of Cassidy and Gunner's story.

I enjoyed this start of a new series. The romance storyline has two great main characters. Our heroine is a girl next door type raised by strict, religious parents, while our hero is a rockstar who is becoming jaded with his lifestyle. They meet, feel the attraction, but she does not recognize him as a star. There is chemistry, steam, and respect. This is a very good lead in to what promises to be a very good series. I liked this book. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Read it in a few hours. Gunner is a drummer in a band. Cassidy is the sweet innocent girl. I loved how Cassidy was just a regular girl (not a groupie) and had no clue that Gunner was the drummer in a rock band. Cassidy met Gunner while her and her team were building a playground. Gunner volunteered to help them out. That is how he meet Cassidy. Cassidy is an sheltered girl. Cassidy's roommate Stephanie really is crazy with men on her mind. Can't wait for Pound It Again.

Not for me

Story telling is good but storyline was a disappointment. Im guessing it’s a book for youngsters but characters and scenarios were immature plus it’s part of a series and you need to buy into the rest. I get the sex, drugs and rock and roll but it just fell flat and characters were not engaging or likeable.

Seems like his a kind of different musician, but after his actions i do not think he is! If i was Cassidy i would be very careful with this drummer boy Gunner! Would of loved it to be a full novel instead of ending where it did... this puts me off big time in reading further novels. Loved her crazy mate! The plot is a good one, but not so sure about the love interest.

Pound It is book 1 in the Addicts Unite Rock Star Series written by the awesome author Brooke Page. This is Cassidy and Gunner's story and a cool start to the series. Love that this is not your typical rock star plus groupie or fan story. The chemistry between the good girl and the drummer is off the chart. Although it ends in a cliffhanger it is a must read for any fan of a good rock star romance. Can't wait for more on this couple! I am volunteering leaving an honest review in exchange of copy of this book from the author.

Pound It: Book One: Addicts Unite Rock Star Series is a romance trope with a rockstar hero with a bit of a instalove aspect. Not your "Typical" rockstar Gunner shows a liking to "Good Girl Cassidy. A novella, sets the stage for the next books in the series. It does have a small cliffhanger. Sweet N Romantic a entertaining afternoon read

Okay Read!

The book was okay. Wasn't the greatest, basically, I fell asleep during my listening and missed a majority of the book. Possibly a re-read sometime down the line.

He's a playboy rock star (the drummer) with a dark past. She's the good girl who follows the rules & doesn't want to disappoint her parents. When the two meet during a playground build... He is immediately taken with her, and she with him, but she has no idea who he is. He invites her to a show that night... she decides to take a chance (try something new).

Will they have just one night together, or the chance for more?

Frustratingly it is the beginning of a series but the story was actually quite sweet, even though the sex was graphic and the cover and title explicit.
Four stars only, due to the grammatical errors. Plus she did use the word conscious in stead of conscience again. I have found this error in at least three of Page’s books. Grrr

The first book in a new series. It features Cassidy and Guner. I liked Cassidy, she was a very likeable characters and someone who is easy to relate too. She is a good person who knows who she is, but like a lot of us, she has people around her who expect things of her.

Gunner loves music, but he is also a bit done with the whole fake world around him.

Cassidy takes a huge step by going out of her comfort zone. Will it be a mistake or the right way forward?

The rest of the series will hopefully reveal it all.

Great introduction the what seems to be a great series, I can't wait to read more on Gunner and Cassidy's adventures.
I love where this book left off and it has me intrigued to see what will happen, I get the feeling that this won't be your typical Rockstar romance and I am extremely excited about that. Brooke Page has a way of making you THINK you know what is going to happen, then she wallops ya a good one and you are on this amazing ride that you don't want to get off.

Brook Page is a new author to me, and I'm glad I took the chance to read her story. I'm looking forward to reading Pound It Again to find out what's going to happen between Gunner and Casssidy.
