Kao has always wanted to dance to the beat of his own drum. Although he was successful with the band, he opted to leave his home country in search of superstardom. You can’t which is why Kao has spent most of his adult life alone.

Brody is done being a cop, so he took a high paying gig at a security agency. Now instead of chasing criminals, he keeps fanboys and girls away from the world’s biggest stars. Without the pressure of his life being on the line, he could easily lose concentration. Especially when the client is someone who pushes all of his buttons.

A threat has been made against Kao and he needs a bodyguard. Brody is hired for a long term stint that takes him abroad. This is plenty of time for the two men to get close, but will their actions prove to be fatal for Kao?

Falling in love could be a nail in Kao’s coffin.

Jerks Like Us features a KPOP star with weird kinks and a bodyguard who tries to save him from himself. This story includes an opposites attract, slight age gap, and hot romance with a swoony happy ever after ending.

Kao and Brody

A lovable story with a highly emotional, stubborn somewhat immature, and impulsive, headstrong main character who had his heart on his sleeve and spoiled af. Waw adorable.
Kao left a popular Kpop band to start solo, tired of all the restrictions, and never a moment alone. Moving away to Los Angeles will give all the changes he needs.
After some disturbing threats, his manager and his parents want him to have a bodyguard. Here is where Brody steps into this story.

There is a spark between them and Kao horny af wants immediately more with Brody. No way Brody will give in.
He professional needs to focus and takes the threats seriously, in contrast to Kao.
Whatever Kao tries Brody refuses to take it a step further. But poor Brody how much can he handle.

I watch a lot of BTS and they are always happy peppy, I couldn’t help but see Kao like they are.
Even with the threats, for me, it stayed a lighthearted story. Entertainingly written, steady paced with a nice plot.

The Bodyguard versus the pop star, sounds cliche right? It was so much more than two opposites attract. Breaking free of the mold society places and feeling lost; like there’s no one to turn to or talk to is not a place for anyone to be. Whether it’s your bodyguard, friend or just a stranger on a bench open up the lines of communication because you never know when it can change a life. I love this series and I love that the author highlights this issue.

The love story is the focus. The danger, mystery, and kidnapping, serve to ramp things up. You will fall in love with this book!
Kao left is Kpop band to launch a solo career. But someone is out to stop him. The threat is real. Except the new bodyguard is the stuff wet dreams are made of. And Kao wants him. Brody is good at his job. Protecting Kao should have been routine. But the attraction between them is as intense as it is inevitable.
Can they adjust to their new normal while still keeping Kao safe? Yes, the sex is hot. The threat will be neutralized. HEA is assured. You need to get this book!

Jerks Like Us is book 3 in the Like Us series and can be enjoyed as a standalone. Kao has left to start making his own music and some people don't like that. Brody is hired has Kao's bodyguard when things get dangerousfor Kao. With all that's going on Kao and Brody become very close. Though Kao just wants to live his life he has to learn to listen to Brody for his own safety, something Kao isn't use to doing, he's use to calling all the shots. This is a well written enjoyable book. Another hit from this amazing author.

Sometimes having your own way, is not the best way. Kao was a rising KPOP star sacrificing a personal, social life for stardom. Brody suffering from cop burnout takes a security job. He is assigned to Kao who has started receiving threats. This is a challenge for Kao because he likes to live on his own terms. He presents an absolute security safety challenge to Brody. Can Brody stay ahead of the threat? Will Kao grow up and take his safety seriously? Nice story. Exciting exposure to industry. Excellent descriptions. Jerks Like Us took me straight into the highs and lows of the world of a former KPop superstar. The story is fast-paced and with plenty of action to keep this thriller-loving reader happy. I adore bodyguard stories and this was certainly a good one with enough tension to keep me reading to the end. I loved the tension between Kao and Brody too, as both feel their way through unfamiliar cultures and their growing attraction to each other. Well worth a read.

Kao had a successful career in a band in his home country of Korea but decides to leave both and come to the United States to start a solo career. Someone doesn't want that to happen and will do anything to stop him. His manager goes to Mack Security to hire a bodyguard. Brody is sent to protect Kao. They are attracted to each other from the start. Brody tries to keep it professional but Kao wants Brody. I enjoyed this book.

I really enjoyed this but not quite as much as the previous two books in this series. It was a slow build up at first but then became much more interesting, then dangerous and exciting. Kao, an ex-Kpop artist, now with a solo career in America, is getting death threats. Body, a bodyguard, has been hired to watch over him. Slim, almost effeminate Kao and huge muscular Brody, what do you think will happen? I like this authors style, gives us good story with vibrant plots.

This talented author has taken the same old same old, stale, staid, boring, and mundane rockstar/bodyguard, forbidden, and forced proximity storylines and skillfully crafted a fantastic, smoking hot, amazing, grab-you-by-the-feels, poignant, fascinating, incredible, interesting, original, totally awesome, and fresh story that had me hooked from beginning to end.
