Yu Yaoyao was a snake spirit who died by lightning and as a result, transmigrated to a novel she had read in her past life. This third-rate actress had the same name as her, but then she remembered she was only a pitiful cannon fodder in the novel she had chanced to read.
This obscure actress’s life was riddled with scandals, and as a result, her diamond husband left her. She then hit the rock bottom of her career and ultimately became paralyzed by an accident. Not to mention, she had neglected her child, leading him to an early death.
Graced with a new life, Yu Yaoyao is determined to steer her path away from the plot’s death flags. She’ll be the best wife, the most loving mother and she’ll rise to the top of the entertainment industry!
Rated 3.5. A very repetitive family drama that is easy to predict the outcome of the subplots as well as the main storyline. The characters are predictable with the arrogant CEO husband and the adorable genius sensible child who fights for his mother’s affection against his father.
The female protagonist lives a charmed life with no major failures or hardships after transforming into a human from a snake spirit. She is overpowered and achieves greatness in all her acting projects, winning major awards while frustrating all her haters. So, there is little tension in the story.
The face slapping of her enemies are sweet and well deserved. This adds to the humor found throughout the novel. Worth reading once for the family humor.
It was hilarious story. From the female lead to the children to the fans and even directors. Poor ml has to ensure everything went smoothly. I also love that there are a few bonus chapters that tells stories about other supporting characters. Although it doesn’t really show the ending as it’s like end in the middle but the readers can imagine what will happen next. Despite the humour and hilariously story, we do learn something. The usual good bad ending for the good bad people aside, we also learn that it is not to late to learn something new. And yes. When there is a will, there is a way.
This was a fun story. If you can't handle a bit of absurdity, it probably isn't for you. (I still don't know how a zoo didn't notice a snake that lived for 200 years or how a snake managed to read novels and watch K-dramas in a zoo). The storyline is mostly light and fluffy with some of the typical Ceo/Actress tropes with a few twists on Yu Yaoyao's relationship with food.
I couldn't stop laughing. I started this book maybe a year or two ago but the updates were slow. I noticed it again a few days ago and gobbled it up. The comedy and romance are well-balanced. A nice read.
Another book with an amusing premise that suffered from pacing and length issues, reducing overall enjoyability. The main character was amusing and funny and made me laugh out loud at instances, but the book would have been better if it were halved.
A hilarious romp. I love the female lead Yu Yaoyao. She is silly and positive and a shining star. The notes on her scripts are amazing. The male lead is also wonderful. He is responsible and doting and a good father who actually spends time with his son.
Unfortunate whom I didn’t love was their supposedly adorable and precocious smarty pants son Shen Rui. He started out really cute but considering how his dad basically raised him as a single parent until he was 5, this little guy became a little shit to him after getting his mother’s love. I had to skim parts with him in it after he started talking back to his dad. I think what made him extra annoying was because it was presented as a good thing. Also unfortunately he was present a lot in the latter half of the book so I also had to skim a lot.
The manager was also irritating for the most part. He didn’t seem very competent. But anyway the female lead is OP and can take care of herself.
