This is book three in the Paradox Journals and involves adventures in time travel. Rebecca is an employee of Blaine Corp and they have created a time travel device, which an ex-employee has copied and used, causing problems. A couple of her colleagues, Amy and Elliot, had been having quite a few adventures trying to sort out matters and putting a stop to Mathews, sorting out timelines as they go. When Rebecca gets to work, a frightened intern corners her and says that someone has come through. It turns out a peasant from Medieval times called Anders, has travelled through their time machine somehow, stating that the evil king Ulrich has his master and will be coming after him to this place. His master Bartholomew, worked with Mathews and his time machine, but King Ulrich I refused to agree to Mathews plans to make weapons and to bring an army to here.
When the king died and was replaced by his son, King Ulrich II, he agreed with Mathews and wanted more of these machines made, so they could travel to the modern world with an army, using their machines of war. So far, they have only managed to make weaker machines, which can only travel from one machine to another, not anywhere they want to. For refusing to do as the new king wished, Anders’ master was imprisoned. Bartholomew has somehow managed to build a teleportation device, rather than a time travel device and Blaine himself is interested in this. Amy and Elliot are sent to accompany Anders back to his timeline. To sort out any problems Mathews has caused for their timeline with his creation of weapons.
An amusing story of mixing it up with those in medieval times, having to escape a situation and making changes, without affecting the true history of that time. Amy and Elliot have a trying but also enjoyable time, working with Anders and Bartholomew and trying to make matters right. A short but easy read. Time travel conundrum with a twist! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
I enjoyed this but, as with the first story, I found it disapponting that it wasn't longer, with more detail. As a light-hearted read its good but no sooner have you started to settle into the story than it ends :(
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another tale in K.D. Mack’s time travel trilogy again featuring Amy and Elliot and good friend Rebecca. When Anders, a man from the middle ages shows up in the time machine, Amy and Elliot must travel back in time to him. A good quick read.
What a neat twist on the dungeon. Having skipped the second part of this series I did miss something that I will have to go read. This story did give enough details from the previous part that there was a flow to the stories and yet they can be read as stand-alones.
