Tommy Hawthorne thought Heather Collins was sexy. It didn’t matter what color her hair was or how many piercings she added to her face. She just did it for him.
Unfortunately, when they were kids she only had eyes for his baby brother, and when Mick died, Tommy lost all contact with Heather.
A few years later, they’re thrown together when the Aces and Eights Motorcycle Club goes on lockdown.
Tommy isn’t the cocky boy Heather remembered. He’s angry with the world, and he can’t seem to harness his rage or the nightmares that wake him up in a cold sweat every night.
Nicole Jacquelyn started writing before she started elementary school, however she didn’t start publishing her stories until her senior year in college. Today, she’s the author of the best selling Aces Series, Hawthornes Series, Fostering Love Series and Bouchers Series. She loves to read, drinks too much coffee, and lives in Oregon with the coolest children in the entire world and an English Bulldog named Blue.

The NEW JASON BOURNE movie.
Oh my lord, people. I'm so frakking excited that the inner squee is pretty hard to contain here.
But anyway, I have to leave for that soon and then take the old fart to an old man blue bird lunch.
So this book....
...Is pretty short... ...ends verra abruptly... ...and has basically no plot to speak of...
But, you know what?
V. D. C.
Val. Don't. Care.
Because, when it comes to this series?
I'm a pig.
And I love me some shit.
I wouldn't recommend this book if you aren't caught up on the series - both this one and the original Aces series. If you haven't read those, the people here will mean nothing to you and the story might seem pretty legless and empty.
But, if like me, you are an Aces slut, this will be right in your wheelhouse.
Tommy and Heather are aight - but mainly I just loved catching up with previous series characters and getting to hang out in the Aces clubhouse again.

How the hell did I not know this was out!!!!!????
Setting everything else aside. Including all real life productivity.
Tommy Hawthrone is the middle son of my favorite couple Grease and Callie of this biker club and series. This is the first book of this spin off series of the children now grown of the Ace’s Club. I’m happy to report that it was a very enjoyable read. I loved how I was able to catch up with some of my old favorites of the prior series while getting to know Heather and Tommy. This book contains excitement, a wedding, secrets and some very hot chemistry.
The story ended way too abruptly and quickly for my liking with everything wrapping up in a neat quick bow. Thus my four star rating has to do with wanting more time with this young couple. I felt like they had just said their ‘I love yous’ and bam the story it was over.
In gifting two likable main characters and endless possibilities after the last page I can only blame the author for my leaving me wanting more.
I’m hoping that the author revisits them or they will play a major role in the next book? Regardless, Tommy and Heather made for good dual pov storytelling and can in fact be a standalone read if you’re so inclined. Also, this book is currently available on Kindle Unlimited which is always a bonus!
On the whole I liked Tommy and Heather's story, although it felt very rushed. Things happened at warp speed giving me very little time or information to get my head around things. I'm not a fan of flashbacks but if ever a book needed them for both main characters it's this one. Huge things happened in their pasts that affect their now and futures, yet they were briefly touched upon and should have been fleshed out a lot more. I don't feel I got to know or connect with either character, and I really wanted to with both Tommy and Heather.
And then ..... what happened?? I was merrily reading along and blam! The book ended! No epilogue, no HEA, no babies, no nothing. Did they make their marriage work? Buggered if I know! Did they stay together? Buggered if I know! Did they both overcome the issues in their pasts to move forward with their lives? Again, buggered if I know, and I'm sad because this story has the bones to be epic. Sadly it missed the mark.
That said, I loved catching up with the original characters from The Aces, seeing them live their hard fought for HEA's makes me want to go and do some re-reads.
I loved this book but to be fair I love Nicole Jacquelyn, her book just works for her, her style of writing is so perfect and the flow connects with me and pulls me in. I somehow missed that this book was coming out but the second I saw it I knew I needed it and dug right in till I had devoured every word. This is one of those series that I love and Nicole Jacquelyn is one of my all time favorite authors she has a way with words and capturing feelings like very few can.
Tommy and Heather went to school together when they were younger. Heather was best friends with Micky Tommy's younger brother, and Tommy and Micky couldn't have been closer. Everyone thought Micky and Heather had a thing so years later after Micky's death and the MC being on lock down bringing Heather back after their attorney's death no one is happy to see Tommy showing an interest to Heather. Even though Tommy is sure Heather was in love with his brother Tommy always noticed her and seeing her again being locked together Tommy finds himself gravitating towards her.
The more time Tommy and Heather spend together the more they connect, then something from Tommy's past threatens to take everything away and worse yet shine some light on past secrets both Heather and Tommy have no desire to be known. Wanting to do everything he can to keep Heather safe Tommy comes up with a plan and all seems to be working till those secrets threaten to ruin it all.
I loved Tommy, he was a perfect hero a little broken and rough around the edges but he loved the heroine Heather, she was it for him and keeping her safe was his top priority. He was willing to do anything to not only keep her but make her life perfect. Heather was smart and funny, she was a fighter and if that meant fighting for Tommy she would. I loved seeing them together, they were so perfect for each other. They both survived a trauma of losing Micky, Tommy's brother and Heather's best friend, but they both found strength and healing in each other something they couldn't find with anyone else.
I loved that we got to see all the old characters from the previous books, we also get to see what they are all up to now and with a series like this that I have grown to love over the years that's always a bonus. We also get to see Asa and Callie Micky and Tommy's parents, them surviving that horrible day when they lost so much has changed them and Heather coming back into everyone's life really brings back a lot of old pains and hurts. Asa comes off as a jerk at times but I just took that as him being so hurt and wanting to protect those he loves so much, especially after losing so many they all loved.
This isn't your regular MC book which I do love but this book and story is so much more. It's not your regular boy meets girl, bad guys, danger, rescue happy ending. The story is so gripping and so heartbreaking as well as intricate and engrossing. I was hooked from word one and didn't want this book to end. We find out so much about what really happened it was mesmerizing. We also see how Micky felt about his best friend and brother. Heather always assumed Micky was her rescuer but we see he wasn't alone and that Tommy always noticed and wanted Heather.
This book was perfect these characters that I have gotten to know over the years are so real and important to me that I never want to say goodbye to them and I always want more. I couldn't get enough of this book if there was one thing I could change it would be this book having epilogue, but if you know anything about me and epilogues you know I go a little nuts about them. And even with out an epilogue this book truly was perfect, it's so beautiful. reading this story your heart breaks and at the same time mend itself back together again stronger than ever. I can't recommend this book enough, and I really really hope the next one isn't too far away. This is one of those book that you finish way too quickly and then are a little lost at what to read after because it was so special.
*here is some extra info I know many will be wondering. So was Heather and Micky together(I know some have to know this before reading) Is there cheating? and a little bonus
** favorite quote Asa to Heather and Heather to Asa " You've got balls." he said, nodding. "that's good. You're gonna need'em." "They're probably bigger than yours," I mumbled reaching for my door handle.
Re-read: May 01, 2017 ---- I confess that I liked more the second time I read and even added a star. I think that when I reread the series I ended up liking it a lot more of this couple who faced the problems of a more mature way. Both heroes lived traumatic situations and they brought these issues to the relationship. I enjoyed the reading.
i liked this one and i do love this author and series but it just ended a bit too abruptly.. i felt like it was just getting really good with a bit more of the story left to tell for tommy and heather..
If you love MC romance novels, you probably already came across Nicole Jacquelyn's books. She is brilliant...and one of my favourite mc romance writers. This book is no different. I loved it!
I really really liked this book. I loved everything about it... the premise, the characters, the dialogue, the drama, the way Nicole Jacquelyn took the time to refresh her readers' memories about this crazy confusing family tree in a way that didn't feel tedious but natural... all of it. I could seriously read this author's books everyday and it would never get old. I adore her writing style, her perfectly paced storylines, the angst mixed with the sexy romance. This story was just perfection. And while it would totally go against the grain, I really hope Tommy and Heather get a sequel. I know this author doesn't typically write two books about the same couple, but Heather and Tommy feel like they need more. I NEED MORE. The end of this book felt more like a beginning and they're so young, and their relationship is so new in many ways... I WANT MORE!
Don't love Melanie, Heather's sister from book two. I didn't like her in that book either.
Not sure how Mick, Tommy's younger brother, was mooning over Trix in book one, to now being outed as being gay in book three? Makes no sense.
Also- Heather says Tommy has never raised his voice to her. Uhhhh- were you not there at the clubhouse, after he and Will got into it, where he yelled at you behind the building earlier in the story?
Sigh. I wanted to like this book however, there were discrepancies, and what was up with the ending? We don't get a satisfactory HEA- no closure or look into the future like the other couples had.
Also- Will, Mick, and Tommy's dad is a major dickhead to their women. Also- the club men suck ass too- especially when it comes to Heather, and their comments.
This is the first story I've read in this spin off series. I've read all the Aces MC books, which I freaking adore. But after most of my GR friends had poor reviews about Craving Trix, this series fell of my radar. Now I wish I read the prior two, and have every intention to go back and read them now.
This story seemed to wrap up quickly, with barely any closer. Which makes me wonder if there is more to be written about, or if the author just didn't feel like writing more about them. Either way, good story, not too intense, with emotional moments.
I loved the main series and this Just adds to the love, this story deals with real life issues that the second generation acknowledges and it shows the Main stream and how rough and tough the life was. They raised their kids right.
While I am enjoying this spin-off series, I do have to admit that it is not even close to rivaling the obsession and love I hole for for its predecessor, "The Aces". There is something I can't put my finger on that seems to be missing *so far* for me when it comes to loving this series.
In the case of Craving Hawk , I found the Thomas and Heather's relationship to be severely underdeveloped. I never really felt their connection, and while I grew to enjoy their story, I just couldn't find myself to be totally invested. The ending was also a little "eh" for me. The strongest points for me were Tommy and Micky's relationship, and being back with so many characters I love and adore. The romance took a back burner in terms of things I loved about this book. The emotion was there, but very minimal for the couple in itself.
I don't want to take away from the fact that I still really do enjoy this series, and can't imagine I would ever stop picking them up for as long as Nicole Jacquelyn graces us with more books. This story just fell a little flat for me, and solidified some critiques I've held for this spin-off. Hoping I have some more luck with the next!
The release of this book came out of nowhere. When I saw Nicole's post on Facebook, I went straight to Amazon to one-click the book. Nicole is one of my favorite MC/biker romance author. She writes in a way that really speaks to me and grabs my attention.
In the beginning of this book I had no idea which direction it would go. I really liked both Tommy and Heather. In the first glimpse they aren't really a good fit but they say opposites attract. That was definitely the case for these two characters. They annoy each other but are also pretty awesome together. They both still mourn Mick, who was killed a couple of years ago. Before the lock down they never hung out or really had any contact. But find themselves drawn to each other.
Because of a situation they end up making a huge decision together. After they agree on it they start to grow closer together and we get to see a different side to both of them. However Tommy is still haunted by guilt because of Mick's death. He just can't let it go. There were a couple of times he seriously overreacted to things happening with Heather. It broke my heart to see him in such a state.
Nicole didn't disappoint with this book. I love the gang and I hope we'll get many more books in this series. It was awesome seeing what the characters from the previous books were up to. They all have a special place in my heart.
Best one so far, but ended too abruptly for my liking. I would have enjoyed an epilogue but for some reason the author didn't give us one and I think it was needed.
Tommy, Heather, and Mick ( deceased) went to high school together. Heather and Mick were best friends. Tommy and Mick were brothers three years apart. Mick sacrificed himself saving his brother Tommy in a shooting from book 1. Tommy has PTSD, survivor guilt and everything else you can think of. He's completely out of control. Heather also is fighting her own demon's while keeping Mick's deep dark secret along with Tommy. His deep dark secret? He was gay and being manipulated by his English teacher. So here's where I'm confused and the author lost the plot or forgot how she described Mick in book 1. See Mick was crushing on Trix in book 1. Everyone saw it. Everyone knew it, but all of a sudden Mick's gay now? I just didn't get it. Author should have brought that up and changed it in this book. Maybe he was purposely crushing on Trix and trying to throw the club off? But that doesn't make sense as these dudes aren't homophobic and Amy's son is a big masculine gay man who rides a motorcycle. I don't know 🤷. Anyways, all this comes out at the end of the book as the police were trying to convict Tommy for killing the English teacher who I think basically raped and kept manipulating Mick. Spoiler Tommy did kill the teacher. He got his revenge. It was quite devastating and tragic to be honest. Honestly how much more terror is this author going to bring to the Hawthorne family? His parents Grease and Callie were completely heartbroken. Which I have a bone to pick with Grease in this book as he's my fav in this series. He was horrible to Heather and said some pretty shitty things to her. I was disappointed in him 😣. But overall I liked it. Just wanted a more satisfying ending to their relationship. They're basically broken up and are going to try again. These two, especially Tommy deserve a HEA.

Wow this is the second book I have read by Nicole & I think I am hooked! This was very fast paced, in your face, emotional & romantic all at once. These two were just meant to be
I was gonna skip this one. Idk why. But seeing Hawk: heather and Tommy in all the other books they’re so fun! I wanted more. This was good, but ugh!! No epilogue again!
Craving just a little bit more! It didn’t matter how many times I read the name Hawk, I immediately visualised a male bad-ass character. Hawk is in fact Heather’s nickname given to her by Rebel, Molly’s daughter when she was little. It stuck and I think it’s awesome given the history, but I can’t believe the number of times I had to switch the tone of the voice in my head when Heather was referred to as Hawk LOL.
Heather and Tommy’s relationship started off on shaky ground. It was convenient for them to get together because of the need to keep information only they are privy to away from not only the law, but also the club. Complicating things even further was the fact that some, assuming Heather had been his girlfriend, believed their being a couple was disrespectful to Tommy’s deceased brother Tricky but as readers we were privy to the truth and as such their being together always felt right.
The forbidden aspect fed right into my love of angst. I loved the sass Heather gave Tommy’s father, Grease, and the confidence she exuded when delivering her attitude. She needed every ounce of her strength to stand by Tommy and his short temper.
Tommy has a lot of pent up rage inside of him. The majority of the time he has it locked down tight, but when it surfaces it is consuming. Surviving the horrific carnage the club suffered is something Tommy still struggles with. He learns to deal with his demons but in doing so he does it tough.
I loved how Heather goes from being an outsider to feeling an accepted part of the club. Her wanting to maintain her individuality while not offending others was entertaining. Heather won me over with the diplomatic way she met the other old ladies half way when they took her out clothes shopping. You don’t realise how much so until she reveals all to Tommy afterwards!
Each book in this series leaves me craving more time with each character and excited to have another book to dive straight into. The epilogue in this book left me wanting more time with Heather and Tommy being together. Fortunately the series is all about family time, so I will be bound to get time with them in future books.
I am so grateful for the challenge read I took on this year that has spurred me on to get back into the Aces’ Sons series. Having multiple series on the go at the same time makes keeping up with each new release a juggling act at times. The upside is that I have been able to read two books in a row from this series that I have thoroughly enjoyed! Now I’m about to dive straight into the next book, Craving Lily.
At first I had problems getting into to it and couldn't remember certain characters until I read a certain part and the previous books all came flooding back in slowly, so maybe it of would of been a better idea to re read the previous book before this one. I really felt for both of these kids and certainly when the reason for all the secrecy comes out I'm actually quite shocked what a twist. Real emotion fuelled writing that pulled me along with them and the story of Tommy and Heather
Heather what a character absolutely brilliant moments within the book like this one....“Will was kneeling, his chest heaving, and on his back was Heather. She had her arm around his neck, squeezing as hard as she could, and I was pretty sure she was trying to make him pass out. My brother’s neck was thick as fuck with muscle. There was no way it would work, but she was still trying.”

Craving Hawk was my Amazon prime freebie for September and I have to say that I really am enjoying this second generation of Aces and their troubled relationships. I am a really huge fan of the original series and so it would take a whole lot to make me love these Aces' Sons more than I did the fathers...and I do like what I am reading, but they just don't have quite the same feel. Tommy and Heather are hot from the beginning and although there are some pretty nasty comments made to her about the fact she is with the brother of her "supposed former lover", she stands her ground and through some violent altercations, this new couple manage to find their own way. Big secrets that cause much pain for the family are revealed and all in all I really enjoyed reading this one...but man oh man, these kids need a good spanking and to get a grip on their tempers. A must read for fans of Nicole Jacquelyn and lovers of second generation biker family sagas.
**** 4 **** "keeping the fire but calming the burn" stars
IT just stopped! What happened to the ending? why does this author continue to skip the ending? So this story is about Tommy and Heather. They knew each other in high school and from what I gathered, Tommy was into Heather but she had a crush on his little brother, Michael. Fast forward two year or so (timeline was a little iffy) and Tommy is hooking up with Heather. They end up coming closer than they both would ever dream of (due to some past issues). However, Tommy has some unresolved issue which push Heather away. He starts to work on them and then BAM! the f'ing book ends! We are left to assume that Tommy and Heather were able to work things out but it's not clear. Ms. Jacquelne - please stop with the abrupt endings or lack there of. You did the same thing in the previous book.
I really enjoy this series. I love how we get to follow around character from the original series. It's usually the same premise. Boy and girl meet. Fall in love. Drama. Reconciliation. But each couple is distinctly their own people. All the characters are extremely different and they way they love and behave is different from every other character in the series and I truly enjoy it. My only pet peeve is that they always seem to end abruptly. They're not really "novel" length I see them more as "novellas". But well worth it novellas.
I love these books. Each and every single one have brought out all kinds of emotions in me I can't begin to explain the enormity of how much they have touch my heart. From Callie and Greece to Tommy and Heather I 're read each book numerous times. I could talk about the story line but I don't want to spoil the enjoyment of discovering each character so I bid you the reader a beautiful soulful passionate read. Bravo Nicole Bravo
I always enjoy the books in these series and I really liked this couple...I just felt like it was a bit too rushed and we weren't really given the chance to connect to the couple the way they deserved. I mean, 6 months passes by within a few pages and then BAM, everything is good again. It really needed a epilogue. But after saying that, I will definitely continue to read these stories.
