While there are some works that highlight the fantastic achievements of women in powerful positions, there is no particular project exclusively dedicated to celebrating the “girl power.” The compilation contains short stories with the theme of Girl Power in whichever way the author defines it for herself and her readers. The 33 romance stories are narrated in a diverse yet entertaining and inspiring way and will be released in regular intervals throughout 2020.

In July of 2014, while discussing books with her sister-in-law one day, she mentioned that she had thought about trying to write her own book sometime. Knowing that the creative arts were already her strong suit, her sister-in-law simply said, "Go for it." And she did.
That very night, Layla went home, opened up a word document and started Chapter 1. Before the night was over, four chapters were complete and the story of Nicole Pepper and Gage Anderson was born.
Like most projects, she couldn't stop until she was finished. After sharing "Catching My Heart" with some close friends, she decided to publish and see where things went. Well, they just kept going. The story of Nicole and Gage continued to form in her brain and it soon became the Grand Slam Trilogy.
As she continued to write, some of her friends/editors/proof-readers asked for a story about Tony Rivera, a detective that plays a secondary role in the Grand Slam Trilogy. Without much hesitation, the Arrested Hearts Series was born.
From there, she has since moved on with two more series: Finding Harmony and Second Chances. All the while, the characters from her stories interact with one another and you continue to watch Nicole and Gage move forward with their lives.
What started as a random burst of creativity has blossomed into an extremely satisfying side gig that has yet to lose momentum. As long as the ideas keep coming and her friends still want to read, she will continue to write.
Additionally, with a few exceptions, the book covers are designed and drawn by Layla.

Omg, this book is such a tease! How can you go and give me an awesome strong heroine, an alpha hottie and then add in off the charts suspense and just leave a girl hanging!! I’m not saying this book wasn’t good because I couldn’t put it down, but dang it...I need more ASAP!

If you’ve followed along my reading game, then you know I’m no stranger to Layla Delaney. She is an author that I can read and reread time and time again. Her stories have enough excitement to get your blood pumping as well as swoon worthy moments.
This story is no different as Imara Callas and Steele Astor collide and see how much love bites. Of course Riddick might bite too ;).
Imara and her four-legged pal Riddick are ready to prove they are the best of the best. Her K9 partner has her back when things get scary. Only he can’t help her with matters of the heart. Imara knows what she wants and she refuses to let a man or her heart in the way.
Steele sees Imara and realizes that she is it. Only convincing her that they are worth fighting for proves to be a battle. It was fun reading about Steele getting knocked down a peg or two.
Layla keeps you on your toes in this story! She will keep you guessing and this story leaves you with a fabulous HFN moment that will have you begging for more. Don’t worry, more will be coming and we will see how hard love bites.
This short story is jam packed but not overwhelming. It keeps you guessing and entertained. You will laugh but also root for Imara throughout the story. It shows women at their best and how a strong man doesn’t make them weaker.
Plot and smaller plots are done well and while this story arc is concluded, the bigger arc we have to wait to see more of.

I LOVED the suspense in this novella and how quickly the characters literally leapt off the page. And, as a dog lover, I loved, loved, loved Riddick. I very much enjoyed this book and the chemistry between Imara and Steele, and I can't wait to see what comes next in their story.

I knew I was going to enjoy reading this book from the moment I read the first words. The story leapt at me and I was hooked. I loved Imara and Steele and I loved the chemistry between them. Imara is a strong woman and that comes through in the book. I have read a few of Ms Delaney’s books and I have enjoyed each and every one and this is no exception. I am looking forward to reading more about Imara and Steele in books to come. Awesome read!

This story is so well written I was literally in the pages with the characters. I loved Imara's strength and Steele is such a match for her. I can't wait to read the next installment.

What a fun read with suspense as a part of it!
Loved the characters spicy attitude with each other! They have instant connection and not all just sizzle!
I truly enjoy seeing a woman in a role that in most stories is held predominantly by men! Of course her man is up for the challenge of being what she needs and accepting her strength!
Can’t wait to read more!
