A Dangerous and Possessive Love

Rate this book
Note: This was previously published as Prince of Darkness (Part One).

He's powerful, merciless, and so, so dangerous that people call him the Prince of Darkness. And right now, the prince wants...me.

I really should've known better.
His place looks more like a fortress than a home, and everyone living with him is armed to the teeth.
That should've been enough to send me running.
But because I was foolish, I ended up working for him.
A foolish lamb serving the terrifying wolf in a suit.
I thought having a boyfriend would make me immune to the Prince of Darkness.
I thought I could keep myself safe.
But I was wrong.

This is Part I of the Dark Mafia Romance duet. If you enjoyed books such as 365 Days or 365 DNI by Blanka Lipinska, then you might want to give this a try.
Other themes: college romance, bully romance, billionaire romance

*Spoiler Spoiler*

So many billionaires within this fictional square mile
A "Prince", who is a billionaire but has no day job (but O, he inherited millions from his mafia parents). AKA Reid.

A girl who is a university student but is also a maid at the Prince's mansion. AKA Fawn

A boyfriend, who cheats on said student/maid, but plays a role in saving said student/maid. AKA Grant

Some killers willing to do anything to get to the "Prince" because he dared to disrupt their illegal entity/activities.

These are the main characters in this book and not one of them is plausible. But, on to my review.

This was a short quick read that I liked. Fawn goes to work as a maid for Reid Chalkias, known as the Prince of Darkness she has no idea what she is getting herself into. Fawn also has a fiancee but she begins to have feelings for Reid. These two had some hot chemistry the sex scenes were hot. I have read this author before. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

This was a pretty good book. Reid is the Dark Prince. He's known for his secrets and wild sex parties. Fawn is a new hire. She's sweet and clueless and attracts Reid's attention. Fawn doesn't fall for his charm but he takes it as a challenge. When Fawn catches her finance having sex with someone else Reid makes his move. This was a pretty good read. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading book two in this series.

I liked it, I saw what was going to happen with the fiancé coming and I'm on to the next book now. I hate when the H is with other women after having feelings for the h but what can you do. It's always worse when the see and hear it too. With Marian you know there is a knife to the gut in there somewhere but there's a HEA later. I'm onto the next...

Playboy. Billionaire. Heartbreaker.
These were just some of the things people knew Greek graduate student Reid Chalkias as, but his greatest claim to infamy was as The Prince of Darkness – and it was a name he deserved, in more ways than one.
Embracing the darkness allowed the prince to keep everyone at a distance…until innocent Fawn Cornwall started working for him.
Without even trying, Fawn was able to make him experience emotions he once thought he was immune to.
Jealousy. Possessiveness. And even…affection.
He almost, almost wanted to believe she was destined for him – if only she wasn’t already engaged to marry another man.

By far some of this author's best work. Fawn is sweetness and light. Reid thrives on dark, sensational and wicked delights. I never question that I am going to get a good story from Marian Tee. She has a vivid imagination. What breaks my heart is waiting to find out what happens next.

There is a difference between a heroine that is naive and innocent and one that is too stupid to live. This book was trying for the former and ended up with the latter. Babbling is not cute. Being obtuse is not endearing. This is a woman who wants to be a professional that is in charge of the livelihood of others, ffs. Seriously.

Book got two starts instead of one because I actually finished it.

Not My Favorite

I honestly wasn't a huge fan of this book although i did enjoy the storyline. I thought that Fawn came off as kind of annoying at times. I also felt like it didn't flow as well as it could have in places and could have. With that said the tension between Prince and Fawn was well written and fun to read. Not sure if I'm going to buy the next book or not.

I could not get into this story or it's character's. The Prince of Darkness's character was somewhat developed but had large gaps. Fawn, well she was just too much. She is supposed to be 21 but is ridiculously naive. She's has a boyfriend for years, is engaged and has only been kissed by him once. What year is this? She's going to college and yet stumbles when she speaks saying to many "I'm sorry" and "Uhm's". That got old real fast. She is shocked at every thing kinky and constantly gets herself into trouble while working as a maid. The description of this book was more interesting than the first 92 pages of this two-book story. Perhaps this book might appeal to a much younger crowd but it was anything but a dark Mafia romance and a very convoluted story; never really giving the reader some depth into the Prince of Darkness or Fawn. I'm not familiar with this author or have read her other novels, but this one just didn't have the substance and interest a reader looks for in a Mafia dark romance.

What did I just read? It took me a few days to finish when it should have only taken a few hours. I simply could not under the intrigue behind Reid. The chemistry between Reid and Fawn felt forced. It seemed like he desired her bc she was already taken. He constantly called her dense and I would have to agree. Most of the dialogue was in her head. Every single time she spoke, it was a stuttering, bumbling mess. It was cute at first, but not for the entire book. We finally get to see what Grant is all about at the end and Reid has a plan to get back at him. Unfortunately, I won’t be sticking around to read the next installment.

What a strange book. My 1st time reading this author and I gotta be honest, I might read another but man, this book was weird. I'm okay with a submissive & naive type h and alpha male but this girl was a mess. The stuttering and use of child like words was overkill because you get a pretty good sense of her naivety in the beginning (plus the H thinks she's dense as well).. and what's up with this dude being a fuck!ng psycho and gaslighting everyone about his psychoses, including himself?

I once read a book where the H held a cat in his hand and said "why is it vibrating?" And I thought to myself, "you found him. The dumbest book mother fuck%r of all!" But nah. This is it.

Wow. I absolutely loved reading this book. The playful parts had me cracking up. I literally had a hard time putting it down. Fawn is so innocent and doesn’t realize she’s driving the Prince mad with jealousy. It’s like I want them together but then I want them to hold off because I enjoy the tension between the two. Such a great read.

I was looking forward to this one from the series and was pleasantly surprised at the fact that the 2 main characters don’t have sex in this book (was a shocker for a MT read)

Obviously book two will probably make up for that but as a fan of slow burns, I loved the pace of this one.

Darkness

Not a bad beginning to the duology. It literally set the stage, I feel, for the next book. I look forward to reading that one as well.

Horrendous ,he's no better than his criminal family ,false platitudes

Romance ? No . This was nothing but a man that is supposed to be a business man but in reality is A pimp for every and anyone .This was not romantic at all .He throws parties..orgies is more like it ..and has no problem having sex with anyone even though he is supposed to be the love interest in this .It just BAD. Through the first half of the book we see nothing ,no chemistry at all and he is more interested in besting her boyfriend than anything else .
After reading the beginning where he was a 13 year old at court ,I had hope that this would be a good book with decent male ...nope he's a party man that makes money off of sex and I found it very disturbing read .
Its not dark at all but I just can't stand a romance when we get sex described to us especially when its the supposed main male and other women . When I get these books its always the same .They are trying to show you that the female is experiencing her sexual freedom but it just makes it cheap , more than smut that leaves my skin crawling . If I read poor master one more time ......poor nothing but a whore##nger . And frankly I think the speech when he was13 was bulls##t because he turned out just
Like his crime family ...dealing in flesh .
It always makes me say, how , when I run into the 5 stars reviews . They never actually say what appealed them to the book .And I would have loved a detailed description of the activities such as " warning ,the main male character has sex with multiple women that are not main female ,orgie parties ,sets up people to have sex as a dealer in flesh trade ,seduced the main female character so he could prove he had a bigger di#k than her boyfriend and exposes her to people that only want her body which makes it cheap, him a pimp and her eventually a W#ore." ...... Yea that would have made me skip this piece of nasty and saved a -00000000000 review.
I still cringe when people give this stuff 5 stars .Stop calling this romance and call it for what it really is , porn with no faithful characters. 😒

I'm not quite sure what makes this author's writing so easy to get into. Fawn was beyond naive and childlike. With any other writer, I would normally be a bit peeved and irritated with such a wimpy heroine, so kudos to this author for somehow creating a likeable sweet heroine that I couldn't dislike.
I was on team Fawn from the get go and am hoping that Prince will not succumb and end up cheating on her.
I've read this author before, and out of the blue, she will have the hero cheat and really treat the sweet heroine unjustly, usually to appease his hurt pride, and occasionally to intentionally wound the heroine to teach her a lesson on who has the power.
With this cliffy and my attachment to Fawn, I really hope the Prince doesn't fall from my esteem which he still had at the end of this first book.
